The Brief
Fourth floor client suite
The new offices of commercial law firm Hill Dickinson LLP are situated in the heart of Liverpool’s St. Paul’s business district, opposite the passport office and the Liverpool Echo building and rubbing shoulders with the city’s thriving firms of accountants, banks and financial services companies. The offices are home to 576 people, gathered together for the first time following the amalgamation of four previous offices into the new space, occupying around 120,000 sq ft in the building, over seven floors, with the potential to extend the capacity of the office to around 700 people. Claremont was appointed to specify, supply and install all loose furniture items for the offices, with the added challenge of offering a furniture package which would not only help create an exceptional working environment, but would also aid in the encouragement of knowledge-sharing and communication. t: 01925 284 000 w: www.claremontgi.com © 2008

The Solution Beyond the initial impact of the ground floor atrium, the focus on impressing and providing services to clients is reflected in the hospitality suite on the fourth floor. Cool and contemporary and reminiscent of a first class business lounge, it offers an understated counterpoint to the very corporate feel of the main reception. With high-spec furniture pieces from Bene, Wiesner Hager, Vitra, and bespoke elements by Nethercoats, all adopt the same palette of neutral autumnal colours and sedate lines to help create a feeling that is both businesslike and relaxed. In the open plan areas, standard benches supplied by Ofquest were specified for six people, with the option of taking up to eight and task chairs from Orangebox are finished in black to complement the desktop screens. The Result IT and Operations Director, Keith Feeny, comments: “It’s been designed to make a statement […] it’s incredibly important for us as a business to display the right identity for our clients, many of them with offices located within a stone’s throw of us now.” Claremont’s Ann Clarke comments: “It’s easy to make the big statements about corporate identity, the more difficult aspect is bringing everything together into a coherent whole. Your workspace will only truly give you what you need when it’s working in sync with culture, design and organisational structure. Hill Dickinson have managed to achieve this—taking a holistic approach to the project from the outset.”
