2) A Letter from our Lieutenant Governor Clarence Manglal-lan Hey, Key Clubbers! It was such a pleasure to meet so many of you during my Club Visits! And to think, I’ve only visited 2 out of 3 of the Key Clubs in our division! To those clubs that I have yet to visit, don’t worry! I am currently planning with your Faculty adviser and School Administration to plan a Lieutenant Governor visit. I’m so excited to attend your first Key Club meetings and to present all the wonderful things the District, Key Club International, and I have been up to the past few months! Make sure that you are receiving all of my Remind updates and emails! I have provided my contact information down below. This is not only essential to officers, but to members as well. Continue doing the incredible work you are all doing this year! I can’t wait to see the amazing things your club will do for our homes, our schools, and most importantly, our communities. 2) A Letter from our International Vice President: Minyong Kim Hello Division 1 North! My name is Minyoung Kim and I am so incredibly honored and humbled to serve as your International Vice President for the 2017-18 service year! A little bit about myself -- I served as the Georgia District Governor for the 201617 term. In my free time, I love to watch Netflix (few of my favorite shows are The Flash, How to Get Away with Murder, and Sense 8) , take pictures, and explore through Yelp to discover aesthetic coffee shops near me! My job as vice president mainly entails three parts, First, I assist the international president as he supervises over the organization. Second, I work closely with the Western Canada District, to aid in membership growth and participation by providing resources. Lastly, I serve as the chairperson of the committee on Youth Opportunities Fund/Awards. For the 2017-18 service year, I hope to build more Key Clubs outside of North America as well as ensure that Key Club members experience Key Club to its full potential. In addition, I hope to charter 3 more clubs in the Western Canada District, to admit the district-in-formation as one of Key Club International’s official district! As the Chairperson of committee on Youth Opportunities Fund/Awards, I’ve placed focus on re-evaluating our award system and revising the award criteria for distinguished officers. I can’t wait to get to know you all as we embark on another Year of service. Let’s continue this year with one full of friendship and a community full of service.

THE SERVICE
Our Divisional Project, K –Family: Konnections, will focus on working together with 4 of the main Kiwanis Family Organizations other than Key Club. Specific club officers will be assigned to specific Connections, and our Lieutenant Governor, Clarence Manglal-lan, will work on all. • Kiwanis Club: The Kiwanis Clubs in our area are our main source of support and sponsorship. Kiwanis International is basically the adult version of Key Club. • Circle K: Our area is included in Kiwanis Division 1; however, in Key Club our Division is split into 2 sections, 1 North and 1 South. Currently there is no Circle K Club in Division 1. Our goal this year is to establish at least 1-2. We can accomplish this by getting in contact with current college/university students, and/or former Key Club Alumni to help begin the charter process. • Builder’s Club and K-Kids: The Kiwanis Family starts way before high school, with K-Kids focusing on Elementary schools, and Builder’s Club focusing on middle/junior high schools. Our Division currently has little to none. By chartering either, it will help boost our membership in the long run future of our division.
