Fiona Boyes Blues Guitar
The Clarence’s own international superstar blues guitarist Fiona Boyes performs her first concert for the Clarence Valley Conservatorium. Fiona is a blues guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, who has been recording and performing for more than 25 years, building a career that has taken her to major festivals and stages around the world. Equally at home on acoustic or electric guitars, her repertoire is like a Blues travelogue. Listen to her play and you’ll hear pre-war Delta slide, wailing laments, single chord Mississippi Hills grooves, intricate and beautiful finger picking, rollicking New Orleans barrelhouse, greasy Memphis soul, driving classic Chicago sounds, the country stylings of Texas Swing, and the uptown sounds of the West Coast.

Ay Pachanga
Ay Pachanga is the Latin party of the year! Following sell-out shows in Sydney, Ay Pachanga celebrates the world’s largest Latin label, Fania Records, and the music that made it famous. Founded in New York in 1964, Fania Records produced Latin music stars such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Ray Barreto, Willie Colon, and Ruben Blades, and showcased a melting pot of musical influences derived from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, America and Panama. Music Director Martin Taylor (Mucho Mambo) performs with a stellar line-up of top Australian musicians performing Latin boogaloo, salsa, and mambo - the Latin sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Mission Songs Project
Mission Songs Project is an initiative to revive contemporary Australian Indigenous songs from 1900 to 1999, focusing on the Christian missions, state run settlements and native camps where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were relocated. Searching for the secular songs that were sung after church, Mission Songs Project looks to explore the day to day life of the mission days, from cultural identity to love and loss. These unique songs consist of almost forgotten stories that shed light into the history of our Indigenous elders, families and communities.
