Term 3 2020 Boom BANG Boogie is back and will be held on Monday, 20 July. The workshop will provide an opportunity for students from Clarence Valley schools to participate in a combined band rehearsal, to make new friends from different schools and to perform in a short concert. The workshop will commence at 9.00am and will include a short concert performance at 2.00pm. Full details are on the CVCon website or are available by calling the CVCon office. Students will also reprise their performance and present the concert a second time that night (Monday, 20 July) at 7:00pm.
News from the Conservatorium Highlights from Term 2 Last term saw the commencement of a slow and gradual return to some sort of normality with in-person lessons and some of our small group lessons resuming. Lachy Hamilton Jazz at the Con After a fantastic Jazz night in 2019 we are excited to have Lachy Hamilton and his trio as part of the 2020 Visiting Artists Series. Playing a mix of familiar compositions as well as Lachy's own compositions the trio will deliver a fantastic evening's entertainment. Featuring a guest performance from the Clarence Valley Conservatorium Jazz Ensemble this is sure to be a highlight of the 2020 series.

Term 3 Kidzjam (2-5 years)
Led by Mel Smith the CVCon Early Childhood Music program provides children with an opportunity to discover, learn and have fun. The program enables a development of a musical appreciation through vocal, instrumental and aural activities. Kidzjam creates an enjoyable musical experience for both children and carers. Each week activities will be focussed on a different musical subject which enables them to hear, see and play a variety of different musical instruments. Taikoz 4Tet Live! Presented in two 45 minute parts, Taikoz 4Tet Live is an exciting program that begins with Waves Ian Cleworth's mesmerising, virtuosic 2-tone slung-drum solo - and continues to burn in energy until the uplifting finale - Joe Small's choreographic drumming spectacle, Propel. From the small, highpitched shimedaiko to the deep bass tones of the odaiko, Taikoz's taiko combine with soulful singing and spirited movement to create a varied and entertaining concert suitable for all ages.
