Plan B

Plan B

When the Israelites journeyed through the desert, God provided Manna to sustain them. They were permitted eat all they could stomach. The only requirement was that they did not store any leftovers. They were to trust that God would not forsake them, but instead continue to sustain them through there pilgrimage. Some chose not to trust God. They had a Plan B. They stored food away just in case God did not keep His promise. The food they stored rotted and was of no use to them. How many of us have prayed constantly asking God for something? How many of us have created a Plan B just in case God doesn’t come through? How many of us have placed God’s work on our own timetable? If God doesn’t help my new business become profitable with 2 years, at least I have another option. Of course there are things you must do to prepare yourself for what you’ve prayed for. Faith without works is truly dead. Does the phase “Walking in faith and not by sight” mean that we are to through caution to the wind and trust that God will provide everything we ask? Of course not. God will provide only that which is His will. Many times that means not giving us what we pray for. Perhaps we should ask God what He would have us do. In any event, you cannot have it both ways. You cannot Walk in Faith while holding hands with Plan B.
