Everyone Has a Role to Play We understand that the role of the College does not finish at the end of the school day, nor at the conclusion of a student’s education.

Old Scholars’ Reunions

At the heart of our vibrant, interconnected community are our staff and parents who share a strong commitment to the education, wellbeing and mutual support of our students.

Trinity College is more than a school; we pride ourselves on being a community. From Preschool to Year 12 and beyond we share a strong commitment to the education, wellbeing and mutual support of our students. With parent support groups and a substantial network of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, a Trinity student will enjoy and benefit from our vibrant interconnected community.

All students are encouraged to be involved in the spiritual life of the College, including celebrations of the Christian calendar, Eucharist services and community service. The St Francis Anglican Church, which is particularly child and youth friendly, welcomes everyone to congregational gatherings every Sunday in the College Chapel. Parents play an active role in the governance and daily life of Trinity College. The College Board sets the strategic direction for the organisation. Old Scholars

Recognising and rewarding students for their achievements and efforts is an important part of life at Trinity College. The Trinity College Foundation assists the College by raising funds for various scholarships and awards. The Foundation supports Trinity teams who may need to represent the College at state, national and international events, as well as programmes such as artists-in-residence, Operation Flinders and the emergency needs of students experiencing hardship. The Foundation’s generosity extends to the management of a Library Fund and Building Fund to which donations are tax deductible.

A valuable part of the Trinity College community is our Old Scholars’ network. With five vibrant sporting clubs based at the College including hockey, football, netball, tennis and cricket, they have become a growing support network for our community. Old Scholars provide a connection between the College of today and its former students, with reunion gatherings hosted annually. They perform a pivotal role in the continuing development of the College by supporting events such as Open Day, in addition to mentoring programmes, social functions and the Foundation’s fundraising activities.

Where Imaginations Can Flourish Trinity College offers students a number of opportunities to discover and explore their artistic potential.

Creativity is embedded at Trinity in all academic disciplines and fields as a way of encouraging innovation and imagination. Experiencing the arts (dance, drama, literature, media arts, music and visual arts) is natural and necessary for all young people as part of their learning. We are regular participants in the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival and have strong relationships with local professional artists who perform workshops with our students. However, for us at Trinity, creativity extends beyond these traditional fine art disciplines and we offer students the opportunity to explore their imagination with engineering, design, computer

programming, media broadcasting, robotics, virtual reality, podcasting and augmented reality. We have dynamic spaces for our musicians to perform, rehearse, choreograph and compose. The College has a large variety of instrumental tutors, with specialist music rooms for individual tuition. We have concert bands, choirs and ensembles at each school. Students have the opportunity to compete in music eisteddfods, both state-wide and nationally, plus perform for our community at College music nights, cabarets, soirees, graduations and Open Day.

Our Arts faculty is best known for the annual whole college musical production. Traditionally hosted in the Hewitson Theatre, with up to a 1,000-seating capacity, this full-scale musical show often sells out in advance. With our well-established relationships from the world of professional stage and theatre, budding artists have every opportunity to learn from the best in the business whilst at Trinity.

"I can explore my creativity i"n so many ways

Performance spaces abound for students to explore their creative talents including theatres, audio visual rooms, art and design studios.

Joining Team Trinity With a passion for educating the whole person, Trinity College offers a range of activities to promote physical wellness and engagement.

The positive interaction between students, staff and parents in the co-curricular programme greatly assists the learning that can take place in the classroom. Physical Education is a core curriculum subject from Early Years to Year 9, with optional choices in Years 10 to 12.

As an educational institution, we are uniquely placed to provide, in a meaningful manner, that fundamental educational link between the body and mind. For students with a real passion for fitness, we offer an excellent selection of Health and PE subjects in our Senior School including Athlete Development and a Certificate III in Fitness. Because our teachers and coaches commit themselves to this aspect of our mission, we have a remarkable pool of educational and sporting experience on which to call.

Trinity has committed resources to increase the profile, coaching standards and facilities to ensure that the best programmes possible are offered to all students. One of the distinguishing features of our College is the comprehensive programmes we offer and the convenience and security this provides for parents. Trinity seeks to offer opportunities that range from an entry level experience all the way through to high-end experiences.

This facility provides a unique learning environment with an on-site classroom, composting toilets and rainwater tanks.

Senior School

Career Planning

Our focus is on understanding and valuing each Senior student in a friendly, academically challenging environment. At Senior School, students are at the centre of learning and all decisions relating to SACE, university, VET and employment pathways, behaviour management, pastoral care, and assessment are made with this in mind. This means programmes and courses are case managed to equip all students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to help them achieve individual long-term goals.

With the expert guidance of key staff including the Pathways Co-Ordinator, Academic Careers Counsellor, SACE Co-Ordinator, Head of Wellbeing and the Principal, senior students are presented many career planning options. The Personal Learning Plan (PLP) is a compulsory SACE subject, undertaken in Year 10. Students consider their aspirations and research careers, training and further study choices to help them map out their future. This enables students to identify appropriate SACE subjects and courses based on their plans for future vocations and study.

(Year 11 to Year 12)

Our curriculum offerings are driven by the SACE and VET certificates. The Research Project is a compulsory SACE subject, completed in Year 11 or 12. It provides an opportunity for the student to undertake in-depth research and study a topic that is of interest to them. Beyond this project, Trinity students have an amazing choice of subjects to choose from. Students can negotiate a personalised learning pathway and undertake SACE subjects and VET courses at the same time to obtain two graduating certificates. Students may apply for tertiary scholarships whilst at school, and the College wholeheartedly supports such processes as UMAT interviews and exams, Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), Headstart Scholarship (University of Adelaide), the American university exams process (SAT) and Performing Arts auditions.

Vocational Education & Training Students in Years 11 and 12 can choose to pursue Vocational Education and Training (VET), an option which is currently taken by about 30 percent of the students. The diverse range of available courses allows students to earn credits within the SACE. They also lead to apprenticeships and employment in the trades and sectors such as business, health, hospitality and retail.

To further prepare our students for the workforce, we offer career guidance activities. These include a careers event where a variety of guest speakers will casually talk with students about their occupations. We formally host tertiary institutions at the College to provide timely information about qualifications, processes and deadlines. Students can undertake work experience and work placement whilst at Senior School as part of the VET pathways.

Traditions Service learning is a pedagogy that links our academic learning to student-directed community service and intellectual enquiry and reflection in all year levels. It enriches the learning experience, teaches civic responsibility and strengthens communities. With strong connections to local government, our students are frequently asked to be youth committee advisors, speak at internationally themed events, participate in local ANZAC Day services, compete in the Royal Adelaide and Gawler Shows and assist with community projects. Assisting our students on their pathway to adulthood are two significant events on the College calendar, the Year 11 Presentation Ball and the Year 12 Formal.

Our proactive approach is complemented by school counselling services, targeted support programmes and a partnership with Flow Psychology and Therapeutic Services for easier family access to clinical psychology, speech pathology and occupational therapy services.

Parents have numerous opportunities to participate in school life, either formally through a Parents’ and Friends’ Committee, the College Foundation, Old Scholars’ sporting clubs or through volunteer work such as listening to reading in the classroom, assisting with excursions, managing teams, helping with House events and more.
