Texas High School Teacher Job Description The high school instructional teacher is a highly qualified teacher responsible for the delivery of specified course content.

Responsibilities of a High School Teacher: Orient students to their coursework and communicating course and school requirements. Adjust course content in the form of remediation, modification, and enrichment. Set deadlines for student work and grant extensions. Face-to-face meetings with students and teaching adult, as scheduled. Grade student work and enter grades into an online grade book in a timely manner. Participate in State Testing. Contribute to and complete student report cards. Recommend promotion and retention. Communicate with parents as needed. Collaborate with other instructional teachers in the same school. Communicate with teachers and administrators as needed. Collaborate with other instructional teachers in the same content area. Attending all in person meetings as scheduled.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree Appropriate state certification Meet highly qualified teacher requirements as stated in No Child Left Behind Strong content and subject-matter knowledge Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students Strong written and verbal communication skills Organization and time-management skills Flexible schedule
