Personalize your MBA
Limitless opportunities
Complete your MBA in healthcare management on a part-time or full-time schedule, online or in a more traditional on-site classroom setting. On-site or online, you’ll be taught by faculty at the top of their fields, and you can keep working while you earn your degree. Hospitals, clinics, health insurance companies, consulting firms, planning and regulatory agencies and research firms are looking for exactly the kind of graduates this program produces: talented administrators and analysts ready to influence one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. economy. With a Clarkson MBA in healthcare management, you’ll be highly skilled and always in high demand.
Successful career outcomes Practical experience requirement
Healthcare is one of the world’s fastest growing industries. In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects that employment for medical and health service managers will grow by 18% over the next decade.
An internship is required for students who enter the program with little or no prior work experience. The University can/will waive the internship requirement for most students who are working full-time. For others, the internship is a valuable resume builder and can often lead directly to a job offer. The healthcare internship is typically undertaken in the summer between the first and second year of the graduate study program. However, many students opt to fulfill this requirement on a part-time basis (10 to 20 hours per week) throughout the academic year. Our healthcare management students successfully obtain high-quality paid internships with wellknown and respected regional healthcare organizations, such as CDPHP, MVP Health Care, Albany Medical Center, Ellis Medicine and Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
“My internship was a success because of what I learned — and then applied — in my Healthcare Operations class. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that combination of education and experience.” Ryan Mancari ’11, Assistant Director, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System
