Assistant Supervisor to Track and Field Head Physical Education Department Scope: Supervise and coordinate the University’s track and field throwing sports programs (discus throw, javelin throw, hammer throw and shot put), including assistant coaches and personal trainers; Plan and supervise the University’s throwing sports athletes; Structuring of the University’s throwing sports teams; Train and mentor throwing sports coaches; Train and prepare coaches and students in the development of trainings and sporting events; Recruit national and international student-athletes for the track and field program; Control of the student athletes inventory; planification, organization, technical direction and supervision of throwing sport events sponsored by the University; Coordinate participation in local, national and international events; Supervise sport facilities; Draft annual work plan at the beginning of each sports season; Draft final report to be evaluated by the Institutional Track and Field Director; Travel once a week to the University’s Ponce Campus located at: 104 Turpeaux Ind. Park, Mercedita, Ponce, PR 00715; Travel to college-level sport events within Puerto Rico and, occasionally, to national or international sport events. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or Sports Training. Candidates must have 24 months of work experience, with or without pay, training athletes for track and field throwing sports events at the state, national or international level. Must be willing to (1) travel once a week to the University’s Ponce Campus; and (2) travel frequently within Puerto Rico to college-level sport events and, occasionally, to national and/or international sport events.
