EDP UNIVERSITY celebró este pasado jueves, 25 de abril, el desfile de modas Wild and Free, donde 14 estudiantes del Grado Asociado en Diseño de Modas Digital presentaron sus colecciones. Un jurado del campo de la moda evaluó a los noveles diseñadores que se dieron cita en el Recinto de Hato Rey. Del mismo modo, otros estudiantes del curso de Sastrería, que
se ofrece a nivel de Bachillerato, presentaron sus diseños masculinos. Todos los participantes se inspiraron en un animal y su hábitat, y contaron con la mentoría de la reconocida diseñadora de modas Lisa Thon. Durante el evento, el jurado eligió tres ganadores, resultando en un empate por el primer lugar entre Odalys Alicea y Loida Pérez, ins-
piradas en la Pantera y el Búho Snowy Owl respectivamente. Por su parte, Nicolmarie Aponte recibió el segundo lugar por su colección Litmus, inspirada en el Escarabajo Chlorocala. Cabe resaltar que las tres homenajeadas tuvieron oportunidad de presentar sus colecciones en San Juan Moda, la mayor plataforma de la Industria en Puerto Rico. Senior Mechanical Engineer: We are seeking a mechanical engineer which has knowledge in the design of plant utilities systems such as cooling tower water, chilled water, steam, compressed air and other manufacturing plant systems as well as piping design and distribution including knowledge of pipe flexibility analysis. Knowledge and experience in clean utilities systems and hygienic piping design and / or process product piping systems will be a plus.
Mechanical Team Supervisor / Manager: Our growth and the promotion of current leaders to allow them to pursue other roles requires us to seek a senior mechanical engineer with experience in the supervisions and management of a design team. Should have a strong technical background and must be capable of supervising and planning, staffing, distribution of the work of a mechanical engineering, design and drafting team in a way in which quality of the product is assured and commitments to our clients are met.
Process / Chemical Engineers: CRB is interested in Process / Chemical engineers with experience in the design of systems and projects for the pharmaceutical industry. We are open to consider Senior as well as all levels of experience.
Design and Drafting: CRB is seeking design and drafters that already have experience and knowledge in the use of Revit software. Piping, Process Piping / Mechanical is in higher demand, but all disciplines will be considered.
Administrative Project Controls/Office Management: With our planned growth comes the need for increased administrative / management resources. We need resource that can assist in the maintenance of documentation and communication tools used for projects plans, schedules and critical dates and to track resource assignments and resource availabilities. Maintaining a documented plan is critical to the management of large teams and decision-making processes in a design office. There are also opportunities to assist in other areas such as office management and accounting and marketing. We are receptive to receive resumes from persons with experience in a design and / or construction firm environment.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Responsible for the development and management of the facilities maintenance operating budget and capital projects during the calendar year, including forecast. Coordinate and implement an effective preventive maintenance program that grants a minimum operation downtime for all utilities and support systems. Maintain in good standing the plant ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Certification. Manage all plant projects required to achieve company objectives at the minimum plant cost. Primary contact/coordinator for facility during emergency conditions which have the potential to affect the facility such as atmospheric disturbances, hurricanes. Implement and promote the utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools in order to reduce waste and process variation to improve plant performance. Supervise outside service contractors for Pest Control and Housekeeping. Support all the safety initiatives in the plant. Maintain behaviors that improve our Environment, Health and Safety conduct in our facility. Job Requirements: Engineering Degree (BSEE, BSME, BSCHE, BSCE, or related Engineering Degree). Knowledge of FDA, EPA, EQS, OSHA and all related regulations. 5 -10 years experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in Facilities. At least 8 years supervising. Must have experience in Capital projects, Project Management and Lean Manufacturing. Must be fully bilingual (Spanish and English). Computer Knowledge. Knowledgeable of applicable CGMP’s, MDD (93/42/EEC), ISO 9001, EN 46001 and ISO 13485. Knowledgeable of Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and procedures.

Asegurar el cumplimiento de los estándares de calidad y seguridad. Requisitos: Mínimo un grado asociado en Ingeniería Mecánica o en eléctrica. Deseable bachillerato en Administración o equivalente. Conocimiento en logística, solución de “issues” mecánicos (troubleshooting). Habilidad matemática, orientado en los programas de computadora, Word, Excel, Power Point. Completamente Bilingüe, español e inglés. 5 años de experiencia en supervisión y producción. Poseer excelentes relaciones interpersonales.
