The Studio Class Act Performing Arts Studios is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Summer Dance Intensive. The Summer Dance Intensive is a 7 day Dance and Musical Theatre Program instructed at Class Act Performing Arts Studios, which is conveniently located at 2300 7th Avenue in Regina’s Warehouse District. Class Act Performing Arts Studios is comprised of two fully equipped large Studio spaces with beautiful parquet flooring, large windows providing plenty of natural light, full length mirrors, fixed barres, complete stereo systems and electric pianos. The Studio has washrooms and change areas for both girls and boys, a small kitchen with fridge and microwave, and a lobby area which will be equipped with tables and benches for meals. Dance attire, gifts and souvenirs can be purchased at Wear to Dance on 7th, the Class Act Performing Arts Studios’ store located in the building.
The Program The Program will be instructed by qualified and experienced teachers from Regina, Lethbridge and Vancouver. Please see detailed information contained in this brochure. The Program is divided into Junior and Senior levels: Junior Program Ages: 8-12 Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Classes: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Song & Dance. Senior Program Ages: 13 years and up Time: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Classes: Ballet, Floor Barre, Partnering, Pointe, Male Ballet Technique, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap. For Partnering, Pointe, and Male Ballet Technique the Senior students will be divided in two groups according to level of experience. Instructors will assess the students during the first day of classes.

Andorlie Hillstrom Director Andorlie is the owner and operator of Class Act Performing Arts Studios and is pleased to be celebrating 18 years of high caliber dance, drama and musical theatre instruction in Regina. She is also the founder and Artistic Director of Do It With Class Young’s People’s Theatre Inc. A professional actress and singer who has performed throughout Western Canada, Andorlie studied in the Bachelor of Music Performance and Drama Programs at the University of Saskatchewan, and continued scholarship studies in the Voice/Opera program at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts. She has performed at the Globe Theatre in Regina, Persephone and 25th Street Theatre in Saskatoon, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Rainbow Stage and Actor’s Showcase in Winnipeg; has performed several roles for Regina Lyric Musical Theatre and Regina Little Theatre. Andorlie directed “Annie” (1997), “The Music Man” (1998), “The Sound of Music” (2000) and 'Oliver" (2007) for Regina Summer Stage, and “The Apple Tree” (2000) for the Regina Lyric Light Opera Society. Additional credits include commercials, “Incredible Story Studio”, and recording of concert work for broadcast on CBC Radio and Television. Adorlie is the recipient of the 2002 YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Arts and Culture, the 2007 Community Builder Award from the Regina and District Association for Community Living Inc. and was pleased to be recently presented with a bursary for Do It With Class Young People’s Theatre Inc. by the former Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Lynda Haverstock, in honour of his Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex.
Monica Ventura Senior Ballet, Floor Barre, Pointe Work, Partnering Monica began her training at Ballet Raca e Magia in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She continued her studies at Studio Danca Rumo and Ballet Ilara Lopes. At Ballet Ilara Lopes she completed the Royal Academy of Dance Examinations to Advanced 2. Monica danced at a variety of national and international competitions, performing classical, neo-classical, repertoire and jazz works. She performed Paquita, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, La Esmeralda, Le Corsaire, and Les Shylphides.Monica was a soloist of Grupo de Danca Raca e Magia, Cia Danca Rumo and Principal at Cia Estavel Promodanca and Grupo Uirapuru. She has been teaching for the past 18 years and has prepared students for examinations and competitions as well as been head of dance at Instituto Divina Pastora and ballet coordinator at Ballet Carla Perotti. Monica assisted her husband Eduardo with the choreography for the Summer Stage production of Oliver, as well as choregraphed the Do It With Class productions of West Side Story, Titanic, The Rocky Horror Show, Into the Woods, Willy Wonka Jr, Les Miserables, Hair, As You Like It, Wind in the Willows and The Wiz.
Eduardo Ventura Junior Ballet, Male Ballet Technique, Partnering Eduardo started his dance studies in his native city of Mogi Mirim (Brazil) at Academia Eliana Furno Machado under the instruction of Eliana Furno Machado and Monica Truffi, where he learned a solid ballet training. After moving to Sao Paulo, Eduardo danced at Ballet Ilara Lopes under the instruction of Ilara Lopes and Jorge Pena. Under the instruction of Examiner Ilara Lopes, he completed his Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations up to Advanced 2, with Distinction in all levels. Eduardo danced at a variety of national and international competitions, performing classical, neo-classical, and repertoire works. Eduardo was a member and principal dancer of Grupo Uirapuru, Cia Estavel Promodanca, Ballet Lucia Millas, Corpo de Baile Jovem da Escola Municipal de Bailados de Sao Paulo, as well as guest dancer in several Studios and had the opportunity to dance at a variety of national and international competitions, performing classical, neo-classical, and a vast number of repertoire pieces such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, La Esmeralda, Paquita, Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, La Vivandiere, Pulcinella, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Cinderella. Since 2007, Eduardo teaches children aged 3-7 and prepares students of all ages for Ballet Exams and competitions.
Joy Ackerman Senior Jazz, Senior Tap Joy owns, directs and teaches full-time at Joy’s Dance Factory in Lethbridge, Alberta. She holds the R.A.D. Teachers Certificate and is a Registered Member and Classical Ballet Teacher Supervisor for the RAD.Authorised teacher of the Al Gilbert Tap Examinations and holds Grade 8 Tap Certificate as well as being a Honorary Certified Teacher of the ADAPT Jazz & Tap Syllabus. She has choreographed and performed for Lethbridge Musical Theatre and Foremost Theatrical Society. She also is on the Board of Directors for L.M.T. With over 37 years of teaching experience, she guides her students at Joy’s Dance Factory to excel at competitions, festivals, pageants and examinations. She also has adjudicated numerous festivals such as Dance Power, Dancin’ From the Heart and Kimberley Festival. Numerous former students are dancing or teaching professionally. Joy is delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of the Intensive Summer Dance in Regina this summer!

Randi-Lee Ullyott Junior Jazz, Junior Tap, Junior Song & Dance Randi-Lee received her training at Jaquie’s Dance Academy under the instruction of Jaqueline Huck. Throughout her dance training Randi-Lee studied various disciplines of dance including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Modern Dance. She has achieved her grade 8 award under the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, her Advanced Jazz under the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association, and her Advanced Tap with Honors under the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association. Randi-Lee has 8 years of experience teaching dance in the Regina area and is currently teaching jazz and tap at Class Act Performing Arts Studios in Regina. She is a full member of the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association and is concluding her studies with the Royal Academy of Dance in obtaining the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. She has also trained in writing and reading Laban Dance Notation at the University of Regina. Randi-Lee was a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders Trailblazer team and had the opportunity to participate in Grey Cup Regina and Grey Cup Ottawa. In 2006, she received her Bachelor of Education specializing in Arts Education with a major in Literature and a minor in Dance from the University of Regina and teaches grade 5 in Regina.
Armando Bottaro Senior Contemporary Armando started his dance studies in his home city, Siracusa, Italy studying under Neva Dimova, former first dancer for The Opera Theatre in Sofia, Bulgary. After winning a scholarship to the prestigious A.I.D (Italian Dance Association) he moved to Rome to continue his studies in the disciplines of Vaganova Ballet, Pas De Deux, Louis Falco Modern, Alvin Ailey Modern and Horton Modern. He proceeded to work with the OFF JAZZ Company in Nice, France studying Matt Maddox Jazz, Limon Modern, Tap and choreography training. Following France, Armando worked and completed his studies in classical ballet, pas de deux, repertoire and character work, receiving his ballet diploma with The Company Classical Ballet Association of Reggio Emilia under the direction of Liliana Cosi and Marinel Stefanescu. Armando has worked for many companies and theatres in Italy including: National Ballet Company, New Euroballet Company, Renato Greco Dance Company, Mvula Sungani Italian Dance Theatre, Ballet of Naples, Rome Opera Theatre, Greek Theatre of Siracusa, In Scena Opera Company, and Spazio Dance Company; as well as teaching and choreographing around Sicily and Italy. In the last five years he has performed for Royal Caribbean International, having the opportunity to travel the world learning other cultures and styles of dance. This is where he met his wife, Chrissy, a dancer from Regina. Armando and Chrissy have recently retired from the professional life and are now ready to settle down here in Regina where he is excited to share his experience and passion for dance.
Mackenzie Green-Dusterbeck Junior Hip Hop, Senior Hip Hop Mackenzie Green-Dusterbeck, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, began dancing at the age of eight; he has since studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, tap, acrobatics, and musical theatre. His training has taken him across Canada, as well as Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston, and numerous locations in Europe. Mackenzie has taught at numerous dance centers, including Harbour Dance Centre, and Drive Dance Centre. Mackenzie has received numerous scholarships to places such as; The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Banff Centre, The Source Dance Company and The American Dance Awards, and has travelled with Danny Austin’s DanceSask troupe throughout Europe. He has also performed and choreographed for artist’s such a Plex and Adaline. Mackenzie currently resides in Vancouver, B.C. where he has performed in projects such as, “The Cell, The Electronic Series, Xibalba, Sold Doubt and The Legacy Project”, with MOVE: The Company, “Relache”, as well as Kinesis Dance Somatheatro’s production of “Box4”.
Robert Ursan Song & Dance (Voice) Born and raised in Regina, Robert Ursan received degrees from the University of Regina Conservatory of Music, Oberlin College in Ohio, University of Toronto and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. He was the first recipient of the Luciano Pavarotti/Toronto Symphony Award, receiving the honour when attending the Opera School at the University of Toronto. He has sung with opera companies in Canada and Britain as well as performing in theatre at Alberta Theatre Projects and Globe Theatre. Robert’s first opera was premièred by Prairie Opera and The Regina Symphony in 1992. Since that time he has written several operatic and musical productions, scores for Globe Theatre and many song cycles. In the last 10 years Robert has written, performed in, directed or music directed over 100 theatrical works and is currently the Musical Director for Do It With Class Young People's Theatre and a private instructor of voice and Piano.

FAQ
Hi Dance Students! Thank you for registering for the Summer Dance Intensive. I hope that you are getting excited! I know that I am! Please see the answers to some of your frequently asked questions below: 1. I am from out of town. Is there a hotel that you would recommend? TBA 2. Do I have to bring a lunch? Snacks? Yes! Please bring lunch, healthy snacks and drinks with you each day. A water bottle clearly marked with your name is a necessity! There is juice, water and some snack items available for purchase at a modest cost at Wear to Dance on 7th, which is located on the Class Act Studios premises. There is a microwave and fridge available. 3. I am a Junior dancer. Am I allowed to leave the studios for the lunch break? Not unless you are accompanied by an adult or have written permission from your parent(s) to accompany another student's parent. 4. What dance attire/footwear should I bring with me? Please bring ALL appropriate dance attire and footwear with you to classes. Note that Ballet classes require proper bodysuits and tights for girls and tight-fitting tops and bottoms for boys. Girls, make sure that you have plenty of hair pins and hair nets for ballet classes. Non-marking in-door runners are acceptable for Hip-Hop. 5. What if I need new shoes or tights? Pins or hair nets, etc.? We have a full line of Bloch footwear and dance clothing and items available for purchase at Wear to Dance on 7th. Cash, Debit, Master Card and Visa is available for your convenience. 6. What time do I need to arrive for class? Please arrive 15 minutes early. The studio doors will be open 30 minutes prior to the first class each day. 7. Are there public phones available at Class Act Studios? Yes. 8. Is there parking available at the studio? Yes. There is a large parking lot located on the West side of the studio and further parking available on the streets near the studio.
