Day 1 Early Check in followed by a three course lunch, with time to relax before travelling the short journey to Highclere Castle. Gates open at 4.30pm. Enjoy a stroll around the fairground stalls, visit the Napoleonic re-enactors or watch the world-renowned Blades aerobatic flight display. The evening closes with Beethoven’s Wellington Victory, performed with a staggering 193 cannons, musket fire and fireworks followed by the traditional sing-along, flag-waving proms finale, including favourites Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and God Save the Queen.

Friday or Sunday (Depending on your travelling time you can either select to visit Bletchley on Friday before arrival at hotel or Sunday on departure from hotel. If you are travelling from further a field, recommend staying 3nts and spending the Sunday at Bletchley.)

Highclere Castle, made famous by the smash hit series Downton Abbey is the setting for this quintessentially English event. Stroll round the grounds, have a hamper and champers on the lawns and enjoy Classical music, performed by the New English Orchestra. There are displays, gun salute, traditional English sing-along, finishing with a Spitfire fly past and dazzling firework display.

We recommend taking sensible clothing, footwear and if desired a picnic, rug and a bottle of wine/champagne. Although, there will be a selection food and drinks available to purchase onsite. Picnic food boxes can be purchased at hotels for an additional charge.

Tuesday: Loch Ness Circular & Inverness Today we head for Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Much of the 66 mile journey hugs the shoreline of Loch Ness. We stop off at Fort Augustus at the head of the loch before proceeding past Urquhart Castle, where many “supposed” sightings of Nessie have been made. Time free in Inverness, we return down the eastern side of the loch, with more open vistas of loch and mountains. Back in plenty time for dinner. Wednesday: Small Isles Cruise Probably the highlight of the holiday will be the cruise to the small isles. The journey starts with a fabulous drive along the “Road to the Isles” stopping off at Glenfinnan and the Bonnie Prince Charlie Monument. Arriving in the coastal town of Mallaig to board the ship as foot passengers (dept 1015). Sit back and relax as the scenery of the small isles of Muck and Eigg is brought to you, with every chance of spotting abundant wildlife with many seabirds, dolphins, seals, whales and basking sharks in these waters. On Rum we have arranged for a guide to meet you with a private tour of lavish Kinloch Castle. There is approx. 20 minutes walk from the ferry terminal to Kinloch Castle. (Buggy transfer

The Crowwood is located 7 miles from Glasgow city centre just off the main road to Stirling, making it an ideal stopover hotel. The bar, restaurant and many of the bedrooms look out over the golf course. The hotel has seen several upgrades in recent years, providing Operators with a good all round hotel at a good price.

Beautiful hotel, located right on the lochside and only a 5 minute walk into Inveraray and it’s famous castle. This hotel is definitely one of the best hotels for groups to stay in if visiting Argyll. Public areas are spacious, bedrooms are of good quality, and leisure facilities are 1st class.

A recommended choice of hotel if you are looking for an hotel which is near to the city centre but not too noisy. Braid Hills sits in it’s own grounds in an elevated position providing glorious views of the city and castle – approx. 1 ½ miles away. The hotel itself is 1st class in all departments, with special commendation for it’s food.

Set in its own grounds in a quiet residential retreat and less than 2 miles from Princes Street. Often referred to as a country house hotel in the city. Inside, the furnishings and décor are very much in keeping with a Scottish Country House Hotel. Group rates are surprisingly low for the style and location of the hotel.

The Cairn is a popular hotel for groups. Not only is it a well presented hotel and professionally run but also it is only a 20 minute drive into Edinburgh. Group rates are20-30% cheaper than similar hotels in the centre of Edinburgh.Inside, there is a spacious restaurant with open views, a bar and all bedrooms are of similar quality and size.

We find the Leapark to be a really friendly and quirky place to stay. This hotel is a new member with Classic, and lots of groups have used the Leapark with rave reviews. The Montrose Park is located in the quiet mid-links area of Montrose, yet only a few minutes walk from the busy High Street and the beach. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring the Angus Glens and all they have to offer. Castles, including Glamis and Dunnotar, are a little over half an hour away. For golfers the Montrose Links, which is only 5 minutes walk away, is the fifth oldest golf course in the world.

Dating back to 1888, the Station has for along time been an intricate part of Perth. In 2011 the hotel changed hands into private ownership and since then has had a total makeover in all the bedrooms and public areas. The result being a stylish and charming hotel, very much in keeping with it’s Victorian façade. It’s central location means all local amenities are within easy walking distance.
