Reception Desk
PROJECT TYPE: BESPOKE FURNITURE YEAR: 2021 LOCATION: STOCKHOLM SIZE: 5250x900 mm
The brief was to design a bespoke reception desk to be located in a multifunctional building in central Stockholm. The task required a presentation of detailed technical drawings showing joints and materials involved. The desk needed to have space for two receptionists, storage, and cable-management. The materials selected had to be sustainable, follow a Criteria Matrix, and be locally sourced. Shown here above, a rendered visual of the reception desk in a context.
D esign D evelopment Materials
Walnut Veneer
Anodised aluminium in a brushed gold finish
The materials research was conducted with sustainability as a main focus point. For this project, all materials are locally sourced with two different types of wood, as the Swedish territory is covered by 69% of FSC certified forests. The chosen solution incorporated reclaimed pine wood for the skeleton battens which is very durable. The walnut veneer sheets, also from a sustainable plantation, were attached to substrate panels made of recycled juice packaging. This is an innovative material, being 100% recycable and recycled. To add contrasting details and edges, recycled aluminium was used. Aluminium as primary material is not sustainable, while recycled aluminium requires only 5% of the energy needed for the primary material.

PROJECT TYPE: RESIDENTIAL YEAR: 2021 LOCATION: HAMPSHIRE (UK) SIZE: 150 m2
The brief was to transform the ground floor of a 200-year old rural cottage into a functional space for a couple and their two teenage children, and make it a place where they can work from home, exercise and home school. The family loves an eclectic style with contemporary and vintage mixed together, pattern and colours. The clients are very keen on sustainability and to upcycle furniture when possible.
15
AMARA is a leading online platform with over 300 of the world’s most exclusive luxury home brands. To support emerging talents and be engaged with the interior design community, AMARA hosted a Student Interior Design Competition with KLC School of Design in July 2021. I was awarded Overall Winner, after three judges, being three interior design industry professionals, selected 15 shortlisted entries. "I thought Claudia’s spatial planning was very good and I loved her used of colour, pattern and texture. She offered some clever design solutions to what was a tricky brief. There was a strong continuous thread from initial concept right through to her final visuals. Her presentation boards were excellent and her visuals really sold the overall design scheme." - Charmaine White - Founder of The White House Interiors

A modern living and dining area designed for Minotti Stockholm, featuring some of their bestsellers furniture. The subtle palette with light grey, blue and white is the perfect background to the double-side fireplace, the focal point of this modern room. Tactile textures and materials, such as Carrara marble, give a sense of luxury and create a sensorial experience for the homeowners. The ceiling with white oak panels create an impeccable mix between Scandinavian and Italian Design.
