Women in Media Lunch The IFRA Expo is the stage for launching a networking platform called "Women in Media."

"When I joined the IFRA Expo the first time, I felt like the only woman there, and I have to say, it hasn't changed a lot." With those words, WAN-IFRA Director Sales and Marketing Ioana Sträter welcomes the – mostly female – guests at the "The Journey to the Top - Women in Media Lunch". The idea behind this side event is to launch the platform "Women in Media," reachable on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, which should give female professionals in the media a possibility to learn more about the industry, to network, share experiences and find new friends. At the podium Daniela Kraus (Managing Director, Forum Journalism and Media), Gabriella Franzini (CEO, Eidos Media, which sponsored the lunch), Sally Pirri (Production Director, Globe and Mail), and Claudia Trimde (CEO, Le CITY deluxe) talk with moderator Melanie Shah about the challenges they have faced and give tips to younger women. A study which was realised in 95 countries shows that the proportion of women in the media business is just about 37%. In top management positions only 27% are female.
