HELLO... Thanks for taking the time out to read up on me and for being interested in my career so far. Racing is what I’m good at and it’s what I want to do. In all honestly though I’ve not chosen the easiest sport to compete in, especially from a financial perspective and I’m sure my Dad Mick’s bank balance would have looked much healthier if I’d become a footballer. Dad’s belief in me and the financial sacrifices he’s made for me, mean I would never have got this far without him and for that I’m very grateful. Me and Dad are one of only a couple of privateers competing at this level. Being a privateer means that I don’t
have a team of mechanics, I don’t have a choice of cars to race in, I don’t rock up at races with a trailer full of kit, it really is just me and my Dad. But I am at the stage now where to continue my dream and race next season I can’t just rely on Dad, I need more financial help. Each race weekend costs around £5000 to take part in and we would love your help to keep me on track next season. We’ve got some great opportunities that you can be part of. You can help me fulfil my dream and I can help get your brand more coverage. Have a look and see what you think and hopefully you’ll join us to become part of our journey….

MEET. GEORGE SUTTON George Sutton is just 16-years-old and can’t take his official driving test for a good few months. Despite that he’s been racing since he was eleven!
GEORGE RACING AT OULTON PARK
TAKING ON THE GIANTS AND SPEEDING UP THE RANKS... He’s just spent the season racing against ex formula one drivers and some twice his age in the Mini Challenge UK Championship JWC Class, finishing 8th out of 32 in his first year competing at this level. He won his maiden race at Oulton Park and finished inside the top ten for the last eight races of the season, a fantastic achievement for someone so young. 4
FATHER AND SON TEAM... George and his 56-year old Dad, Mick are one of only two privateers who take part – that is, they don’t have a team around them. There is no team of mechanics, no trailer full of spares, no team manager, it’s literally just the two of them who are the underdogs, battling to win against those with more money and more experience. He’s been racing for the last six years and started

CHAMPION FROM AN EARLY AGE... The teenager lives in Market Drayton in Shropshire and left Grove School in the summer to fulfil his dream. George’s career started on the GoKarting Circuit where he was the Junior Club Champion TKM at Hooton Park in 2012/13 and in Northern TKM Champion in 2014.
his racing career karting. At 13 he was seeded 10th in the country, before progressing through the Junior Saloon Car championship in a 1600cc Citroen Saxo, aged 14.
DOWNTIME... When George isn’t racing he works at a local garage as an apprentice vehicle technician, and at weekends for a karting race team where he provides driver coaching and mechanical support for up and coming younger drivers. His dream is to drive professionally and compete in the British GT Championship via Mini Challenge in 2018 and BTCC in 2018 and BTCC in 2019.

George’s Dad Mick Sutton is his biggest fan and supporter. Without Mick and the financial support he has given, George’s racing career would not have got this far.
We’ve had to make sacrifices to get to this point. Mostly it has been self-funded, apart from some sponsorship monies which we have been lucky enough to attract from local business. MICK SUTTON

to continue we need to get sponsors backing us.

REAL POTENTIAL We’ve got to the point where going without holidays, nice clothes and meals out isn’t enough anymore. If George’s motor-racing career is going
George has got real potential and we’re looking for sponsors who want to back the underdog and team up with him for the future. It really is a case of George competing against the big boys, who have far more funding and whole teams around them. The weekends are extremely hard work for both of us but time and time again George’s talent gets us through. What George lacks in age and funding, he makes up for in ambition, singlemindedness and drive. I wouldn’t have invested so much time and money if I didn’t think he had the skills and talent to make it. George Sutton Racing | Mick Sutton

AN INTERVIE WITH GEORGE WHEN DID YOU START RACING? Around six years ago now in 2011. I just had a go at go-karting on holiday and absolutely loved it. WHEN DID YOU START TAKING IT SERIOUSLY? It was probably a couple of years later in 2013. I’d been go-karting as a hobby really but started to become good at it, so decided to start taking it more seriously and actually competing. WHY DO YOU ENJOY IT SO MUCH? The thrill of driving fast and the adrenaline rush are what really have me hooked. I’m very focused and single minded so motorsport is perfect for me. WHAT ARE YOUR RACING AMBITIONS FOR THE FUTURE? Next season my aim is to win Mini Challenge JCW and move up to British Touring Cars. Ultimately though, I want to be a professional racing driver. I’ve come this far already but I want to go all the way. WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT TO THE DRIVERS YOU RACE AGAINST? The fire in my belly to succeed and the desire to win is what sets me apart. I don’t view the other drivers as competition, I just see them as 8
something I have to get past to achieve what I want to achieve. WHY SHOULD COMPANIES SPONSOR YOU? I’m good at what I do and I would like to think I’m a great role model for youngsters my age. It takes hard work, dedication and guts to race at any level but especially for someone my age. I think that would make me a great ambassador that any brand would want to be associated with. NOW THAT YOU’VE LEFT SCHOOL, WHAT’S THE DAY JOB? I’m a motor-vehicle technician at a local garage. I live and breathe cars so it’s the perfect job for me, until I can race professionally full-time. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE SUBJECT AT SCHOOL AND YOUR LEAST! I didn’t have one to be honest because school wasn’t really for me. WHEN YOU’RE NOT RACING WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND TIME DOING? I love training to be a mechanic and working as a driver tutor for a gokarting team in my spare time. I’m like any other lad my age though – I like enjoying myself and being with my mates.

EW WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU? That’s simple - winning! WHO IS YOUR HERO? I’m sure people would expect me to say someone like Lewis Hamilton. I obviously admire him for everything he has achieved but in all honesty it has to be my Dad. Without him, I wouldn’t be doing something I love so much. DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? If you’re not first your last and next season that’s a motto I’ll be following.

LET’S WORK TOGETHER
Even at 11, I knew driving was something I wanted to pursue. You can’t beat the feeling of being behind the wheel and driving competitively. I’m just extremely lucky that so far my Dad has supported me financially. It’s costing around £50,000 a year to compete at the moment and if I’m going to be able to move up the ranks it’s going to cost more in the coming years. We really need some help financially if I want to continue racing next season, which I want more than anything. GEORGE SUTTON
