ALL IN

Dear Friend,
Throughout the course of biblical history, whenever God wanted to bring forth change in a world, He called for an awakening of his people. In our lifetime, there has been at least five “Great Awakenings” dating back to the 1700’s. These awakenings happened in times where the world was in peril, and people had forgotten God. They began to live their lives immorally, fearfully, and oppression swept the nations. However, God called forth a remnant of His Glory to be manifested in the earth through His people and revival broke out causing change to happen. The great awakenings from the past not only empowered God’s people, but it caused them to bring about freedom and deliverance to all that encountered them. We believe that God impresses on us to birth an awakening right now, in this season and He wants it to begin with us. Prophet Ezra wrote in 2 Chronicles in the mid 400BC, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” If ever there was a time that God’s people need to arise, it is now! Will you join us in this 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting to be the change that the world desperately desires? In the next 21 days, we will use prayer strategies from the 12 Gates of Jerusalem in the book of Nehemiah to explore and ignite a spiritual awakening for us corporately and personally. These gates focus on the main factors of our spiritual walk and will help the remnant to rebuild our nation and ultimately the world. On this journey, set aside time to read through this devotional, study the Word and seek God for a greater discernment and anointing to walk out this commission of 2 Chronicles. Whether you have prayed and fasted before, or if this is your first time, you can start where you are and experience what God has in store for you in a powerful way.
The tools provided in this devotional are practical guidelines to help you navigate through this 21 Days of prayer commission. As you read over this information, please consider how it applies to you and your personal circumstances and convictions. Use the SOAP Method (Scriptures, Observation, Application, Prayer) for allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Now, are you ready to “awaken” the spiritual giant that lies within you to take back our nations for the Kingdom of God?

FASTING TIPS Fasting is a principle that God intended for everyone to be able to enjoy. It’s not a punishment; it’s a privilege! By making fasting a way of life, you can get closer to God and grow in your spiritual walk like never before. Fasting is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us for our daily lives. Through fasting, you can experience a release from the bondage of sin ... restoration in your relationships ... financial blessings ... spiritual renewal ... supernatural healing and so much more! When you fast, you open up the blessings and opportunities He has provided for you. Biblical fasting takes a lot of discipline and strength—strength which you can only receive from God. Matt 6:33 says, When you seek God, and His Righteousness, He will reward you. Isaiah 58:6 “[Is] not this the fast that I have chosen to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” Ezra 8:21-23 (TLB) “21 Then I declared a fast while we were at the Ahava River so that we would humble ourselves before our God; and we prayed that he would give us a good journey and protect us, our children, and our goods as we traveled. 22 So we fasted and begged God to take care of us. And he did.” How to Begin: Start with a clear goal. Be specific. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Pray daily, and read the Bible. 4

Preparing Spiritually: Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weaknesses. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2). Deciding What to Fast: Decide ahead of time the type of fasting you choose, it is up to you. Remember to replace that time that you would have spent eating, with prayer and Bible study. CORPORATE FASTING There is power in Unity! God’s anointing will break the yoke of bondage. 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (NIV) “14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.” In corporate prayer and fasting, there is tremendous power. DIFFERENT TYPES OF FASTS: • Full Fast: Drink only liquids, usually just water • Daniel Fast: Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables. • Partial Fast: Fast a meal. Some fast from sun up to sunset. 5

DAY 1- HIS MERCY & SALVATION (SHEEP GATE) Read John 10: 1-27; Matthew 18:12-13; Nehemiah 3:1; Psalm 119:9 In the passages of scripture in John 10:1-27, Jesus explained His position among the sheepfold. He proclaimed Himself to be “the door to the sheep,” in which He laid down His life as a sacrificial lamb for our salvation and our eternal life with Him. He also proclaimed His position as the Good Shepherd who leads and guides His sheep. His sheep are accustomed to hearing His voice and therefore, will not be lead astray by strangers. These scriptures and the ones found in Matt 18:12-13 coincides perfectly with the representation of the Sheep Gate of Nehemiah 3:1. The Sheep Gate is the first gate mentioned in Nehemiah. This gate was constructed with a wall between two towers: The Tower of the Hundred which means “One Hundred” and The Tower of Hannel which means “God’s Mercy.” In the parable of the lost sheep, Jesus asked the question, “If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?” Maybe today, you are a lost sheep, or a part of the sheepfold but find yourself led astray, the key is to return to the Door of the Sheep and the Good Shepherd. If you have already considered yourself a part of the sheepfold, it is time to lead others back to Him. REFLECTION • •

Can you pin-point the day that God brought you into the sheepfold through Jesus Christ? Do you remember your thoughts and emotions? Has God ever asked you to step out of your comfort zone to share His message of salvation with a loved one or stranger? Did you take that step? How did it impact you?

ACTION • • • •

Write down a list of those you know that need to experience God’s love, mercy, and salvation. Pray that God gives you divine opportunities to share your story and bring others into the Kingdom of God. You are about to become greater “Fishers of Men.” Make plans to attend every night of Nights Ablaze, January 11 – 15. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 2 – FISHERS OF MEN (FISH GATE) Read Matthew 4:19-20; Nehemiah 3:3 We transition from the Sheep Gate to the Fish Gate, which represents discipleship and the call to be “fishers of men.” It is not by happenstance that these two gates are in alignment. Once we have become a part of the flock, experience His mercy and gift of salvation; we are now called to lead others to him through discipleship. We are all called to disciple no matter our positions, education, or gifting; we are all called to reach the lost and the broken and tell them the good news of the gospel. Simon Peter and Andrew were simple fishermen, casting their nets into the sea when they encountered a man named Jesus. Jesus looked at them and spoke these words “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. They would later become one of the twelve disciples that would change the lives of many. Today, we have people searching to fill a void with false doctrine and materials things. They are lost and can’t find their way, but we have access to their answer…Jesus. Cast your nets because many are waiting to experience what you have already found. REFLECTION • •

God is calling us to become “fishers of men”. Is there anything holding you from fulfilling this request? Where do you see need for an increase or improvement that would allow you to reach more people?

ACTION • • •

8

Pray that God would open your eyes and heart to embrace those who are lost and broken, and to extend God’s love and mercy towards them. Discipleship is simply sharing God with others who do not have a relationship with Him. Don’t fear because God is with you. Start with those around you. Cast your nets close and once they are full, cast a little further. Make plans to attend every night of Nights Ablaze, January 11 – 15.

DAY 3 – OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY/FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS (OLD GATE) Read: Jeremiah 6:16; Jeremiah 39:3; Nehemiah 3:6; Job 12:12 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (NJKV) Paul and Timothy understood the need to put away the old things of their past to walk in the newness found in Christ Jesus. For us, “old things” may include past relationships, past experiences, past hurts, past burdens, etc. Whatever it may be, God has given you a newness based on His Truths. You are made new, and the past no longer has rule over you. As we walk this Christian journey, there will be moments when the past will try to resurface, but rest assure, it is covered under the blood of the Lamb. Like the Old Gate in Nehemiah, which represents letting go of things from the past while learning from the foundational truths, we can let go of those things which are behind and hold onto the truths that are in Christ. He is the Way (Door to Salvation and Redemption), the Truth (the Word), and Light (Deliverer and Freer of Sin). Since all truth is found in and through Him, we must now partake of His truth (the Word) daily. The Word will equip, empower, and bring illumination to the hidden places where God needs to restore you. REFLECTION • •

What “old things” have you allowed to take rule over your life? Think of some areas in your life where you have allowed those “old things” to remain. How are you going to start to close those doors?

ACTION • • •

Find scriptures to counter the influence of those “old things” in your life. Pray the scriptures and ask the Lord to seal the entryway. Make plans to join us tonight for Nights Ablaze.

DAY 4 – LOWLY PLACES (VALLEY GATE) Read Matt 13:19-21; Psalm 23; Nehemiah 3:13 Picture for a moment, you are a mountain climber about to climb Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. However, surrounding this magnificent beauty are valleys. Valleys are where endurance and strength are tested, and humility is increased. Valleys are elements that attack the mind and the spirit to prevent you from moving forward. Do you give up and turn back, or do you continue moving forward? The Valley Gate represents lowly places and trials we may face in our Christian walk. Being in seasons of lowly places or valleys is never easy; it is hard, uncomfortable and none of us want to go through it, but let’s face it, we will all have them. Valleys are not there because you have done something wrong, it is just a stop along the journey to the mountaintop. Valley seasons causes our reliance on God to become stronger and our hearts to become humbled, and our spiritual walk is strengthened. God uses these seasons to cultivate our spirit man for our calling. There are two key things during the valley seasons: 1) you are not alone for “God is with you” and 2) valleys are there to equip you for the next season or assignment so don’t remain there. REFLECTION • •

Have you ever experienced a valley season before? What are some valleys you experiencing that season now? What do you believe God is trying to get or birth out of you?

ACTION • • •

10

Don't allow valleys to stop you from moving forward. Know God is with you and has already provided you protection and a way out. Make plans to join us tonight for Nights Ablaze.

DAY 5 – CLEANING HOUSE (DUNG GATE) Read Matthew 4:19-20; Philippians 1:6; James 1:2; Nehemiah 3:14; Matthew 7:22-23; Romans 5:5 We hear a lot about the "refiner's fire,” which is used in the purging and refining of precious metals such as silver and gold. Think about how often we place ourselves in the posture of those precious metals and how God refines us. In our finite thinking, we have placed Him in a place where he will cleanse us completely and make us pure as gold. Before moving forward, there is an element of the process that we must take part in, and that is the initial purging at the Dung Gate. The Dung Gate is aligned with the Valley Gate to its north and the furnace to the south. Spiritually, this sets precedence to purge all the rubbish that was brought to light during the valley. It represents the disposal of rubbish and the beginning process to go through the refiner’s fire. It is the elimination of things not intended to be a part of your life such as illnesses (physical/mental), harmful relationships, false teachings, other's rubbish, etc. It is even those things in which you tried to hide from God during the valley seasons. You know the ones you covered up and tried to mask with the aroma of off-scented praise. God knows and sees all. He did not become flesh through Jesus Christ to come and condemn you but, He came to love you and provide you freedom and liberty. It is time for you to do a little or a lot of house cleaning! Are you ready? REFLECTION • •

What are some of the areas in which you need to “clean house”? Where are some areas in which you allowed others to use your house as a dumping ground?

ACTION • • •

Cleaning house takes some time, but you have to start and continue until it is done. Remember, you will always need to do a little “Spring cleaning” so don't forget to put up your “No Dumping Zone” sign. Find scriptures about those areas and pray for healing and closure of every opened door. Make plans to join us tonight for Nights Ablaze.

11

DAY 6 – INTO THE REFINER’S FIRE Read Malachi 3:1 - 18; Isaiah 48:10; 1 Peter 5:10, Jeremiah 23:29, Proverbs 17:3, Job 23:10; Psalm 12:6; Zechariah 13:8-9 We “cleaned house” and got rid of the rubbish, now it is time to enter into the refiner’s fire. Like any precious metal, the fire is there to refine and remove any impurities. And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” – Zechariah 13:9 In our current state, after being exposed to sin and the ways of the world, our metals (spirit/ mind) have been made imperfect. However, God has a way to restore us and bring us back to the image of Himself. This process will involve a time of breaking, a time in the crucible, a time of drossing, a time of intense heat, a time of purification and a time of reflection. He takes His time with us because we are fragile after going through the valley and purging. Then He gently cradles us in His hand and places us in the crucible, protecting us from the outside element, yet mending us in the fire. Once the broken places are mended, He watches as the dross (impurities) come to the surface and begin to remove it. He increases the heat temperature by seven times and begins the purification process. After He has completed all of this, He removes us from the Refiner’s Fire and sees a reflection of Himself. Now He can call us His People and we can call Him our Lord God. It is wonderful to know we serve an amazing God, who loves and cares for us so much that He takes His time in perfecting His perfect will and image in and through us. REFLECTION • •

Reflect on the process of the Refiner’s Fire for just a few moments. What part of the process do you think you are in right now? What have you learned or are you learning during the process?

ACTION • • •

12

The Refiner’s Fire is painful, but the outcome is a beautiful masterpiece of God’s glory. Pray God allows for you to see and understand the depths of His Love and Grace. Make plans to join us tonight for Nights Ablaze.

DAY 7 – FROM THE FIRE TO THE VINE Read John 15:1-15; Matthew 7:16-20 We have overcome the valley sessions, been purified through the Refiner’s Fire and returned to our original image in God regaining access to the “true vine”; Jesus. Though God is the vinedresser, we are connected to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we have access to the Father and access to all kingdom possession and authority. He is the "True Vine" and we are the branches, as long as we stay connected to the vine we will be able to bear fruit. If there is a disconnect for an extended period, our branches eventually wither and die. Those dead branches are gathered among the other fallen branches and destroyed by fire. This time it is not the Refiners Fire. However, if we abide in Christ and His word abides with us, everything that was birthed through the refiner’s fire will bring God glory. We will produce an abundance of fruit and be called his disciples. Disciples embrace the lifestyle of a witness and become driven by their faith to produce fruit. There are seasons of pruning and stormy weather. There are seasons where the abundance of fruit may vary, but at all times you should bring a harvest. No matter the season, just go forth and bear fruit. REFLECTION • •

What kind of fruit are you producing? Are they fruits of peace, joy, salvation, servanthood, etc.? Are you confident in knowing that the fruit you produce represents and lead others back to the Father?

ACTION • • •

Stay connected to the vine through His Word and His body of believers. Never allow seasonal conditions to detour you from producing fruit. Make plans to join us on Sunday, January 15th for Nights Ablaze.

DAY 8 – LIVING WATER (THE FOUNTAIN GATE) – HOLY SPIRIT Read John 7:38 - 39; Nehemiah 3:15; John 4:13-15 Located near the Pool of Siloah, where people washed before entering the temple, is the Fountain Gate. Its waters which flowed from the Pool of Siloah to the Old City through Hezekiah’s tunnel was known “chay mayim”; meaning “living water.” The “living water” as described in the scriptures have two representation. The first representation of the “living water” is that of thirsting in which Jesus offers a remedy to cease it to the woman at well. Jesus says to the woman, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. However, the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up everlasting life” (John 4:13-15). She understood the “living water” was her cleansing and salvation; thus, she replied, “Sir give me this water.” The second representation is the “living water” as the Holy Spirt that dwells within us. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is presented as the source of continual renewal, wisdom, and connection of communion between man and the Godhead. Because of the Holy Spirit’s residence in humanity, they can bring forth “streams of living water” which is God’s Word and wisdom. For John 7:38 declares, “To the one who believes in Me, it is just as the Scripture has said: 'Streams of living water will flow from within him.'" REFLECTION • •

What phase of “living water” are you experiencing in this season? Are you at a time of cleansing or renewal? Or are you experience a little of both? How often are you spending time in His Word and alone time with Him?

ACTION • • •

Set aside quality time to dive into the Word and spend time in His presence. As you plant your seeds for the harvest, remember to nourish your roots (your spirit) with the fountain of the living water. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

15

DAY 9 – LIVING SPIRIT FILLED (THE WATER GATE) Read Nehemiah 3:26; Nehemiah 12:37; Jeremiah 3:15; Ephesians 5:26; Psalm 119:9 While the Fountain Gate symbolizes rivers of living water sourced by the Holy Spirit, the Water Gate characterizes the sound doctrine in God and the ability to live it out fully and practically. Weekly people gather as a Body of believers to hear the word of the Lord. They come in excited about the worship and eager to listen to what “thus saith the Lord” for his people today. The pastors have studied all week long, spent time away with God just to prepare a feast created from the scripture God downloaded into their spirit-man. As they come out and deliver the transformational message that tugs at their heart sand challenges their thinking; the services come to an end, then a decision must be made of what to do with the Word that was spoken. Some may continue to dive into the Word deeper throughout the week, giving access to the Holy Spirit to broaden the spiritual scope of their thinking. Others wait until the next service to be refilled again. God has given shepherds after His own heart who feed His flock weekly with knowledge and understanding of the sound doctrine which is the Word of God. He uses His Word to sanctify and cleanse, that they may be a church without spot or wrinkle. The church in this instance is the individual believer. Though there is a global church, individual believers are also the church, the moving element, that carries the Word and His Spirit to the world for His glory. REFLECTION • •

The Word of God is the spiritual life source for all Christians. How much time during the week do you set aside for devotion and to read the Word? What can you eliminate from your daily activities to increase more time for devotion?

ACTION • • • •

Get into the Word on a deeper level. If need be, purchase a study guide. Start a Bible journal where you write down the scripture and what the Lord is speaking to you through that scripture. Pray for continual refreshing of anointing and kingdom revelations for all of our church leaders and pastors. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

16

DAY 10 – READY TO BATTLE (THE HORSE GATE) Read Revelations 19:11-16; Ephesians 6:10-20; Nehemiah 3:28, Jeremiah 31:40; 2 Kings 11:16 The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord. Proverbs 21:31 In biblical times, horses were used for warfare. They were most likely chosen for their strength, speed and the ability to understand commands and obey them. They have the potential to be trained and can fight with armor while carrying the load of its officer. Moreover, though it is in the make-up to develop a fight of flight response to battles due to the noise and confusion in battle, they will stand up to defend or protect their officers due to their relational bond with them. This bond creates a trust and reliance on each partner to fulfill the mission of the battle with success. The Horse Gate embodies the discipline, strength, endurance and agility in battle. It also embodies the place of total submission and rights to follow God’s leading. Spiritually, the Church (the Body of Believers) is the Horse Gate which puts on the armor of God and heads into battle for the cause of the Kingdom. The Father has trained us through Jesus Christ on how to fight the battle. We have lightened our spiritual loads through the ascension of the gates. The battle armor has been prepped and put into place. The Holy Spirit is set to speak the instructions of the Lord. We are ready to wage war on the enemy’s camp. As long as all other gates are functioning properly, God’s resource will continually flow without hindrance to us through the Holy Spirt and His Word. REFLECTION • •

Surrendering our rights to God may not always be easy, nevertheless it is so necessary to walk this Christian walk. Have you surrender your rights over to Christ? Why or Why Not? How are you being equipped for the time of spiritual battles?

ACTION • • • •

Read Ephesian 6 and put on the armor of God daily. Pray for the endurance and strength while in the battles. Don’t forget to assemble yourself with the Body of Believers; there is strength in the multitude. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

17

DAY 11 – PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD (THE EAST GATE) Read Zechariah 14:4; Nehemiah 3:29: Isaiah 40:3-5 Isaiah 39 ends with the prophet speaking about the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jews being carried away into exile. Jerusalem needed both comfort and forgiveness for their sins, which sets the stage for Isaiah 40:3-5. “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:’ Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert. A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’” These verses tell us that God had a plan to return to Israel and He was going to make His entrance by the East Gate. Every morning the sun rises in the east giving us new light for the day ahead, just as the Son of God has given new mercies. In order for us to experience the blessings from God, we consider our Christian walk as a spiritual return to God. Our preparation for His return is also a physical journey because our outward expression is always on display. Our lives are the only bible some people will ever read. In the Horse Gate, it expressed the necessity to prepare and advance in battle for the Kingdom of God. In essence, its stance also is to prepare the way for the second coming of Christ. In conjunction with the Horse Gate, the East exemplifies the knowledge of Christ’s return and our anticipation of that day. REFLECTION • • •

How do you give thanks for the new mercies and daily benefits given? How are you responding to God when He prompts you to repent? How are you preparing for Christ’s return for His church?

ACTION • • • •

18

Spend time in daily devotions listening to the voice of God. Create a plan to fix the broken relationships in your life that needs to be mended If the Spirit is speaking to you about spiritual potholes in your life, do something about it. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 12 – KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT (THE GATE MIPHKAD/INSPECTION GATE) Read Nehemiah 3:3; Matthew 25:14-30 The army has been called for battle in the Horse Gate. The preparation for the coming of the Lord is in order. We are about to line up for inspection at the Gate Miphkad. The name Miphkad means “assignment” and or “mustering.” At the gate, the kingdom assignment given is due for an inspection by the Commander and Chief. Hopefully, the inspection will go smoothly; if not there will be consequences and possible demotions. To illustrate the dynamics of kingdom assignment, we can take a look at the parable of the five talents in Matthew 25. It begins with this statement, “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.” The traveler had given out nine talents in total to his servant signifying the “perfect movement of God.” It also signified the ‘finality of God’s judgment”. Upon his return, he discovered the servant with the five talents acquired five more; the servant with two talents acquired two more, and the servant with the one talent hid his talent in the ground with no return. The two servants who acquired the additional talents were commended and given rule over much more. Consequently, the servant that hid his talent was cast into darkness and his talent was given to the servant of ten talents. The kingdom of heaven symbolizes the Kingdom in which Christ and God rules; and the talents symbolize the gifts and assignments given to us. What will you do with the talents God has given to you? REFLECTION • • •

What can assist you in being a better steward over what God has given you? Do you know your kingdom assignment? What gifts do you have that could be used for the building of the kingdom?

ACTION • • • •

Find any spiritual gifts test online if you have not attended SOD as yet, and see what your gifts are for this season. Make a list of your natural gifts and assignments God has appointed to you. Evaluate your progress in your assignment. Evaluate your use of your natural in building the kingdom. Keep Matthew 25: 29 before you; “For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of 19 this devotional for details.

DAY 13 – DOUBLE PORTION (THE GATE OF EPHRAIM) Read Nehemiah 8:13-16; Nehemiah 12:39; Galatians 4:4-5; Isaiah 61:7; 2 Kings 2:9; Deuteronomy 21:17 The Gate of Ephraim was named after the tribe of Ephraim, lineage of Joseph’s first born son. Ephraim means “doubly blessed” or “double portion.” God would honor him in giving him double portions of inheritance both in the spiritual and natural realms. God made Him fruitfully even during the times of his afflictions. This concept was translated to the Gate of Ephraim as representing the fullness of God. The fullness of God is made manifest in the lives of His believers, for He “predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both[a] which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him” (Ephesians 1:3-10). Through the provisions of redemption and adoption through His Son Jesus Christ, all will receive full rights and privileges of the being the son and daughter of the King. REFLECTION • • •

Do you understand the fullness of your rights as a daughter or son of the King? What areas of your life would you like to experience a double portion of God’s blessing? How do you know when you’re forgiven from your sins?

ACTION • • • •

20

Make it a daily practice to be a good steward over everything God has blessed you with. Make it a daily practice to thank God for his blessings as a sign of honor. Become missional by sharing your blessings to those who are in need. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 14 – CAPTIVATED BY THE KING (THE PRISON GATE/GUARD GATE) Read Nehemiah 12:39; Jeremiah 32:2; Romans 6:16-18 The last gate of Gates of Nehemiah’s procession and to spiritual awakening, is The Prison Gate or the Guard Gate. It is identified as the gate in which prisoners were taken through to the court of prisons by the King’s house. Only chosen gatekeepers from the lineage of Levi were able to guard this gate. It signifies the place of confinement and captivity. A place where freedom is restricted. A place where there is no way of escape; kind of like sin. Sin entraps man into a prison state causing them to be enslaved to their thoughts, desires and vain imagination. Freedom is in arms reach, but the discussion to close the door to sin and open the door to salvation depends on the enslaved. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, in hopes they will answer. Everyone who answers the call will be set free from sin. They are no longer slave to sin, but a bondservant of God. A bondservant is one who has been purchased and is owned by the buyer. To be a bondservant of God is to have been bought with the price of the death and resurrection of Christ. Being a bondservant is not a slave; it's the willingness of a servant who acknowledges the sacrifice and love from their master; and their eagerness to honor Him with their lives. Bondservants of God do not live a life of captivity, but one of freedom and continuous revival for they possess the “fruit of holiness” and “eternal life”. REFLECTION • •

DAY 15 - AWAKENING THE SPIRITUAL GIANT Read Ephesians 4:11; Acts 2:17-18; Romans 12:4-8 The world is changing swiftly, and the enemy has set up posts throughout the nation by infiltrating the homes through social media, music, television, films, schools, and government. The stage is set, the pathways are clear, and prayer has become the greatest weapon of our warfare. Strategic plans have been released and implemented in the spiritual realm, and there’s nothing in the distance that can interfere spiritually or emotionally because you have your weapons drawn and positions are fortified. You have been dormant far too long, spiritual giant awake now. Who is this spiritual giant? It is the Body of Christ who is a strong combination of the five-fold ministry and the average people sitting in the pews. The apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers were not intended to reach the world without the help of the church. The commission of the kingdom is for those who call Him Lord, and He will empower them and pour out His Spirit upon them in the last days. George Washington Carver’s prediction of the church in the last days proclaims “…there is going to be a great spiritual awakening in the world, and it is going to come from… plain, simple people who know—not simply believe—but actually know that God answers prayer. It is going to be a great revival of Christianity, not a revival of religion. This is going to be a revival of true Christianity. It is going to rise from the laymen, from men who are going about their work and putting God into what they do, from men who believe in prayer, and who want to make God real to mankind.” The signs of the times are clear. Satan has set up his army and appears to be winning but if the People of God Arise, he will no longer have the perceived advantage. The Bible tells us that in the end, we win, but the body of believers must align themselves with the call. This spiritual awakening is long overdue. Thus, "awaken" from your slumber spiritual giant, the kingdom of this world is at hand. REFLECTION • •

Understanding the current state of our world, what would be the first issue you would like to take before the Lord in prayer? If given the opportunity and divine instructions from God, how would you address this issue in the natural realm?

ACTION • • • • •

Pray God’s divine purpose and will for your life be revealed in this season. Pray for a spiritual awakening of the entire Body of Christ. Pray for an urgency to carry out this mandate throughout the Earth. Pray for a continual covering of protection and strength for God’s people during these last days. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of 23 this devotional for details.

DAY 16 – EQUIPPING OF THE CALLED Read Hebrews 13:21; Psalm 96:3 He does not call the equipped; He equips the called. We can look throughout the bible and read stories of people called by God. Some of them questioned their calling like Jeremiah, Timothy, and Abraham because of age issues; one thought he was too young and the other thought he was too old. Some felt inadequate like Moses and Gideon because they were not articulate or afraid. Some had a questionable past like Paul, Rahab, David and Mary Magdalene. Some were broken like Leah and Hagar. Whether we have had a past unpleasing to God, a feeling of inadequacy, or have an age issue; if God called you, He will equip you. Please understand that in those moments of vulnerability, God is perfecting His perfect will in you. He knows your insecurities, but He always knows your strengths. After all, He did place them within you and if He placed it in you, He will birth it out of you. You must be “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). Never fear the calling on your life, for God has given you everything you need to fulfill it. REFLECTION • •

What “calling” has God equipped or is equipping you to do? If you don't know your calling, what are some spiritual gifts, natural gifts and passions that can be used in for the kingdom?

ACTION • • • • •

24

Be careful not to stand in your calling before God’s timing. Surround yourself with people who will help cultivate the calling on your life. Find a spiritual mentor to help guide you along the way. Pray for the Lord to give you discernment and divine insight. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 17 – KEEP THE FIRE BURNING Read Leviticus 6:12-13; Romans 12:1-2. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. - Romans 12:11-12 Do you remember giving your life to Christ? You were on fire, right! Most of us could have been given the title of “Evangelist of the Year”; if that even existed. However, as we grow older in the faith, sometimes the external flame fire begins to diminish. Our fire represents our devotion and passion for pursuing God and the things of God. Therefore, when it starts to diminish, we need to check the temperature of our spiritual fervor. If our spiritual fervor was at a 99.9% when we surrendered our life to Christ; it should still be in that 95-99% range. We are completely aware of changes in life’s thermostat; that does not mean our spiritual life begins to diminish. The fact of the matter is, the spiritual should be increased to help you navigate through the natural. To keep our spiritual fervor from diminishing, we must 1) never lose our zeal; the pursuit of the Heart of God; 2) always rekindle the fire with the refreshing of the Holy Spirit and 3) continue to seek after God and His will for your seasons through prayer and fasting. REFLECTION • •

Has there ever been a season where your fire began to diminish? How did you respond to that season spiritual? How often do you have to rekindle the fire given to you?

ACTION • • • • •

Always keep your fire burning out, for it is the altar of your heart. Keep the Word before you and read it daily. Always allow the Holy Spirit to have room to lead and direct you. Don't busy yourself doing things that do not add value and prevent you from intimate time with the Lord. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 18 – STANDING IN THE GAPS FOR THE NATIONS Read Ezekiel 22:30; Colossians 4:12-13 Today, an ultimate divide has been created between the Church and its influence in the world. Where the Church had an open dialogue with non-Christian sectors to maintain a sense of morality and wholesomeness; it has been replaced with a voice that knows nothing of God. Nor do they desire to know Him because they are lost. The world has returned to a time where people believe sinfulness and immorality are acceptable. It has fallen to a state where the presence of God is no longer welcomed. An example of this is the fall of the United States of America. America was founded as a Christian nation, yet you would not know that was true today. People have become blinded either by the pursuit of things or by circumstances of life to the point they have not seen how the Enemy has come in and set up a guest room in their house. What is our stance as God’s people? “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14 We cannot look to the world to correct the issues of the world. We cannot look to social advocacies or governmental officials to heal this land. Though God will use them in His plans, God is calling for His people to stand. God is looking for a remnant of His glory in the Earth, His Church, who are willing to stand in the gap. He seeks people who are ready to go to battle on behalf of the disfranchised, the lost, the innocent, the broken, and the blind; to see them translated from darkness into the light. REFLECTION •

What are you praying for God to manifest in this nation? Or the nation in which you were born?

ACTION • • •

Pray for our city, state, and national government leaders. Pray they have a heart to receive and hear the directions of God. Pray for wise Christian counsel to be their influencers and not the world. Pray for a return to a Christian nation; not in the future but this now season. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 19– OPERATING IN KINGDOM AUTHORITY Read John 14:12; Luke 10:19: Matt 16:15-19; Matt 18:18-20 In this Awakening, we have declared war on the enemy and are about to advance into his territory to set the captives free. Taking on the full armor of God and the Holy Spirit as our guide, we are almost ready for combat. The Commander and Chief has the plan laid before you and the orders are clear. A moment of hesitation tries to influence your thinking; then He speaks, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” Do you understand what He is saying in this passage? When fear or uncertainty tries to enter in while you are preparing for battle, remember you possess kingdom authority given to you by God through Jesus Christ. Kingdom authority means you have dominion over all things since you have been adopted as a son and daughter of the King. This Kingdom authority not only gives you dominion and power; it also gives you access to territory (spiritually and naturally), Kingdom mindset (mind of Christ), revelation knowledge (kingdom insight and strategy) and how to function with kingdom authority. God has territory in the heavenly and the natural realm. Therefore He allows us to “bind and loose things in the heavens and the earth. However, this is done through operating through the mindset of Christ, to be able to tap into areas of the spiritual realm that the carnal mind cannot comprehend. Through Christ’s mindset translated to us through the Holy Spirit, kingdom strategies and concepts can be discovered and learned. Then Kingdom orders are given, and authority is released. Knowing who you are, what you are equipped with and knowledge of the end results makes every battle for a Christian operating in kingdom authority a little easier. While in the fight, we acknowledge weapons will form but, they will not overtake for “He has already overcome.” We win in the end! Therefore, as we advance further into the enemy’s camp show forth the orders and the authority of the Commander in Chief, the King of Kings, and retrieve what rightfully belongs to the kingdom. REFLECTION • •

Are you operating fully in your kingdom authority? What are the elements of operating in kingdom authority do you need improve upon?

ACTION • • • •

Activate and begin to walk in your kingdom authority. No matter the battles you will face know the battle has already been won. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you in prayer strategically. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 20 – SAVORY ILLUMINATION PT 1– SALT OF THE EARTH Read Matt 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matt:13-16 This scripture is a two-fold message, in which you cannot be one without the other. Today, let’s take a short journey on this first passage of scripture, the salt of the earth. Let me draw your attention to a popular tv show. Andrew Zimmerman of the show Bizarre Eats, travels all over the country eating all kinds of exotic foods, which is sometimes rotten with a horrible stench and off-putting flavor. Much like the food, the world can have off-putting flavors, but when salted and preserved, the flavor is wonderful. Too much salt will cause people to regret the meal. If we understand the true purpose of the salt, we will see that is not the case. Salt has two major purposes 1) to enhanced and 2) to preserve. In the process of preserving, salt acts as a protection, keeping the food from contamination for later use. Therefore, if we take this perspective, the outcome will be different. As the “salt of the earth,” God has called you to enhance others by empowering them into the faith. Then to help preserve them and to protect them from the elements from the world. These include sin, guilt, shame, despair, etc. The enemy uses these to try and persuade us to return to their former nature. REFLECTION • •

Examine your ‘Salt” distribution to non-Christians. Do you find yourself wanting to share the gospel but instead you keep it to yourself to prevent offense? How do you determine when you share and when to remain silent?

ACTION • • •

God always gives us opportunities to share the gospel. Always be ready to share when He is leading. Never compromise sharing God’s truth for your comfort. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

DAY 21 - SAVORY ILLUMINATION PT 1– LIGHT OF THE EARTH Read Matt 5:13-16 Today let's focus on the latter portion of the scripture stating you are “the light of the world.” Light is an amazing creation. In the absence of light, there is complete darkness, but once the light comes on the darkness disappears. It also exposes those hidden things; you know those things that others are not allowed to see (your hidden secrets). However, as born again believers God has translated us from the darkness into the light, therefore we become the light to shine for the world to see. We are the lighthouse to lose lost at sea, trying to find their way back home. We are the beckon of light to those trying to survive in a world that God did not intend them to be immersed in sin. Therefore, we present to them the light of God through the Jesus Christ. The light represents the truth of the gospel and is the only thing that can search a man’s heart and lead him to Christ. It is the only thing that can help him see the evidence of his ways. We cannot stand in this world trying to keep something that will make others free. God is calling us to shine our light in this dark world so they can experience and come to know Him through you. REFLECTION • •

Has your lighthouse been operational in the past year? How many people have you personally lead to Christ? Are you helping them continue their journey? Write the names of people that you praying for to receive salvation and/or deliverance.

ACTION • • • • •

Know your salvation is not only for you. It is for those whom you encounter on life’s journey that needs to know Him. You cannot hide your light for it is a beacon to others. The truth is not condemnation; it is life, hope, and freedom. Purpose in your heart to lead at least five people personally this year to salvation. Join us for nightly Corporate Prayer for our ministry gates; see schedule at the end of this devotional for details.

PREPARING FOR THE NEXT LEVEL Join us, as we come together for 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting from January 9 – 28 at the church campuses. Each night will have the opportunity to continue to join us for prayer of the Gatekeepers Prayer gates that represents the ministries of Christian Life Center (CLC). Gatekeepers Prayer Ministry is modeled after the twelve gates in Jerusalem referenced in the book of Nehemiah. The restoration of the gates in the book of Nehemiah was birthed in the pain of a man who witnessed the ruins and desolation of his nation. In response, Nehemiah set up 12 gates and set a captain for each gate. The captain had gatekeepers to work alongside him. Gatekeepers kept watch on the gates, watching for what may be coming in and out of the city. Everyone had the sword girded at their side! In building God’s Church, we must be alert in prayer and the Word (Sword of the Spirit) to stand watch against every attack of the enemy. CORPORATE PRAYER SCHEDULE • • • • • • • • • • • • •
