Zen Shiatsu is an ancient healing art that can enhance your massage practice. This technique addresses the subtle energy systems that help balance the whole body. This will be the first of a series all building on one other for you to give a complete shiatsu session. Traditional Zen Shiatsu is done on a futon mat on the floor. The beauty of this work is not only addressing the energy system for balance, but also the stretches that help open the body to release and relax. People are drawn to this also because it is done fully clothed. After the levels are completed we will talk about how you can bring this to the table, in what I call Tiatsu, and you will be more marketable and draw in a much broader population of clients. This class will be taught at the Grayslake campus in a matted room. *Please bring a sheet and 1 large towel to class. ARE YOU READY? ($50) Are you ready to start your own business? Before you take the leap, review the advantages and disadvantages of business ownership. What are the critical success factors that you need to focus on as you start your journey of self-employment? At the conclusion, you will know if you are ready to start a business now or if you need to prepare so you can in the future. STARTING YOUR BUSINESS IN ILLINOIS ($25) Starting a business in Illinois isn’t as simple as pressing a button. There are laws, regulations and reports a company must abide by and produce. We will discuss important aspects of business ownership and receive handouts that include information on agencies to contact. Don’t be sorry, be safe. Learn what is required to start a business in Illinois. BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS TEAM ($75) An entrepreneur’s success is often dependent on the professional team that supports the small business; the lawyer, accountant, banker, insurance agent, and SBDC advisor. In this series, small business professionals present information that a small business owner needs to know about legal, accounting, risk management, banking, and the Illinois Small Business Development Center at the College of Lake County. By taking this course, you will strengthen the relationships and talk their language. BUSINESS PLANNING MADE EASY ($75) Do you need a business plan and do not know where to start? GROW STRONG SERIES (SERIES OF FOUR (4) WORKSHOPS VALUED AT $240 FOR $200) Attention business owners, CEOs and Presidents. This series of workshops work together to provide a plan that will take your business to the next level of success. Topics include: Strategic Planning for Small Business; Cash Flow – Lifeblood of Your Business; Marketing for Success and Building Your Business by Building Relationships. Each e-training will provide additional information and perspective on priorities to set as you expand your business. STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR SMALL BUSINESS ($100) Strategic Planning introduces processes that focus on the four strategic areas common to all small businesses: Operations, Marketing, Finance, and People. The STAR process will develop a one-page strategic plan and a one-page action plan that can propel a business to higher levels of success. Join other small business owners to learn new processes and techniques that focus "on" your business. CASH FLOW - LIFEBLOOD OF YOUR BUSINESS ($50) Cash is often referred to as the lifeblood that enables a business to survive and prosper, and this is not without reason. While a business can survive for a short time without sales or profits, without cash it will die, so ready cash is the primary indicator of business health. For this reason the inflow and outflow of cash needs careful monitoring and management if the business is to stay healthy. Cash in King! MARKETING FOR SUCCESS ($50) Marketing your product or service can seem overwhelming with the many choices available to you. What will work for you varies over time and is based on an ever changing landscape which involves technology, economics, demographics, and other diverse internal and external factors. MAXIMIZE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS ($40) It does not always require money to increase production levels and promote higher sales. Building successful relationships with employees, vendors, and customers is vital to the success of an organization. Understanding the basics of relationship management is an inexpensive way to increase profits by working more efficiently and effectively.
