Introduction The character of the city Each of the UK’s biggest cities has its own unique character and its own specific industries and leisure attractions. Local councils have been keen to restore a sense of civic pride and identity through the regeneration of city centres. This is contributing to the UK’s urban population spending more time in key retail and business locations as people get out and about to enjoy their city centres more.

*National Travel Survey 2009

6 sheets and the urban environment 80% of all distance travelled in the UK is by car*. This makes our 6 sheet portfolio well placed to provide brands with a greater opportunity to connect with people’s lives around key towns and cities. Clear Channel is committed to improving and regenerating urban environments. Since 1967 we have been working with over 350 local authorities to supply and maintain the highest quality street furniture. We now provide 45,000 roadside 6 sheet advertising opportunities across the country’s most important towns, cities and conurbations. These are complemented by our digital and traditional 6 sheet presence in some of the UK’s key shopping malls and Sainsbury’s supermarkets. With Shoreditch at the heart of design and fashion, Hampstead as a literary hotspot, Camden’s musical influences, and Richmond and Bromley famed for their green space, London is often thought of as a collection of interconnected villages. London’s districts each have their own character leading to people making many short journeys in the city. London residents walk further per year than in any other region of the UK and the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme is helping to encourage Londoners and tourists alike to get out and about in the city. • Our exclusive contract with TfL and London Buses means we are able to reach nearly 80% of Londoners in a two week campaign. • We have panels right in the fashionable heart of London, including dominance of Oxford Street and High Street Kensington. • We also offer 6 sheets in London shopping malls such as the Plaza and Sainsbury’s stores – including the UK’s largest Sainsbury’s at Sydenham.

Sheffield A modern industrial great

Voted the ‘World’s Cleanest Industrial City’, Sheffield lies close to beautiful countryside that includes the popular Peak District National Park and the new 350-acre Earth Centre. The city was made famous as a key player in the metal industries, which were largely automated in the 1990s, forcing wide scale job cuts. However, Sheffield now maintains one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country due to its thriving service sector. For shopping, the famous Meadowhall complex is the top destination, while Sheffield Arena hosts a wide variety of entertainment. • Our 6 sheets cover the following major streets: Arundel Gate, Charter Row, Cumberland St, Eyre St, Fitzwilliam Gate, Haymarket, South St, The Wicker, Waingate, Castlegate, Snig Hill, Angel St, High St and Fitzwilliam St. • We also offer panels at Meadowhall, the no. 3 mall in the UK (Trevor Woods industry ranking). Meadowhall hosts 280+ retailers and attracts 25 million visitors per year.
