To ensure the utmost perfection for your day of frolicking along the beaches of Clear Lake, we’ve compiled a list of items one “must have” from our local stores.

Alas, as there are no nude beaches in Clear Lake, all beachgoers must be properly covered. Check out Unique Boutique or The Funky Zebras for all your swimming attire needs.

You’re guaranteed to get hungry at some point, so be sure to pack an adequate number of goodies to satisfy those munchies throughout the day. Simply Nourished and K&B Emporium have fantastic grab ‘n go items. Randy’s Neighborhood Market, as well as Fareway and Louie’s also have an abundance of options.

EVERYTHING “BEACHY”

No beach visit is complete without all the proper gear, and Larson’s Mercantile can hook you up. Floaties, sunscreen, sand toys, beach towels, sunscreen, water guns – they have all the things for beach day fun in downtown Clear Lake. Be sure to stop in and stock up! If you prefer a lazier, more relaxing day on the Lake, check out Movement Solutions! They have boats, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and more to ensure you have the most fun out on the water. Or, if you prefer solid ground, they carry campers to rent, bikes, and other various outdoor equipment!

Clear Lake is known for being one of the best fishing destinations in the Midwest. Stock up on fishing poles, accessories, and bait at Clear Lake Bait & Tackle, located along Highway 18. As a bonus, their staff is uberknowledgeable about where the best bite is happening!

THE NEED FOR SPEED

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of whipping across the water on a wave runner! Stop into Clear Lake Boats and check out their various rentals to satisfy your need for speed on the water. Or give Jake a call at Lake Time Boat Club and let them take the hassle out of your boating weekend at the Lake. You are in luck, as Clear Lake is home to Iowa’s fastest growing craft beer brewery. Stop into the taphouse at Lake Time Brewery or grab a six-pack to go. The cool, refreshing taste of barley and hops is sure to make your taste buds dance.
