1ST YEAR PROJECTS Boundaries & roofing
T
he first year allowed me to get a first contact with the rudiments of architecture and construction, and to gain technical means of representation, focusing on the design and vision in space. The work consisted in a succession of weekly projects, which have allowed me to become familiar with elementary concepts such as shape, geometry, space, light... I have learnt visualization and manipulation of these basic concepts through hand-drawing and models.

inside view / light quality
This project is about to install a
staircase in the light.
The deal is to structure a aedificandi band, to produce a strictly indirect light for an observer located at the entrance, and propose a staircase leading to a terrace height. Coherence between the stairs and light units and the quality of light and the route proposed guidelines have been my response to this project.

uring this phase, I worked at the scale 1 / 50. I selected the most representative apartment of the project, and worked room by room independantly -

2ND YEAR PROJECTS camping bungalows
I
aimed at developping an elementary concept for my bungalows, which has to be built quicly , easily, and be multiplied depending on the needs. The proposed designed stands on two stackable rectangle boxes. Each box defines one unit: a ‘day unit’, and a ‘night’ unit’. A common structure supports the two boxes, one of them standing in cantilver on the top on the other one.

These models show the different ways of organising the bungalows together. From the unit defined (2 stackable boxes), it exists different possibilities to juxtapose many together. Depending on the way they are oriented, they create either a central communal space, either more private outdoor space.
2ND YEAR PROJECTS camping restaurant
The restaurant takes the form of a collective
kitchen where people from the camping can gather to cook. It is an autosufficient restaurant, as it has its own kitchen garden. It is organised around a patio, which links together the different functions. It allows a double circulation : one way around the patio: adjustable sheltered galery standing as a threshold (sliding pannels), and one outdoor way through the patio.

3RD YEAR PROJECTS ÂŤ Pro-local infrastructures Âť / C. Priest, C. Jungfer
T
hese following projects investigate existing local, social and material conditions in the city to propagate hybrid typologies and shape the future of urban infrastructure. I have been working in collaboration with Design for London on the public realm for a study area in Lewisham, London. We focused in the central area immediately south of Deptford station.
! The site 4 streches east/west, a bit norther than the main road of the area, New Cross Road. It is mainly composed with a park, Fulham Park, surrounded by blocks of flats, mainly council houses. It is quite well served, as it is bordered with 2 underground stations, which link it with the rest of the city.
Multi-scalar design process
The area is quite lively as it comprises a wide range of activities as artistic ones, markets and many schools.
I investigated inter-dependencies between material, architectural and urban scales, which made me realized that individual parameters Site effects analysis informing a condition have different depending on the scale. I beleive that this design methodology is essential to respond more coherently to the increasingly complex conditions in the city.
Eco-Nomic Architecture I explored and defined a proto-economic urbanism, through visionary proposals of change along the envisaged Route No.1 whose corollary were socially dynamic and materially responsive to the economic pressures of Lewisham and its residents.

site exploration / the landmarks A discreet and subbtle ground network to make the landmarks communicate and create new routes and new dynamics in the site, related to the time of use and the way the shadow marks. Add clues on the floor surface, applying: hard material - dark pebbles - in a soft condition - grass, leaves - soft material - wood logs - in a hard condition - asphalt, stone.

3RD YEAR PROJECTS transplanting qualities
3RD YEAR PROJECTS brief
I
n the continuity of semester 1, I wanted to design a meaningful landmark for Deptford, a strong resounding point on Route 1, a communal house for local actors, which could have influence at a larger scale for the whole regenerating Deptford. Deptford’s scene is on, charities are active and markets are buoyant. Relying on this context, I want to provide Deptford a go-between, a buffer place which will collaborate with the existing activities, coordinate them and encourage new ones. I yearn for calling together the different protagonists of Deptford’s impulse. It’ll urge on a united and sustainable economic change through an active awareness campaign focusing on the waste management and the idea of collect, recycling, reemployment and valorization. It will appeal field workers and local community, inform, educate them and agitate for sustainability.
environmental strategy
neighbouring qualities The facility takes the mark of its surrounding, clinging and spreading on the existing. It will embody involvement and action and encourage both self and collective initiative. This communal house would stand as a node point, a familiar place where everyone feels welcome. Its activity could also enable to create new jobs, ways of re-socialization and restimulation for weaken people.

he design intends to converse with the existing surrounding activities, making the ÂŤ back Âť of the site a new front and invite people to follow new routes. It aims to create a naturally organic feel to the space, embodying collective awareness and community gathering. The position and structure of each entity should create a vibrant, healthy and comfortable community space for the locals, with some flexibility to adapt to different functions and uses of the space.

3RD YEAR PROJECTS a resounding landmark
Each entity defines an outside space, continuity of the interior. The overhanging roofings cover a part of the
outside space, particularly the entrances. A work on these inter-spaces is fundamental, to create a coherent whole. These circulation spaces defined in between the different entities suggest dynamics and can be used as an extension of the inside. A particular attention is given to the ground quality and materiality, in relation to the built.

Fall 2010
4TH YEAR PROJECTS problematizing contemporary territories
This project investigates the surroundings of a large
gap caused by the passage of a train infrastructure. My intention was to intensify the confluence point of these 2 infrastructures, at the very moment when they change intensity. Through the various strategies put in place, it is considered the infrastructure of the city as an ingredient, not as an independent in order to rethink these large voids as a unique urban respiration. The vision of a large infrastructure, added to the soft infrastructure of the green, can be an effective tool in terms of project

4TH YEAR PROJECTS cartography
Sample 1_ The secret? garden
I assume that a better understanding of a site garantees a strong basis for the project. Exploring cartograph leads to both reading (analytic) and writing (projectual) of a site. The contemporary city launches us the challenge of its description. Codes of representation stabilized during centuries seem inadequate nowadays. How indeed to represent varieties of hollowness, instabiliy of flow and uses, the wild connections of tiny objects that are subjects of urban nebula today, as much as more traditional categories such as buildings, roads, plots ...? I have been working on the railways’ margins, in a Southern surburb of Paris. I aimed at identifying and translating the very situations we can find along these infrastructures. These particular spaces are ‘in-betweens’, ‘pet spaces’ as Bow Wow would have called it.

creation and integration, especially tram lines, represent the last twenty years a great opportunity to examine again the public space. It suggest, for example, the reclassification of territories that go along that line or railway sectors. These occasions so provide the thread of the project by requiring a spatial analysis which aims to articulate different levels of study. Preliminary analysis have been conducted at several scales: from the large size defined by the territory concerned to the routes, at a retail level. PROFIL DU SITE
