media information Media Entrance The media entrance to Littlejohn Coliseum is located at the southwest corner of the facility. Members of the media are asked to enter the arena through the glass area located at this position. Signs will be posted on gamedays directined media members to this entrance. A member of the athletic communications office will be present to assist you to the working area and seating area. No members of the media will be allowed to enter through the tunnel. Media Parking Media parking is available through the Clemson athletic communications office. Parking will be Lot 5 for Clemson media and Lot 4 (below Jervey Gym) for visiting media. Radio network engineers will be allowed to park on the Avenue of Champions to unload equipment. Media Seating Media seating changed last season, and is in effect for the 2014-15 season as well. Members of the media, as well as NBA scouts, will be assigned seats in section 228 of the upper arena inside Littlejohn Coliseum. The area is fully equipped with wireless internet access. Media Work Area The media work area also moved and is now located in the southwest atrium across from portals 13 and 14 in Littlejohn Coliseum on the concourse level. The area is spacious enough for sportswriters, photographers and scouts. Wireless access is available in this area via the ‘ClemsonPress’ network. See the athletic communications staff for a private password to access the network. Concession vouchers are provided to the media. Live In-Game Statistics Members of the media can follow live in-game statistics on a laptop, iPad, tablet or phone. Statistics are generated instantaneously on the Web at Clemson.StatBroadcast.com. Postgame Interviews The postgame interview location will be the same as it has been the past several years, located on the first floor of the facility. To access, media members will enter the stairwell that runs underneath section 228 and take it to the ground floor and exit across the tunnel hallway to the interview room. The head coaches of both teams will enter the designated postgame interview area after a minimum 10-minute cooling off period. Clemson head coach Brad Brownell will appear after he has done his radio network interview. This is subject to change on a game-by-game basis. Clemson players will be available in the interview area no less than 15 minutes after the completion of the game. No postgame interviews are allowed outside of this designated room. A member of the athletic communications staff who is stationed in the media work area will circulate in the game’s final minutes for your specific Clemson player requests. See the opposing communications representative for their postgame player interview procedure. Brad Brownell Availability Head coach Brad Brownell is available throughout the week during the season. He is available prior to practice the day before scheduled games. He is also available via the ACC teleconference on Mondays during the conference regular season, starting in January. Head coach Brad Brownell must feel a little snakebit. As he enters his fifth season at Clemson – the longest stint at the three institutions he’s coached – Brownell must once again replace his team’s leading scorer. In fact, he’s yet to know what it’s like to return his top scorer at Clemson. K.J. McDaniels put together one of the greatest seasons in program history in 2013-14, earning first-team All-ACC and ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors while averaging over 17 points per game. His season was so terrific, in fact, he opted to forgo his senior campaign and enter the NBA Draft, where he was chosen 32nd overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. “It’s good for our program to have a guy like K.J. have the type of year he did,” Brownell said. “Now, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I wish he was still with us, because he would have a huge impact. But I think our program is in a place now where we can better handle the loss of a player of his caliber.” Brownell has good reason to believe that last statement. His 2014-15 team returns four

starters from a squad that went 23-13 a season ago and reached the semifinals of the NIT. Clemson returns over 77 percent of its starts from 2013-14, the highest figure among the 15 ACC schools. The Tigers return one of the conference’s most seasoned floor leaders in senior Rod Hall, who came into his own in 2013-14. Always a steady defender and decision-maker, Hall doubled his career scoring average as a junior when he ranked second behind McDaniels at 9.7 points per game. Hall has proven to be a clutch performer during his time as a Tiger, dating to his freshman season. As a junior, he posted 10 points in two overtimes as the Tigers outlasted Maryland in a crucial ACC win. He then scored the go-ahead bucket inside the final 10 seconds of the ACC Tournament quarterfinal against Duke, before the Blue Devils answered with game-winning free throws. Hall shook off the disappointment two games later when his layup inside the final 10 seconds lifted Clemson to a 50-49 win over Illinois in the NIT. “We don’t need Rod to do much more,”

overview Brownell said. “He sets an unbelievable example for the younger guys in our program in terms of how to approach things day-to-day. Continuing to develop as a vocal leader will be his biggest challenge.” Damarcus Harrison and Jordan Roper also return with significant experience in the Tiger backcourt. Harrison started 22 games a season ago and was third on the team in scoring and first in three-point accuracy. Over the last third of the season, it was Harrison’s emergence that sparked Clemson to a solid finish in the ACC and NIT. He posted double figures in nine of Clemson’s final 12 games, including 16 points in the Belmont win that sent the Tigers to New York City for the semifinals. “Damarcus just needs to play with confidence, and getting off to a great start will go a long way in his success this season,” Brownell said. “He thinks this is his year to become a primary player in this program and to have a big role, especially on the offensive end of the court. I want him to let the offense come to him, and (as a staff) we’ll do plenty of things to help.” Roper averaged 7.4 points per game as a sophomore and has the ability to provide instant offense. The Palmetto State product was third on the 2013-14 team with 33 three-point goals and is arguably the Tigers’ top mid-range shooting threat. He also has shown an ability to jump passing lanes, leading to transition points on the other end of the floor. “Jordan has had a really good fall and he’s excited about his junior season,” Brownell said. “He can certainly score the ball, but he’ll also be asked to play some backup point guard and distribute more at times.” Clemson’s most important player could be returning center Landry Nnoko, who started all but two games in 2013-14. After playing behind Devin Booker as a freshman, the 6-foot-10 Nnoko was third in the ACC in blocks per game as a sophomore. He also increased his scoring (6.5) and rebounding (6.2) averages nearly three-fold. Nnoko had several outstanding performances

as a sophomore, including a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) in the Tigers’ 72-59 win over Duke. Because of his size and lateral quickness, Nnoko’s versatility as a defender was one of the primary reasons the Tigers led the nation in threepoint defense in 2013-14. “He was really the centerpiece of our defense in a lot of ways,” Brownell said. “We’re optimistic he’ll take another big step as a junior and become a consistent scorer for us on the inside.” Jaron Blossomgame is the team’s fourth returning starter, and as a redshirt freshman a season ago he provided the Tigers with energy and effort plays. He averaged 4.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game coming off a serious leg injury, and showed glimpses of his talent throughout the season. He was ACC Rookie of the Week after posting 14 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Duke. “Jaron plays with great confidence, and his athleticism is coming back,” Brownell said.

“This was the first offseason we’ve been able to really work with him. If he can make some threepointers consistently, that will really help us open things up offensively.” The battle for McDaniels’ vacant small forward spot will likely come down to sophomore Austin Ajukwa and freshman Donte Grantham. After appearing in 25 games as a freshman, Ajukwa has added over 15 pounds to his frame and appears ready for an expanded role. “Both guys have had good fall workouts,” Brownell said. “Austin is a talented guy with the ability to score the basketball. Now with the added weight, hopefully he’ll add some confidence to be an active defender. Grantham was in Clemson both summer sessions after spending a year at Hargrave Military Academy. He is a highly skilled 6-foot-8 wing that chose the Tigers over some strong suitors during the recruiting process. “Donte is skilled for his position,” Brownell

said. “He has to rebound a little better and learn how to impact the game outside of his skill level. We’re really excited he’s here, though.” A pair of freshmen – Gabe DeVoe and Patrick Rooks – will compete for time in the backcourt as well. DeVoe was a Parade All-American after leading the state of North Carolina in scoring as a senior at Shelby High School, while Rooks is coming off a redshirt season due to hip surgery. Both have shown an ability to shoot the basketball during skill workouts. “Gabe is a guy who can shoot the ball well and do some things on the move,” Brownell said. “With Pat, it’s about getting him back into shape. But he can certainly shoot with range.” Sidy Djitte and Josh Smith provide depth in the frontcourt. Smith dropped 15 pounds and was in the midst of his best offseason, but a back injury in August forced him to miss a few weeks of workouts. He appeared in 30 games last season. “Josh has been battling some health issues,” Brownell said. “His attitude has been very good, and losing weight has helped him move a little bit beter. He’s got a role for us in a lot of situations, but he has to get healthy.” Djitte played in all but two games, logging over 300 minutes behind Nnoko. He was the team’s top rebounder on a per-minute basis in 2013-14, and had a solid offseason as well. “Sidy needs to defend and rebound,” Brownell said. “He has a great energy level and runs the floor well; he just has to get more comfortable within our system offensively.” Brownell’s team faces a challenging slate in 2014-15, both out of conference and in the ACC. He’s particularly excited by the team’s home schedule, the last one for the Tigers in Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson’s home facility since 1968 is scheduled to undergo a rebuild following the season. “We’ve scheduled some non-conference teams with the idea they’re going to challenge us to play our best early in the season,” Brownell said. “Hopefully, we’ll be ready for it and it will prepare us for a difficult ACC schedule.”

Clemson’s 10-win ACC seasons • The 1986-87 and 1989-90 teams accomplished 10 wins in Season ACC Overall a 14-game ACC schedule, while 1986-87 10-4 25-6 the 2007-08 squad did it in a 161989-90 10-4 24-8 2007-08 10-6 24-10 game slate. 2013-14 10-8 23-13 • On March 4, Clemson achieved the mark with a 58-54 victory over Miami. It doubled Clemson’s win total from 2012-13, when the Tigers were just 5-13 in league play. • Clemson won just five ACC games in 2012-13, but doubled its total in 2013-14 with 10. The five-game improvement tied for the second-best in program history, matching the 1937-38 team that played in the Southern Conference and the 1974-75 team in the ACC.

CLEMSON SETS WINS RECORD COMING OFF LOSING SEASON • Clemson’s 23 wins were a school with a losing record. The Tigers were just 13-18 in 2012-13, but finished with a 23-13 overall record. • Clemson was just the ninth team in ACC history to win 20 games following a season in which it had a .420 winning percentage or less.
