There are a lot of good things coming out of Aberdeen, thanks to the efforts of members of the Aberdeen Concerned Citizens Group (ACC). According to Shari Stafford, charter member and organizer of the ACC, the group has continued in their efforts to improve the village. “We have a lot going on in the village right now and we’re looking forward to accomplishing a lot this summer,” Stafford said. “The Aberdeen Fire Department and Life Squad plan to begin the groundbreaking for the 911 Memorial sometime this summer. The ACC is working diligently to update and make improvements to the park for those who visit the memorial.” Stafford said the International Paper recently donated two lace bark elm trees that were planted at the Aberdeen Community Park for Armorist Day. “Currently, we are accepting donations and/or memorials for concrete pads that park benches and picnic tables can be placed on,” Stafford said. “The ACC is going to strategically place the pads along the river.” Stafford said that the village has cleaned up the public restrooms at the park and the police are frequently cruising and checking the

restrooms periodically to help keep them safe for visitors. She said that keeping the restrooms from being vandalized and clean has been an ongoing problem. “As soon as the river clears this year the boat dock will be put in place to welcome our boaters and fishermen,” she added, “We would like to have village groups or individuals adopt one of the eleven landscaping areas throughout the park, it is an opportunity to show off their green thumb and help make our park look beautiful.” Other plans being made by ACC include: • improving the playground area in the main body of the park. It is a $54,000 project; • replacing or refurbishing the picnic tables at the park to include two tables that are ADA accessible;’ • improve the picnic area to include a healthy grilling class for fathers and their children; • purchase new bleachers for the ball field and make improvements at the ball park. “The ACC has received support with funds and technical assistance from the Adams-Brown Creating Healthy Communities Program,” she said. “It is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, administered by the Ohio Department of Health’s Bureau of Healthy Ohio and coordinated by the Area Health Ed-
God had a plan for man when He made man in the first place! Genesis 2:7 tells us: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” So man has a soul; in fact, the soul is the man. In verse 18 it says: “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” So God put Adam asleep and did a little surgery. He took a rib from Adam and from that rib He made the woman. The woman was made out of the man. Therefore, all humans go back to just one, which is Adam. That is significant because God had a great plan for man that was more than just his years in this world. Every generation has seen the same things, problems and suffering. I’ll tell you why. They came as a result of sin when Adam and Eve did what God said not to do. God only gave them one restriction, one law, and that was to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You would think that they could keep just one law! No, they couldn’t because that one law brought attention to the one thing God told them to not to do. You tell a little kid not to go into a certain room. Tell him he can go into any other room except that one. There might not be a thing in there, but do you know what room he will want to get into? The room you told him he can’t go into. It is human nature. God knew human nature because He made human nature! He knew Eve would eat of the tree after Satan, that old serpent, said: “..Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the Garden?” and she replied that they could eat of all except one tree. She said: “God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Then Satan told her a half truth and she believed it. He said: “...Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” She was going to find out something that she didn’t know before, but she was not going to like it. She would know good from evil and she found out that she

went to Adam and he not wanting to live without her, ate also. It is noble to die for your bride. In fact, that is exactly what Jesus Christ did on the cross for His bride, the church. And that is what Adam did for his bride. You might think that God’s program went down the drain when Adam ate of the fruit. But it was not so. God was way ahead of them because he foreknew that through weakness they would not be able to withstand the wiles of the devil, but, He did not want them to have to remain in a sinful old body. So God used man to defeat Satan while at the same time making a way so that man would not have to remain in that now sinful body. What was His plan? His plan was Jesus Christ on the cross. All you have to do to live eternally with God is to accept His Son as your redeemer in order to be reconciled back to God. Don’t let Satan deceive you. Jesus said, speaking of Satan, in John 8:44: “...He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” He will lie to you. He lies to everyone, but you do not have to listen to him! James 4:7-8 tells us: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” Won’t you accept Jesus? Just believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, ask for forgiveness, and to save your soul from Hell. Then someday that old body will be changed to a glorified body and will be joined with your soul to live eternally with Christ. Only then will His plan for you be completed!

ucation Center of the University of Cincinnati AHEC program.” To date the ACC has received two pet stations, crime watch safety gear, a child safety sign and a bike rack from the Adams-Brown Creating Healthy Communities. “This past Christmas, we had 37 new and refurbished Christmas decorations along US 52 and the park,” Stafford said. “We now have the funds and are ready to purchase bulbs for 10 more newly refurbished pole decorations to be hung this coming Christmas.” Stafford, along with all the other ACC members, would like to invite everyone from the community who would like to help make improvements in the village to join in at the next meeting set for Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Community Center. In Memory Of Jo Wallace Schneider April 24, 1965 - May 20, 2000 Don’t think of her as gone away her journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.
