Second Coming
I was reading a book written by a friend of mine. I was surprised to read that he said the Lord may come while he was writing this book or He may come 1000 years from now. These people who spread this kind of doctrine are taking the teaching of the eminent return to the extreme so that nobody knows what to think about it. Others have made predictions of certain dates of the return of Christ and we all know how that turned out. This teaching of the eminent return of Christ is not biblical but is taught in most Bible colleges around the world. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24:6: “...for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”; then, not before then, but after all these things come to pass. So because of that we have a great gap in knowledge concerning the second coming of Christ. The signs do relate to the second coming of Christ and if the prophecies do not relate to the second coming of Christ, what good are the prophecies anyway? The important thing is that we are looking forward to the second coming of Christ which is the main prophecy! He is coming back, that I can guarantee, and I don’t believe that it will be 1000 years from now. Look with me in the book of Jude. It was written for the day when people will not endure sound doctrine as it says in II Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” They want stories rather than doctrine, the truth of God’s holy word, the Bible! I want you to see what Jude is reminding us of in verse 5: “I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.” Jude said that he will put you in remembrance because of the chaotic conditions that would take place as we approach the latter days. Ladies and gentlemen, those days are not coming, they are already here and Jude’s warning was that God destroyed those that did not believe. On one occasion God opened up the earth and it swallowed up the unbe-

lievers and then the rest of the people got mad at Moses because the earth opened up. Moses was not responsible for the earth opening up; he did not have that kind of power but God does. According to Nahum 1:3 God has the power to send the storms and He has His way in the whirlwinds. The clouds are the dust of His feet! God is still in charge and I think that it is an absolute insult to our creator when our people refer to His doings as mother nature! If you think “mother nature” is so powerful why don’t you just pray to her when you are dying and see what that gets you! Now, God did not only destroy the unbelievers but look at verse 6: “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” You will also find that in II Peter 2:4. These unholy angels sinned before man was ever created! The Bible says in Matthew 24:41 that hell was prepared for the devil and his angels but sad to say, unbelievers will go there too. In verse 7 of Jude it says that He also destroyed the people of Sodom and Gomorrha. Their sin was homosexuality. He said that these cities were set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. I didn’t say it, God did and one of these days God will say enough is enough. Listen, if Noah built the ark without any physical evidence of rain, but simply believed God that judgment was coming, shouldn’t we believe God about eternal hell and the coming judgment? It is coming and it is our business to tell others how to be saved from eternal fire! Oh I know, mowing your grass is more important than a lost soul and you have too many other things to do. But Noah seemed to find the time to build an enormous ark. Why; because he did believe God!
