THE DOOR
Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” According to the Bible, the majority are not on the right road; they are on the broad road. The narrow road is Jesus only. Jesus is the one who died on the cross for our sins. There is no other way to heaven but Jesus. Jesus said in John 10:9: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved...” He died for the whole world. John 3:16-17 states: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Back in Matthew 7 verses 21-23 says: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Jesus will say: “...I never knew you...” Ladies and gentlemen, He will not say: I knew you once, but I don’t know you now. No, He will say: “I never knew you”. These are the people that talk about Jesus; they have done many wonderful works in His name; but they never really became a Christian. It is not difficult to become a Christian. Romans 10:13 tells us: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” However, you have to be sincere in your heart. You can not fake it. I would not want the day to come and then hear Jesus say: “..I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Look with me in Matthew chapter 24. Jesus is coming back again someday, but, His arrival will be in two different ways and two different times. In Matthew 24 verse 27 it says: “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and
DR. CHARLES SMITH
MT. ORAB BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH WWW.BBMTORAB.COM
shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Verse 30 says: “...with power and great glory.” Jude 14-15 tells us: “...Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” When Jesus comes that way, it is “not” what we call the Rapture. This arrival is obvious. He is going to come and put His feet on the Mount of Olives and the whole mountain splits according to Zechariah 14:4! However, Matthew chapter 24 also talks about another coming. Look at verses 37-39: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” We are as it was in the days of Noah now! Watch, this coming is sudden and not everyone will know it. Verse 40: “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” Two people working together and one just suddenly disappears! (I Cor. 15:51-54; I Thes. 4:14-17). Verse 44: “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Notice the word “hour”; it didn’t say day, or month, or year. His timing is precise. No man knows when Jesus is coming. Are you ready for His coming? Have you literally asked the Lord to save you? If not, you are not a Christian! You have to come in at the door! You have to ask for entrance.

HIS JOURNEY ’S JUST BEGUN Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds many facets this earth is only one... Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. We wish to thank the Mt. Orab Fire Dept., Bethel Fire Dept., Fayetteville Fire Dept., Paint Creek Fire District and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for your presence in the procession. We wish to thank the two female passersby for your attempts to provide aide and for calling emergency services, as well as, the Squad/Rescue personnel and the staff of the Mercy Medical Center, Mt. Orab Campus. Thanks to the many friends and family who visited and sent cards, food, flowers and gifts. Thanks to the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union Associate Pastor Chris Johnson, Danny’s brother, David Rymer and friend, James Taylor for your beautiful words of comfort during the service. Thank you to the Cahall Funeral Home staff in Mt. Orab, Ohio for your assistance during our time of loss and thank you to the pallbearers, Randy Hiler, Charlie Green, Jerel Osborne, Jimmy Unger, Mike Pell and Jeremy Grooms. A special thank you to Kathy and Gary Lynn Wallace and family for graciously opening their home for the after-service gathering and for assisting with food and meal preparations.
