Current road construction projects A number of road construction projects are currently underway in Brown County. S.R. 505 is closed between U.S. 52 and C.R. 60 (Oak Grove Road) through September 14 for a drilled shaft installation project. The project site is located just north of U.S. 52 at Higginsport, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 133 in Clermont County and S.R. 756. U.S. 52 has been reduced to one lane between T.R. 232 (Logan Gap Road) and T.R. 573 (Three Mile Creek Road) for a slide repair and culvert replacement project. The project site is located approximately onehalf mile west of Aberdeen, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid to late fall. U.S. 52 will be reduced to one lane approximately 1.5 miles west of Ripley for a slide repair project. The project site is between Pisgah Hill Road and Old U.S. 68, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. U.S. 62 is reduced to one lane at two locations for bridge and culvert replacement projects. The project sites are located between C.R. 27 (Ashridge-Arnheim Road) and T.R. 208 (Wright Road), south of S.R. 32, and between T.R. 201 (Melblanc Road) and C.R. 23 (Fincastle-Winchester Road), north of S.R. 32. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane at both locations with temporary signals, and the project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. U.S. 68 has been reopened between T.R. 255 (Straight Creek Road) and T.R. 583A (Kattine-Dugan Road), two miles south of S.R. 125, following a slide repair and culvert replacement project. Crews have minor finishing work to complete; however, there should be little to no impact to traffic. All work is scheduled to be completed
by early fall. A slide repair and culvert replacement project is under way on S.R. 125, just west of Georgetown. The project site is located between T.R. 402 (Gillette Station Road) and T.R. 75 (Winfield Drive), and throughout construction on S.R. 125, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction. All work is anticipated to be completed by late summer. Operations for a realignment/reconstruction project on S.R. 41 at T.R. 563 (Slickaway Road) and S.R. 763 have been suspended temporarily. The routes have been closed at their junction north of Aberdeen, and while they are closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 136 and S.R. 125 in Adams County. An intersection improvement project at S.R. 125 and Home Street is under way. Crews will be reconstructing the signals and realigning the intersection at the routes’ junction in Georgetown. During construction, Home Street will be closed for up to 45 days, and traffic will be detoured locally via Marshall and Fulton avenues. S.R. 125 traffic will be maintained in two lanes with the use of the existing or temporary signals and/or flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer. U.S. 50 is open immediately west of the Highland County line, east of T.R. 109 (Swartz Road), following a bridge replacement project. Crews have minor finishing work to complete; however, there should be little to no impact to traffic, and all work is anticipated to be completed by mid-August. A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 68 and S.R. 125. Crews will be paving U.S. 68 from its overlap with U.S. 62, south of Georgetown, to S.R. 125 and S.R. 125 from its junction with U.S. 68 to the west corporation limit of Georgetown, near Hillcrest Drive. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers when crews are at work. All work is scheduled to be completed in late fall.
