LEGAL NOTICE Sealed bids will be received by the Brown County Board of Commissioners for the FY’ 13 Community Development Allocation Road Project- Fishing Gut Road Huntington Township Resurfacing. This is a re-bid of the project due to a significant change in the Scope of Work. Christmas craft show planned at Rambler Center Plans for the 9th annual Christmas Craft Show and Sale are complete. The event will take place on Saturday, November 1st, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Rambler Center (the old Russellville School) located one block east of the stoplight in Russellville, Ohio. Due to the response received for this event to date, a large number of crafters is anticipated. All downstairs tables have been reserved but we still

have a few openings on the second floor. Table rent on the second floor is $10.00 each. If you hurry you can still take part in the craft show but space at this time is very limited! Breakfast and lunch will be served by members of the RCAP (Russellville Community Action Planners) for the event. Halloween Dance at American Legion Post 180 A special Halloween Dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 8 p.m. until midnight, sponsored by the American legion Post 180. The event will feature The River Pickles Band, raffle prizes and door prizes. Prizes will also be awarded for best costume for man and woman, and

setups will be provided. The American Legion Post 180 is located at 1001 S. Main Street in Georgetown and the cost of the event is only $8 single and $15 for couples. Everyone is welcome.

S.A.T.H. Halloween Hustle 5K Run & One mile walk, Oct. 25 S.A.T.H. (Supplementary Assistance to the Handicapped) will be holding its 3rd Annual ‘Halloween Hustle’ 5K Run & 1 mile Walk on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Rocky Fork State Park in Hillsboro. Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Dovetail Activity area. The race will begin at 10 a.m. Walkers, runners and wheelchairs are invited to come out and help KAMP DOVETAIL with their support. Medals will be give to the top three individuals in men’s, women’s and walker category. Tickets will be available to purchase for raffle prizes. This event is being held to promote and support KAMP DOVETAIL, a five-day and 4 night sum-

mer camp for children with special needs. The Kamp is held the third week of June at Rocky fork State Park. This past year, over 730 individuals, including children with special needs, volunteers and staff members enjoyed a fun-filled week of outdoor camping experiences. SATH underwrites the cost of KAMP DOVETAIL through generous donations obtained by fundraising events such as the 5K Run/Walk. DAR Chapter announces newest member The Ripley-Lieutenant Byrd Chapter of the DAR is proud to announce its newest member – Vickie Blair Carrington. Ms. Carrington entered the DAR under her Revolutionary War patriot, Samuel Pickerill. Mr. Pickerill was born around 1757 in Charles County, Maryland. He entered military service in 1776 in Dunfries, Virginia in Captain Gallius’ Company, Col. Brent's Regiment, Va. Troops and served for 3 years as a Private and drummer boy. Private Pickerill was in the Battles of Monmouth and Stony Point. He died May 9, 1850 (age 93) in Ripley, and is buried in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Brown County. Ms. Carrington is married to Lowell Carrington and they live near Red Oak. She has a strong in-
