The Plan identifies activities and programs as required by Ohio EPA to reduce material being disposed in landfills and describes how the District will provide recycling access to at least 90% of the citizens in the District. The Plan provides at least 26 drop off recycling sites, education and awareness programs, litter collection, a transfer station in Adams County, a household hazardous waste voucher program, industrial and commercial waste audits and encouragement of volume based waste collection cost. The revised Plan is funded by a $3.00 per ton generation fee for waste generated in the District and will increase to $3.50 in year 2020, then $4.00 in year 2021 in order keep pace with inflation. Waste generated in the District can only go to facilities designated to receive waste from the District. A copy of the Plan can be reviewed at the Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District Office at 4400 Haskell Lane, Batavia, Ohio; the Adams and Clermont Commissioners Offices, public libraries in West Union, Ohio and Owensville, Ohio, and available on the web at www.oeq.net. The official comment period begins January 30, 2019 and ends March 1, 2019.
