and trucks from southern Ohio and many neighboring states. The Pumpkin Run Nationals is a must-see for every automobile enthusiast. All cars and trucks entered in the show must be 1970 or older, and each registered car or truck will receive a ticket for the grand prize drawing. The grand prize this year is a 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe with a 350 cu. in. Chevy engine on a rolling chassis built by Danny’s Rod Shop, with a 350 transmission built by Gil & Mike’s Transmission Service. Wheels and tires donated by Lindenwald Automotive. While the Pumpkin Run Nationals is the region’s premier car show, it is also a family-friendly event, with something for every member of the family. The Shriners are going to have even more clowns for the children this year, according to organizers, and there will be games for both children and adults, a model car contest, church services, Hot Wheels drag races, dance contests, and live music Friday and Saturday nights. “The goal is to make it more a fall festival and car show,” Fastiques member John Walters said. Fastiques is a non-profit organization comprised of
50 member families. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run Nationals benefit many charities. Last December, a check for $50,000 was presented to Shriners Burns Hospital for Children. To date, more than $580,000 has been donated to the hospital by the club. Each year, Fastiques also contributes some of the proceeds from the event to the fair board for improvements to the fairgrounds. “Each year we reinvest in the fairgrounds,” Walters said. “The fair board matches whatever we ar able to give them, and over the years we’ve been able to improve the facilities greatly.” This year, there will be new onsite parking, a new gate off state Route 132 for private vehicles, and new indoor plumbing. “With these improvements, its just going to be a much more pleasant experience for everyone attending,” Walters said. Registration will be open Thursday, Oct. 30 from 2 - 8 p.m. Gates open at 8 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Spectator tickets are $5. Children 12 and under are free. Northeastern Lions Club supports the community Page 20 • 35th PUMPKIN RUN NATIONALS
The Northeastern Lions Club is one of thousands of groups across the world that is part of the International Lions Club, with a focus on serving local communities, state activities and international projects. In particular the Lions Club is known for raising money to help those in need of eye classes, eye exams and eye sur-
geries. The Northeastern Lion Club is 43 years old, formed in 1967, when a group of teachers and community leaders got together to raise money to make sure all students had access to eye exams. The first fundraiser was selling light bulbs, candy and watermelon at the Clermont County Fair. Those fundraisers have expanded to a variety of activities, the largest being the annual collaboration with the Fastiques Rod & Custom of Southern Ohio, Inc. at the Pumpkin Run the first weekend of every October. While the Antiques members provide the leadership for one of the largest car shows in the region, the Lions Club members host all the food
booths on the Clermont County Fairgrounds where the Pumpkin Run is held each year. This will be the 31st year of this collaboration. As a result, the Lions Club has been able to donate more than $500,000 to various charities including the Clermont Northeastern Local School District; six churches including St. Louis, Owensville United Methodist, Marathon Methodist, Newtonsville Methodist, Owensville Baptist Church, Milford Trinity; the Ohio Lions Eye Research; Ohio Lions Foundation; Ohio Lions Eye Bank; Pilot Dogs; six $1,000 scholarships at CNE each year; Clermont Senior Services; Clermont County Junior Fair Board; Clermont 20/20’s Look To Clermont youth program; Radio Reading for the Blind; music camp for children with visual disabilities; and Sugar Plum Kids charity at Mercy Hospital Clermont. The club members also sponsor three children a year in Haiti with school tuition.
One of the largest donations each year is made to the CNE Athletic Boosters, whose members help the Lions Club each year at the Pumpkin Run. Depending on the year, a donation of more than $15,000 is donated each year. The International Lions Club motto is “We Serve.” To fulfill that motto locally, the Northeastern Lions Club makes sure that any child in the CNE, Batavia and Williamsburg who needs eye exams, eyeglasses or treatments get that help. Each year, the club purchases an average of 75 pairs of glasses and pays for about 50 eye exams. One of the international efforts is LCIF and the Northeastern Lions Club has budgeted $11,000 over five years to donate. The Northeastern Lions Club is one of the most active clubs in the state, with more than 60 members. Plus, they thank their families and friends for their help all year, but especially during the Pumpkin Run.

Find what you need at Green Sales Company
35th PUMPKIN RUN NATIONALS • Page 23
If you are looking for the latest or the oldest in Ford and Lincoln-Mercury parts, Green Sales Company has exactly what you need. Green Sales Company, located at 2172 Seymour Avenue in Cincinnati, has an inventory of more than 210,000 part numbers for cars and trucks from 1950 to the present. Everything from standard hardware to complete truck cabs are fair game when you are looking for those hard to find parts. Anything a dealer may have stocked over the past 50 years and much more is a potential find at their 107,000 sf. facility. In addition, they stock a wealth of reproduction parts, and weather-strips from a variety of manufacturers. They also offer a large selection of remanufactured items. Even when they are not able to supply your needs the company’s research staff can help you find your part using their 3 locator systems: PartsVoice, One Touch and ADP. Since 1957, Green Sales Company has been buying and selling current and obsolete products from Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships all over the world. While focused in the United States, they have found inventories to purchase from as far away as South America, Israel and Russia. Mining companies, foreign militaries and governments, shipping companies, financiers, foreign and domestic parts distributors, private and commercial fleets are just a few of the unusual places Green Sales
Company has found inventory to purchase. Although Green Sales is not a dealer, they have years of dealer experience and competitive pricing. Five of their sales personnel have served as Ford Parts Managers or lead countermen. In fact, there is in excess of 350 years of parts experience shared between their seasoned parts staff of 14. This, in addition to their support staff, makes them a valuable resource in providing you the parts you need. President Tim Yeomans bought into the business in 1980 before acquiring the entire company in 1990. Yeomans started his career with Chevrolet Motor Division accounting department before moving to the Parts and Service Division at Ford Motor Company where he worked for 13 years. Les Yeomans has been with the Green Sales Company for 19 years and has been the company’s general manager for 8 years. Operation’s manager, Bruce Yeomans, has dedicated his entire 16 year sales career with Green Sales. Green Sales Company’s inventory can be searched by part number night and day when visiting GreenSalesCompany.com. “It’s useful in checking our inventory and finding our basic business information but it’s not designed as a high powered sales tool,” Yeomans said. “It shows that we offer a whole lot of fun stuff. You can see pictures of everything from Ford memorabilia to rare and unusual parts and oil fil-
ters. If you are browsing on the Web, it’s something the enthusiast can enjoy.” Contact the knowledgeable sales staff at Green Sales Company Monday-
Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays. Call (513) 731-3304 for more information.4
