Kambelos to open office in Maysville Ripley Bee
When Comprehend, Inc. opens the doors of the Harriett Hord Cartmell Building, the company will be offering a new service to the community under the direction of a new doctor. The new building will include the Buffalo Trace Medical Arts facility, a primary care facility under the leadership of Dr. Peter Kambelos. Dr. Kambelos is a native of Maysville and is the son John and Erato Kambelos. He graduated from Maysville High School and then continued his education receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky and his Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School Of Medicine. Dr. Kambelos currently owns and operates Seven Hills Medical Arts, Inc. in Cincinnati and serves as Medical Director of the Home Based Primary Care program at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Georgetown. “We are pleased to have Dr. Kambelos come on board and lead this program for us,” state Dr. Pamela Vaught, CEO of Comprehend, Inc. “I am confident that he will be a great fit for Comprehend and will help make this program grow and be a success.” “I am sincerely excited about this opportunity,” said Dr. Kambelos. “I have been looking to eventually move back to the area and when this opportunity was presented to me I saw it as another piece to the puzzle in my move back home.” Dr. Kambelos is also contributing to the Capital Campaign for the new building by purchasing the naming rights for the new Primary Care suite and will

name it after his parents. The suite will be named the John & Erato Kambelos Primary Care suite. “We grew up in the East End of Maysville. Mom and dad took pride in their community and I feel it is only fitting to name this suite after them. This project is great for Maysville and specifically my beloved East End,” said Dr. Kambelos. Once the facility is open, Buffalo Trace Medical Arts will be the only physician’s office in the East End. The facility will be open to everyone, not just clients of Comprehend. Current clients will be able to take care of their mental and
physical health in one location. Studies show that there is a connection between Mental Health and Physical health. By offering this comprehensive healthcare treatment approach known as integrated care, clients are able to sit down with their team of treatment providers to discuss best case treatment plans for better outcomes. “With all of the plans for the redevelopment of the East End, we are proud to offer another service that will enhance the quality of life in the community,” said David Green, Director of Business Development & Marketing for Comprehend, Inc.

Congressional art competition for high school students Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) invites high school students from around Ohio’s Second District to participate in the 2019 Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity for high school students to showcase their artistic abilities and compete for a chance to see their creations hang in the United States Capitol for one year. Students may submit their original, two-dimensional artwork to Congressman Wenstrup’s district offices in Cincinnati or Peebles for judging. A panel of judges will determine first, second, and third place winners among the submissions, alongside a “viewer’s choice” determined by online voting. The runnersup will have their artwork displayed prominently in one of Congressman Wenstrup’s offices. Last year’s first place winner from Ohio’s Second Congressional District was Hannah Kessinger. Her piece is pictured here. To be considered in the competition, students must hand-deliver or mail their en-
