Storytimes
Bring your little ones to the library and begin raising readers. Age-appropriate storytimes are designed for specific developmental levels as children gain language and pre-reading skills. These sessions provide engaging interactions with words and reading to foster children’s early literacy skills while also building social and emotional skills. Check branch listings for schedules.
Bouncing Babies & Books Storytime
(age birth - 18 months)
Lap-sit storytime for babies birth through 18 months offers stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and other fun activities that build pre-literacy skills, enhance parent-child bonding, and begin providing social skills for little ones.

Wee Read and Play Storytime
(ages 18 months - 3 years)
Continue to develop your toddler’s language and social skills: toddlers from 18 months to 3 years of age and their favorite adult are invited for stories, active songs, rhymes and time for play. West Park
Preschool Storytime
(ages 3 - 5)
Story times for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 include stories, songs, activities, and rhymes specially designed to support reading readiness and foster the social and emotional skills that kids need to succeed as they enter Kindergarten.

Literacy begins at birth and every parent or caregiver can learn and use simple, researchbased techniques to build language and literacy skills right from the start. A new collection of programs and events designed especially for children from birth up to age 3 (0 to 36 months) and their parents/caregivers, including reading challenges, playdates, parent chats, and more. Building your child’s brain is as simple as reading, singing, playing and talking: join us as we read engaging books and sing lively songs with plenty of time for playing and talking. Playdates are designed for children ages 0 to 3 (36 months) accompanied by a caring adult. Siblings are always welcome.
