Cleveland State claimed its first-ever Horizon League Regular Season Championship after going 5-1-3 in league play. The Vikings went on to win their second Horizon League Tournament Championship and make their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament after beating IUPUI on Krenzler Field, 3-0 in the title contest.

For their efforts throughout the year, Sinisa Ubiparipovic was named the #HLMSOC Coach of the Year for the first time, Bojan Kolevski was named the Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, while the Vikings had five All-League members with three on the first team; Kolevski, Pablo Kawecki, Jannis Schmidt, and two on the second team; Hector Gomez and Uros Jevtic. In addition, Schmidt, Kawecki, Kolevski, and Albert Portas were named Academic All-League.
