Might Street food marathon, Hanoi! Absolutely manic, the perfect phrase to describe the streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. People watching people as they dine al fresco on small chairs and tables, motorbikes buzzing past pedestrians with no rights, narrow yet beau ful houses atop overflowing shops, and a variety of exci ng street food are the arms that will welcome you in this place. Let’s start with a boom! I mean, bun “bun cha!” “Bun” means rice noodle, while “Cha” is to pork barbeque. Our adventure begins at Hang Manh Street, the most sincere place to experience this dish. The meal is served with fresh vegetables, vegetable salad, shredded chili, and sauce with vinegar and secret ingredients. You take a step by diving a chunk of flavorful pork bbq into their secret sauce, then a twirl of some rice noodles, and the next steps will be bites of fresh vegetables and salad. “Welcome to Hanoi!” authen c, sincere, Vietnamese street dining, that is the taste of this extravaganza. Our next i nerary will be at Country side restaurant in Bat Dan Street for some famous spring rolls! Cheerful gree ngs and local rice wine will celebrate your visit. If you like playing with your food before you eat it, then this is the place to be. What makes their spring rolls so special is

ca ish! The proper way to love your spring roll is by first laying a thin layer of rice paper to hug the peanuts, carrots, cat fish, celery and leaves, plunge it to some vinegar then enjoy! Wraping them is an art in itself. Part of what makes it more delicious is taste of pride that comes a er overcoming the challenge of wrapping with an unbelievably thin, rice paper roll. The challenge is part of apprecia ng this wonderful dish that is truly Hanoi. True street food has no name! Don’t bother asking the name of the Pho shops opposite of Country side restaurant. Pho is a tradi onal Vietnamese soup of vermicelli, herbs and chicken. Its significance in our i nerary is to grab the opportunity to experience Pho through locals’ taste buds: al fresco, si ng on ny chairs and short tables while laughing with a friend as you watch the chaos of people and motorbikes pass by. Vietnamese women pu ng on a show! Street side, a pair of women gives you cooking lessons on how to make Banh Cuon, Vietnamese spring rolled rice pancake. A milky paste is poured into a flat cloth, a er seconds it is peeled off with a giant bamboo chops ck. The steaming thin rice paper is placed on a flat dish, rolled with minced pork, fried onion and wood ear mush‐ rooms. Adding a pinch of fried onions, salted, shredded shrimp and corianders onto the rolls completes the famous dish. The result, is like mee ng a new friend from a foreign place, he’s weird with a different texture, you don’t know quite sure how to describe him with the garlic

and flavors, but you like him instantly coz of the vibrance of his saucy personality. Hang Ga Street is the place to find original Banh Cuon.

Hanoi’s pub street can be found at Tah Hien Street. At night, the streets come alive, night market shops occupy the road, laughter flood the streets and people enjoy the night with their friend, Bia Hoi beer. It’s a light brew best enjoyed with rice crackers. Arguably, the world’s cheapest beer costs one a quarter of a Dollar for a pint. A treasure inherited from the french is a symphony of lavish meat variety, herbs, and spreads, put together by a french bague e called the “Banh Mi”. It’s a must try along the streets of Vietnam, one of the best spots to grab one is at the corner of Tah Hien street. Egg coffee, cha ca la vong, trung vit long, dog meat and the list goes on for your stomach’s des na ons. Enjoying your journey as part of your des na on means ge ng your hands dirty, ge ng comfy on your ny seat, enjoying the view of the world passing by as you welcome the road dusts that flavors your food. Immersing yourself in the culture is how this buffet demands to be served.

The only daughter among three siblings and a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Informa on Technology at STI‐Global City. A simple yet outgoing person, She doesn't usually wear make up. Her own natural beauty though more than make up for it. People have their own way of expressing themselves. Some may love composing songs, wri ng poetry, dancing, pain ng or portraying a character on a stage play but for Robin Rose, she enjoys Photo shoots. She feels that this is her world. She started to join photo shoots since 2013. It took some me and effort, the proverbial blood sweat and tears for her to work her way into this industry. Open Shoots helped her as an aspiring model to prac ce and develop her skills; at first she did not consider the monetary rewards for she knew that It will surely come. What she need right now is experience and the proper exposure. She was able to meet new friends, photographers and other aspiring models and with them was able to share ideas and techniques. Eventually, she was able to build a network of friends in the fashion and photography industry. With a height of 5 feet 8 inches, quite unusual for an average filipina, She was o en told by friends to join beauty contests. At first being a fashion model was only a dream but now she wants more. An interna onal s nt in the modeling world is the next mountain to climb. When asked how strong her convic on to achieve success is. She gave me that sexy wink and said: " I am (with Jesus) the irresis ble force that can move mountains."
