Roxanne Genier: Global Traveler Brings Her Luxury Background to Blogging, Digital Marketing

oxanne Genier started her career in luxury as a sailor with a passion for the sea. Once a naval intelligence specialist in the Canadian Naval Reserve, she instantly fell in love with superyachts while on a family sailing trip to the Bahamas. For Roxanne, it wasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t about luxury; rather, it was about the beauty of sailing the world on the most technologically-advanced boats. She joined the crew of her first superyacht in the Hamptons as a stewardess, but as soon as the opportunity presented itself, she became a deckhand, so she could be a sailor once more. She spent the next five years sailing from Germany to Thailand, from Florida to the Caribbean, and from France to Turkey, discovering every port town and harbor along the way. Her experience aboard superyachts owned by billionaires, celebrities, or successful entrepreneurs allowed her to gain a unique perspective into the UHNWI lifestyle. Roxanne left the yachting industry as a Master of 200 tons (Offshore), and to this day, she still holds superyachts close to her heart. Upon her return to Montreal, Roxanne decided to perfect her skills at servicing the elite to better understand the affluent community and the luxury market. She became the Personal Assistant to an UHNWI for several years, following her employer from destination to destination and from business meetings to family trips. All the joinery has accents of bevelled glass relief on mirror frame adding Art Deco design touches to the room. The AV package was a very important part of the brief as the client is a tech aficionado. The 75inch TV is specially made for the client and is hidden behind a light sliding panel covered with vellum tiles and set in rosewoodThe client’s turntable and DJ equipment is neatly stored in a specially designed niche concealed by a commissioned eglomise painting fitted to a motorized track sliding into a pocket. The client brief focused on sophisticated and timeless interior design, making this apartment luxurious and elegant as well as a comfortable holiday home for the family. The dining room has a gorgeous feature wall that combines gold and silver leaf panels with a mottled ombre paint effect. On the opposite wall the bronze profile and glass bespoke joinery is framed by a tortoise shell and tiger eye mosaic which is subtly backlit. Over the dining table, the exquisitely coloured blown glass chandelier pendants emit a warm glow that adds to the ambiance of the room. The bedrooms are designed for maximum comfort with elegance. The furniture has been carefully selected and where suitable, made bespoke to suit the client’s requirement. A selection of luxurious hand painted silk wallpaper and crystal mirror relief panels create the perfect backdrop for each of the rooms. By 1958, the property was sold off, and in 1974, Thurston Twigg-Smith bought it, coming up with a plan for a bed and breakfast. Twigg-Smith strived to keep the farmhouse as the center but wanted each cottage to express its own character, and as such, Twin Farms opened in its current state in 1993. Twin Farms is now Vermont’s only five-star experience with an art collection. Johnson, who designed the interior spaces with associate Alan Wanzenberg, blended American folk with contemporary art, adding a varied collection to multiple luxurious spaces. Playing off the lush fabrics and natural woods are hand-painted murals, woodwork, folk art, and contemporary oils. The grounds, complementing the rustic character, aspire to a joyous, fun nature that embraces and respects its surrounding environment. The setting is split between public areas – the Dining Room, Barn Room, Pub, Cabana, and Fitness Center – and 20 distinctive lodgings, featuring king-size feather beds, sitting areas with wood-burning fireplaces, and screened porches, all in secluded woodland settings.
