kitchen space, adding two new islands to the center of it. Their architectural background came into play as they faced a logistical plumbing issue that required some creative rethinking in order to fnd a solution. They turned the problem into a design feature by adding a special wall that hid the water supply and drain pipes.

GLOBAL FLAIR Not only does hausscape have Miami area clients, but an international reach as well. Doing

projects in other countries can present additional complications; however, they do not shy away from a challenge. The company recently undertook a remodel of all of the kitchens and bathrooms in an 86-unit apartment building in Trinidad and Tobago. “With all of the difculties of doing a job in Trinidad and Tobago, we put together efcient logistics: We manufactured the doors in China, we brought the kitchens from Germany, the same [for] all of the cabinetry and fooring, and

fnishes from Turkey and Spain. It was a very nice project – we’re very proud of it,” adds Luis. While the company caters to clients from around the globe, much of its success is based on repeat local customers. For example, the client who commissioned the Fisher Island project sold the condo and purchased a 17,000-sq.-ft. house in the Gables Estates area of Miami. She has asked hausscape to come back and remodel her kitchen, which according to Luis is the largest kitchen project they have ever done. As the frm grows, the couple has taken measures to ensure that the business stays strong, such as hiring a PR agency to handle the marketing side of the business. Those marketing eforts have already resulted in new business: Someone who saw the agency’s press release on the award-winning Fisher Island condo has now commissioned hausscape to do their kitchen. Concludes Luis: “We really can’t complain.”
