FAQs
Who are Climate Group?
Our mission is to drive climate action. Fast. And for decades our Asia Pacific members have been the engine behind climate action in the region.
We’re a member-based organisation headquartered in London with offices in New Delhi, Beijing, New York and Amsterdam. We run international business initiatives and campaigns alongside a coalition of sub-national government leaders led by the Governor of South Chungcheongnam-do, Kim Tae-heum.
Why are you hosting this in Seoul?
South Korea is ideally suited to host large regional and international corporates looking to take a leadership role in the energy transition and heavy industry decarbonisation.
The country is in the heartland of a region where the production of steel, cars, energy and high-tech facilities come together. We have 41 members in South Korea itself, many of which are RE100 members, and a total of 194 members at a close distance of Seoul, who are driving the demand for net zero products in their own sectors.
What can I expect?
The Summit a full program of participant-led sessions for climate decision makers, culminating in a networking reception at the end of the day.
You can expect high level leadership from across Asia in attendance, closed door roundtables and hands on workshops to open talks and spotlight debates.
What do you want to achieve by hosting this event?
The Asia Action Summit is a dedicated event focusing specifically on the Asia
region and its role in reaching net zero. The Summit is a space for collaborating, connecting and collectively tackling two of the biggest climate and economic challenges in the region. We want to make sure that we have an open, lively conversation with business and industry leaders, politicians, regional governments and industry thought leaders about the challenges and opportunities that the region faces in decarbonising its energy and heavy industry sector.
How is this event different?
We know events alone will not change the world. But the people and conversations at them can. We need a little less conversation and a lot more action at events. And we’ve seen a huge demand from our business, policy and NGO networks for an open and honest platform that pushes progress and delivers tangible outcomes.
So, we’ve designed an agenda that puts participation at the center of the programme. We are creating open spaces for off the record conversations and for you to drive the discussions.
How can I participate?
This year there are several ways to join the conversation and help drive climate action:
• Find updates about the event on our website including events where you can participate.
• Limited capacity in-person closed door sessions. Priority will be given to climate leaders implementing action and key decision makers.
• Share our messaging across your channels to spread the important message of driving green growth in Asia.
When will the programme be released?
The full program, including the Spotlight Agenda and the breakout sessions, will be released close to the event.
You must be registered to gain access to the full programme.
