ACTORS Katie is walking through the doors of her favorite coffee shop when her phone beeps with a text message. She checks the message. Katie expresses an annoyed disappointment. Katie sits down at a table.

Phone shows a picture of a hunk with a heart-shaped frame. "Running late for our coffee date. there in 5 minutes"

She sets her phone down on the table.
Shifts from passive to active state. An area surrounding the phone glows. She places her backpack/bag beside her The signature "coffee stain coaster" chair on the floor. (henceforth, "ring") appears. A personalized welcome message appears from the ring. Katies locus is now the messages on the surface. A short list of katie's favorite coffee beverages appears. [A] Katies selects an ethiopian bean coffee. The surface displays a new window that affords katie the amount of cream. [B-C] Katie chooses her desired creamer [D-E] Katie chooses amount of cream [F] Katie hits the submit button The surface briefly shows a queue informing katie of which barista is making her order and her order's estimated time of arrival. The info shrinks down to a small tab the sticks out of the 'ring'. the tab only displays the estimated time remaining until her order arrives. [G-H] Katie drags a tab sticking out of the 'ring'.
Katie's selected tab has a music icon on it. The jukebox interface appears. It displays the song currently playing, a short list of songs that are candidates for the next song, an input for voting on the next song, and a volume control. (the music currently playing in the shop is loud rock)
[I] Katie votes for a classical song.

several votes. [J-K] Katie turns down the volume.
feedback confirms the volume of the speaker in her area has been decreased.
[L-M] Katie swipes the jukebox window back toward the ring.
window slides back to ring, transforming into original tab.
Katie takes a William Faulkner book from her bag and sets it on the table. She flips through the pages finding where she left off.
A glow appears around the book. A message pops up, displaying information about the book. A message asks, "would you like to share what you are reading with everyone?"
Katie notices the message regarding her book. [N] She selects affirmatively to share what she is reading.
The message goes away. A 'badge' of information appears on the periphery. the badge shows what katie is drinking, reading, and what song she voted for. below the badge shows a list of other users in the shop.
Katie reads. She is satisfied with the situation. A barista delivers katie's coffee. sets it down on the 'ring'.
The surface dims slightly. The surface returns to He brightness. The "time tab disappears. A new percentage of how much remaining [100%].
Katie picks up her coffee and takes a big drink. Katie reads the message and smiles Katie sets her coffee down on the table.
Katie surveys the cafe and notices a young man waving at her. She waves back.

A message shows that someone [Alex H.] has 'liked' her status update regarding the Faulkner book she is reading. The 'ring' appears below wherever she sets the cup down on the table. The percentage remaining updates [94%]. An invitation from Alex H. appears asking Katie if she would like to join his table. Katie's phone beeps with a message.
Katie taps her phone to read the text message. Katie looks at the text message and back at the invitation. She ponders. [O] Katie accepts the invitation. - CUT TO BLACK -
The message on the phone reads: "Decided to get a drink with the guys instead."
