Home made with love

Happy Easter Bunny made of puff pastry

Preparation

• Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Boil the eggs to the desired degree of cooking and cool them in cold water.

When they are cooled down you can draw a little face on them. As shown in the picture.

• Mix the butter with the sugar and cinnamon. You can do this with a fork.

Roll out the puff pastry and spread half of it lengthwise with the butter mixture.

Fold the puff pastry in half lengthwise, so that the butter mixture is in between and is no longer visible. Cut the puff pastry into four long strips and press the ends together. We did this with tongs, so that you get a nice pattern, but you can also use, for example, a fork.

• Take the baking tray and place the baking paper on it. Place an egg on the baking paper and grab the ends of a strip of puff pastry. Fold the puff pastry around the egg, cross the ends and lay them down like ears.

• Remove the egg, fill the space with the baking beans and bake in the middle of the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown and baked. When the buns have cooled down remove the baking beans. Carefully place the Easter bunnies each on a plate with the egg in the middle. Pick a few edible flowers and place them above the ‘head’ under the ears.

Ingredients 4 people:

• Roll of fresh puff pastry (270 gr) • 50 gr unsalted butter • at room temperature • 2 tablespoons light • brown sugar • 2 teaspoons cinnamon • 4 eggs • Edible flowers

Supplies:

• Fineliner • Baking paper • Ceramic Baking Beans

Tip: Orange bowls

After you squeeze oranges for youre juice, you can use the peel as a yogurt bowl with your favorite granola/fruit toppings. Looks super festive!

Easter pavlova with whipped cream, pineapple compote and edible flowers

Preparation

• Peel the pineapple and cut the flesh into small pieces. Cut the core and trimmings into smaller pieces and put on the fire together with the jelly sugar, the grater and juice of the lime. Stir in a little freshly ground black pepper. When it boils, let it simmer gently for 5 minutes and then strain the waste of the pineapple from the sugar mixture. Mix the mixture with the fresh pieces and let it cool.

• Preheat the oven to 120 degrees. Beat the egg whites until fluffy and slowly add the sugar. Beat until firm peaks form. Mix in the cornstarch and a dash of vinegar.

Place baking paper on a baking tray and make a wreath of the egg white foam.

You can do this with a piping bag, but also with an ice cream scoop by placing balls side by side. Place it in the oven and let it dry there for 2.5 hours. Take it out of the oven and let it cool.

• Whip the whipped cream with the powdered sugar. Place the pavlova on a beautiful Bunzlau Castle plate. The photo shows a pizza plate Ø: 33 cm. This plate is very suitable for lovely cakes or desserts. Spread 2/3 of the pineapple compote over the pavlova and then using a piping bag, pipe the whipped cream nicely on top. If you like it rustic, you can also do it with a spoon. Then spoon the rest of the compote over the pavlova. Finish the pavlova with beautiful edible flowers as shown on the picture.

Ingredients:

Pavlova • 3 egg whites • 100 gr sugar • Half a tablespoon cornstarch • Small dash of vinegar

Slagroom • 125 ml whipped cream • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Ananascompote • ½ ripe pineapple • 100 gr jelly sugar • 1 lime • Fresh black pepper

Supplies:

• Piping bag • Baking paper • Sieve
