TABLE OF CONTENTS CHAPTER I CHAPTER II CHAPTER III CHAPTER IV CHAPTER V CHAPTER VI DEAR READER ABOUT THE AUTHOR

CHAPTER I "You have got to be kidding me," I whined, groaning into my pillow while the alarm on my phone blared away. "How can it be morning already? I just went to sleep." Well, not really. I did go to bed at a reasonable hour the night before. I just didn't fall asleep until dawn was breaking. It was one of those nights when you can't get your mind to stop racing no matter how hard you try to shut it off. Too sleepy to reach for the phone and toss it out the window, I pulled the covers over my head and tried to ignore the annoying beep. As the phone went silent, I thought about spending the morning in bed to catch up on some much needed sleep. After all, it was a Saturday a nd I didn't have to go to work. But then I remembered that I had a yoga class that morning and many errands to run that day. So I peeled my sleep-deprived body off the bed and dragged it into the bathroom. After a long, cold shower, my body felt a little stiff but I was fully awake. Realizing I didn't have much time before I had to be at my class, I quickly slipped into my favorite black and gold yoga outfit and rushed back into the bathroom to do my hair. There, I stared at my make- up free face in the mirror, and that‟s when it hit me: I was no longer Mrs. Peter MacDougal. Even though Peter and I had been separated for over a year prior to finalizing our divorce, the magnitude of that life-altering event hadn't really sunk in until that morning when I caught my reflection in the mirror. It didn‟t even register when I signed the papers in his lawyer's office two days earlier. I guess part of me was still in denial about the whole thing. I let out a heavy sigh while pulling my long, auburn hair into a high ponytail. A mixture of dread and fear washed over me. The word „divorcee‟ is a term I never thought I'd use to describe myself. But there I was: A thirty-two- year-old childless divorcee, alone in a house too big for one person and wondering where the last fourteen years of her life had gone. I had been with Peter since I was eighteen years old. When I met him, I was a freshman at Boston College and worked part-time at a fancy restaurant in downtown Boston. One night after my shift, my crappy car broke down in the middle of the road and Peter stopped to help. After calling me a tow truck, he gave me a ride back to my dorm. On the way to the campus, I learned that Peter was single, worked in real estate, and was fifteen years older than me. The age difference worried me, but Peter was so charming and confident I decided to overlook it. When he dropped me off at my dorm that night, he asked me for my number and I gave it to him. He called a week later and took me on the most romantic date I had ever been on. We became inseparable after that. Peter and I had been dating for just a few months when he got down on one knee and put a gigantic 18-karat diamond ring on my finger. I said yes without hesitation. Many people around me told me I was rushing into things, but I ignored their warnings. What can I say? Back then, I was a naïve and inexperienced eighteen-year-old. Prior to Peter, I had never had a real boyfriend. Most guys I met back then were total jerks who were only interested in getting in my pants, or at least that's what it felt like.

Then Peter came along. He said all the right things, treated me like a princess and swore to always be faithful to me. I believed his promises, married him, and moved across the country with him. Looking back, I wish I hadn‟t done any of those things. Just a few months into our marriage, the true Peter revealed himself. He became possessive and condescending and was incapable of keeping it in his pants. Every time I confronted Peter about his cheating, he either denied he was stepp ing out on me or promised he‟d never do it again. But he kept sticking it into anything that walked. I wanted to leave him but the naïve girl within me always told me not to. I honestly thought I could change him. All that changed a year ago when I decided to pop in to Peter‟s office unannounced and found a half- naked, voluptuous blonde sprawled across Peter‟s desk with her legs up in the air. Peter rabidly plunged into her until he saw me standing at the door. After witnessing that disgusting, humiliating scene, I ran home. Peter didn't even bother to chase after me. That's when I realized I had to leave the scumbag. Peter MacDougal was a philandering prick and was never going to stop being one. Later that day, Peter came home and I told him I was leaving him. Once again, he begged me to forgive him and promised he‟d change. I refused to listen to any more of his lies and empty promises. The man had no respect for me or our marriage. That night, I made him sleep on the couch in the living room. The next day I packed all his things and hired a moving company to take them to his office. Afterward, I visited my lawyer's office and filed for divorce. Leaving Peter was the scariest thing I had ever done. All of a sudden, I had to learn to get by on my own, something I hadn‟t done in over a decade. I have a teaching degree but hadn‟t taught a single day in my life because Peter wouldn‟t let me work. Who‟s going to hire a thirtytwo-year-old teacher with no experience? I wondered. Would I have to give up the house and get a place of my own? How was I going to afford it? Would I have to move and leave all my friends behind? These were the type of questions that kept me up at night. This past year was a pretty hectic one for me to say the least. But with the help of my friends and my very competent lawyer, I landed on my feet. I found a per-diem teaching position at a nearby private school. Even though we had a pre-nup, my lawyer got my scumbag exhusband to agree to let me keep the house. Alimony payments were also part of the divorce settlement, but I wasn‟t exactly swimming in cash. The house, a 4-bedroom Spanish-style home, wasn‟t cheap to maintain, and my per diem teaching job didn‟t pay much. But I was comfortable and grateful that I didn‟t have to alter my lifestyle too much after the divorce. But my finances were not the only thing stressing me out. Getting back into the dating scene had been a frustrating, terrifying experience. I have been on very few dates post-Peter. And that's because I'm very awkward in them. I just don't know how to act or what to say. After trying out the club scene a few times, I decided I was too old for it. And I won't even get into the horrifying experiences I've had with online dating. Let's just say that the last guy I met online creeped me out so much, I decided to get rid of my computer. After the most recent disaster date, I decided to swear men off for a while and focus on other aspects of my life such as my career. I started writing a lot and spending time with friends. I also considered going back to school to get a master's degree. The last few months leading to the signing of the divorce papers were fun, productive ones for me. But I knew that sooner or later I was going to have to start dating again. Dating terrified me, but the possibility of spending the rest of my life alone terrified me even more.

That morning in the bathroom, I examined my face and body carefully in the mirror. I thought I looked decent for thirty-two. I didn‟t have any lines on my face yet which I was grateful for. I practiced a lot of yoga and watched what I ate so my body was in good shape. Still, I didn‟t think there were too many grown, normal men out there looking to date a shy, sheltered divorcee with tons of emotional baggage and trust issues. After I finished doing my hair, I stepped back into the bedroom to put on my running shoes. It was a beautiful, cool late spring morning. The sun was shining bright, and I couldn‟t wait to get outside. I checked the time again. When I saw how late I was for my yoga class, I began shoving things inside my bag as fast as I could. That's when the doorbell began buzzing. With my yoga mat under one arm and my bag slung over the other, I rushed downstairs. I made my way to the front door thinking either a salesman or a Jehovah‟s Witness was paying me a visit that early on a Saturday. I swung the door open, ready to politely dismiss whoever was on the other side of it. If I didn't get on the road immediately, I was going to miss my class. "Listen. I'm sorry but...," I said, my voice trailing off when my eyes landed on the tall glass of hotness standing on my welcome mat. Holy crap. My mind went blank and my pulse began to race. The man was, without a doubt, the most gorgeous specimen I had ever laid eyes on. I‟m talking movie star gorgeous. I just stared at him with my mouth hanging open. He was mesmerizing. Pretty, too pretty… and also young, not jail bait young, but young enough that I felt like a total pervert for having the thoughts I was having. Suddenly, yoga didn't seem so important. I was ready to buy whatever it was that gorgeous boy was selling. “Hi. My name is Cade and I just moved into the house at the end of the block,” the handsome man-boy said, reaching out for my hand. A crooked grin stretched his ridiculous ly gorgeous face. I saw dimples. Sigh. I'm a sucker for dimples on a man's face. His voice was deep, gravelly, sexy as hell. I detected a bit of an accent. Midwestern maybe. I set the rolled-up yoga mat down between my legs so I could shake his hand. It fe lt calloused and rough against mine, and I immediately started to wonder how that hand would feel on other parts of my body. Stop it, Sidney! He‟s a child for God‟s sake! “Hi, Cade. I‟m Sidney. Sidney MacDougal. Welcome to the neighborhood,” I managed to say while pretending his astonishing hotness wasn‟t turning my knees to Jell-O. I smiled and nodded politely while he talked about his family and the neighborhood. Or at least that's what I thought he was talking about. The truth is I wasn't really listening to the words coming out of his perfectly shaped, kissable lips. How could I? I was too distracted by the pair of piercing sky blue eyes trying to bore a hole through me. He stared at me in a way that excited me but also made me uncomfortable. It was very strange. Even though he looked very young, he had an air of confidence and maturity about him that didn‟t match his age. How old did he look? I‟d say twenty, twenty-two tops. I held Cade‟s gaze for most of the conversation but I noticed his eyes would occ asionally slip down to my breasts and my bare midriff. He clearly liked what he was seeing judging by the way he held his lower lip between his teeth every time his wandering eyes rolled up and down my Lycra-covered body. When I managed to wrestle my eyes away from his smoldering gaze, I noticed he had a body that was just as spectacular as his face. He had a tight, sleeveless t-shirt on that drew attention to his bulging, sun-kissed biceps. The t-shirt was tight and thin enough that I could see

some of the cords and ridges on his torso through it. Cade was definitely not a stranger to the gym. He had a muscular body, but not yucky, body builder muscular. His build was more like that of a runner or a boxer, which to me was just perfect. “So...Do you?” Cade asked while pulling something out of the back pocket of his khaki shorts. “I‟m sorry. Do I what?” I replied, embarrassed that I had not been listening. “Do you have anything around your house that needs fixing?" He handed me a white business card. Cade Fisher, Landscaping/Repair Services, the card read. There was a telephone number and an email address printed on it. Unfortunately, my lawn had just been mowed and I couldn't think of anything in the house that needed fixing. “Sorry. I don‟t,” I said. “Well, I‟ll be around all summer. If you need someone to mow your lawn or repair your air conditioner, I‟m your guy. I have references if you need them and I‟m affordable.” His crooked smirk transformed into a white toothed smile. "Anything you need...I'm at your service, Sidney MacDougal." He was definitely flirting with me. I wanted to flirt back but I refrained. I was a respected educator in a very small, close-knit community. It would've been inappropriate for me to be flirting with someone like Cade. “I‟ll keep that in mind,” I said, shoving the business card in my bag. “I hope you do,” Cade replied, smirking again. “I‟m very good with my hands.” He was being shameless now. I was loving every second of it, but hid my amusement behind an unreadable expression. “Well, Cade. I have to get to my class. It was very nice meeting you,” I said before turning my back to him so I could lock my front door. “It was very nice to meet you too, Sidney,” he replied. I turned back around and he was still standing there, blocking my way. I shot him a nervous smile as he hovered over me, tall, imposing, impossibly sexy. When I realized he wasn't going to move, I stepped around him so I could get to my Audi A7 parked at the end of the driveway. I could feel his gaze boring a hole in my ass as I walked away from him. I felt flustered and my hands were shaking, but I managed to keep it together until I was safely inside my car. Once I was seated behind the wheel, I let out the breath I had been holding. After starting the car, I glanc ed back at my front door through the glass window. Cade was still standing in front of it, watching me intently with a shameless, lustful grin on his face. I drove away and let out another sharp breath once I knew his hot gaze was no longer scorching my flesh. What the heck was that, Sidney? I mentally scolded myself. Get it together. You‟re a grown woman. Start acting like one. I turned the radio on and set it on the most boring station I could find. I was trying to get my mind to focus on anything other than Cade Fisher but I was failing miserably. The more I tried to not think about my hot new neighbor, the dirtier my daydreams about him got. After pulling into the parking lot of my gym a few minutes later, I grabbed Cade‟s business card out of my bag and held it between my fingers. For a second, I felt tempted to break something in the house just to have an excuse to dial the number listed on that card. But I quickly reminded myself that doing something like that would've been not only inappropriate but a lso dangerous. So I wouldn't be tempted later on, I got out of the car, tore the card up and dumped the pieces in a garbage can at the entrance of the gym. In class, I tried to get my mind to relax and focus on the yoga. The whole 'Let's not think about Cade for a minute' brain exercise was still failing miserably. I was so angry at myself. How could I be that obsessed with someone I just met? I felt like I was back in high school and it was

embarrassing. That yoga session was a complete waste of time. It d id not relax me at all. It actually made me more stressed. Sigh.

CHAPTER II “Did you hear what I just said, Sidney?” Gloria, my friend and colleague, asked while snapping her fingers in front of my face. “You‟ve been spacing out a lot lately. What is go ing on with you, woman?” Gloria stared at me with a furrowed brow while stabbing a piece of lettuce with her fork and shoving it in her mouth. Gloria knew me well. We‟ve been friends and yoga buddies since I moved into the neighborhood. She had been a teac her at St. Francis High School for years and the reason I had a job there. “I‟m sorry. It‟s nothing,” I said, taking a sip from my iced tea. That was a lie. I kept spacing out because I couldn‟t get Cade Fisher out of my head. Almost a whole week had passed since I met my sinfully hot neighbor. I hadn‟t seen him again since that day outside my house, yet I still couldn‟t stop thinking about him. My dreams about him had gotten so filthy, I'd turn beet red while replaying them in my head which I was doing non-stop. I just started telling people I developed a skin allergy. It was easier than explaining that I, a grown woman, was having inappropriate, dirty thoughts about the neighbor's son. Gloria was my best friend. She knew all my most intimate secrets. I trusted her with my life, but I couldn‟t tell her about Cade. It was too embarrassing. “So what do you say? Will you go out with Kevin?” For weeks, Gloria had been trying to set me up with her brother‟s best friend. According to Gloria, Kevin Reese was the perfect guy for me on paper, whatever that means. I‟d never seen or met Kevin. All I knew about the guy was that he was recently divorced, had a son, and worked as an insurance adjuster. Honestly, to me Kevin sounded like the most boring guy on earth. After some awful experiences, I was weary of blind dates. But it meant a great deal to Gloria that I go on a date with Kevin. I knew she wasn‟t going to stop bugging me about it until I agreed to go out with Mr. Boring McBore, so I caved. “Fine,” I groaned, rolling my eyes and sticking a French fry in my mouth. “But he better not be crazy,” I added, pointing the half eaten fry at Gloria. Gloria began to wiggle in her chair and clap her hands like a deranged seal. “I promise you he is very sane. I‟m telling you Sidney, Kevin is the perfect guy for you. I wouldn‟t have bugged you about it for this long if I didn‟t think he was your perfect match. You will love him.” I scoffed while Gloria picked her phone up off the table and began dialing. I assumed she was calling Kevin to give him the good news. I wasn‟t sure I‟d like Kevin, but I figured a night out with him might help me get my mind off pretty Cade at least for a couple of hours. Gloria set the date up right there in front of me. She decided on the where and the when without any input from Kevin or me. After hanging up, Gloria informed me that Kevin was to take me to dinner and then to a movie. That sounded as exciting as a root canal, but I plastered a fake smile on my face and feigned as much enthusiasm as I could.

CHAPTER III Two days later, I made my way to my neighbor Dana‟s house to return an electric mixer I had borrowed from her. Dana lived directly across the street from me. She was the first person to welcome me to the neighborhood when Peter and I mo ved in. She was what you would call a typical housewife, stay at home mom. She had three young children she was madly in love with, but on more than one occasion, she had confessed to me how bored she was with her life. Her husband, whom she had married at a very young age, was very good to her but worked constantly. She felt lonely and neglected, just like I did when I was married to Peter. Dana and I bonded over that and became good friends. That afternoon, I knocked on Dana‟s front door and her adorable five-year-old son let me inside the house. “Hi, Dylan. Where‟s your mommy?” I asked him. “She‟s in the kitchen,” he shouted before running up the stairs and disappearing from view. With the electric mixer in my hands, I made my way to the kitchen. From the hallway, I could see Dana sitting at the breakfast counter with her fist tucked under her chin and a dreamy look plastered on her face. She was staring intently at something or someone on the opposite side of the kitchen. As I got closer, I could hear metal clanking sounds that appeared to be coming from under the kitchen sink. When I stepped into the room, Dana snapped her head towards me. “Oh, hey, Sidney. What are you doing here?” she breathed, looking like a kid who had been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Her eyes darted back and forth between me and the sink. That's when I realized there was someone else in the room. “I came to return the mixer I borrowed. What are you up to?” I asked, standing on my tippy toes to try and see who it was crouching under Dana‟s sink. But I couldn't see anything because the breakfast counter was blocking my view. That‟s when Cade, wearing a damp tank top and shorts, sprung to his feet and turned toward Dana and me. My stomach did a flip when his stunning blue gaze met mine. I didn‟t think it was possible but that day, he looked a million times hotter than he did a week earlier when we met outside my house. “Hi,” Cade breathed, looking flustered and wiping his hands on a rag. His face broke into that charming, confident smile that made my toes curl. Hello dimples. Oh how I’ve missed seeing you. His eyes were so hypnotizing, I forgot to breathe for a second. I even forgot where I was...until Dana spoke and broke the spell. “Sidney, this is Cade, our new neighbor. Cade, this is my friend Sidney. She lives across the street.” “I know,” Cade breathed without taking his eyes off me. “We met a few days back. Nice seeing you again, Sidney.” “It‟s good to see you too, Cade. I see you found work.” “Yeah. Actually, I‟ve been pretty busy ever since I started handing out my business cards. It‟s funny but almost every house in this neighborhood seems to have a plumbing problem.” Cade shot Dana a knowing smirk before returning his gaze to me. It was obvious he knew what was going on. He knew he wasn‟t getting all that work because of his handyman

skills. But he didn‟t seem to mind having all these housewives ogling him. If anything, he seemed to be getting a kick out of it. “Good for you, Cade. I‟m glad you‟re putting your skills to good use,” I shot back with a knowing smirk of my own which elicited a bashful chuckle from Cade and made him do that thing where he drags his lower lip between his teeth. Sigh. I wish he‟d stop doing that. I was beginning to think he was doing it on purpose just to torture me. “Dana? Could I speak to you in private please?” I said to my shameless friend without taking my eyes off Cade. After placing the mixer on the kitchen counter, I walked out to the living room and Dana reluctantly followed me there. “Oh My God Sidney! Is he gorgeous or what?” Dana squealed like a school girl after making sure Case was out of earshot. “What are you doing Dana?” I asked, my tone disapproving. With my hands on my hips, I narrowed my eyes at her. “What?” She whispered sheepishly with a shrug. “My sink was clogged so I hired our new neighbor to fix it. That‟s all.” I cocked my head to the side. “You just had someone unclog your sink less than a week ago. How could it possibly be clogged again?” Dana pursed her lips before letting out an exasperated breath. “Fine. You got me. I clogged it on purpose so I could have an excuse to get Hottie McHot in my house. So what? Is that so terrible?” “It‟s wrong, Dana, and you know it. You‟re a married thirty-five-year-old woman and Cade is practically a child. It‟s wrong for you to be ogling him like that.” “I‟m not hurting anyone, Sidney. I won‟t try to seduce him or anything. I‟m not crazy. I love my hubby even though I rarely get to see him anymore. I'd never cheat on him with anyone. Cade is just eye candy, a treat. Besides, I‟m paying him well. It‟s a win-win for everyone if you ask me.” I let out a heavy sigh. I guess Dana had a point. There was no harm in what she was doing as long as she kept her fantasies in her head. No one was getting hurt there. Dana was a very level- headed woman. I knew she wouldn‟t try to do anything stupid like cross the line with Cade, especially with her kids in the house. I decided to get out of her way and let her enjoy her eye candy. She deserved it. She was a good wife and an even better mother. Dana and I made our way back to the kitchen and found Cade standing on the other side of the breakfast counter facing us. He had his head down while digging for something inside his toolbox. When Dana and I entered the room, he looked up. His eyes immediately found me and his face lit up. “I‟m almost done here, Mrs. Griffin,” he said, briefly flickering his gaze to Dana. “Please. Call me Dana,” my shameless friend purred, smiling wide and twirling a lock of hair between her fingers. I shook my head while trying to stifle a laugh. Cade looked as amused as I was with her behavior. He and I shared another knowing smirk. “Well, I have to get going. Good to see you, Cade,” I said to the handsome handyman who seemed disappointed to see me go. “I‟ll talk to you later,” I said to Dana, out loud, before leaning in to whisper in her ear. “And behave yourself.” I turned on my heel and was about to walk out of the room when Dana grabbed my wrist. “Wait a second, Sidney. The deck in your backyard… Doesn‟t it need to be repaired? Maybe Cade can help you with that,” she said, smirking, her eyes wide with mischief. I began to stammer like an idiot, not knowing what to say. Dana's suggestion caught me completely off guard. I wanted to strangle her. My gaze flickered from Cade to Dana and back to

Cade. He seemed thrilled with Dana‟s idea and eagerly awaited my reply. “Nah. It‟s okay. Cade‟s probably very busy with all the faulty plumbing around the neighborhood that he has to fix. Besides, I already hired someone to fix my deck. He‟s coming over in a couple of days.” I said all this through gritted teeth while scolding Dana with my eyes. I was not making excuses. I had, in fact, hired someone to fix my deck. “But how much is that guy going to charge you, honey? I bet Cade here can fix it for you for a lot less. Isn‟t that right Cade?” Cade nodded. “Yeah. I don‟t know what price that guy quoted you, but I bet it's a lot more than what I'd charge you,” He held his lower lip between his teeth again. Yep. He knew what that did to me. He was doing it on purpose. The bastard. “Besides, with me, you won‟t have to wait two days. I could fix your deck for you right now. I just need a few minutes to finish up here and I‟m all yours.” He flashed his dimples at me. Sigh. Pure torture. I began to stammer like an idiot again, my gaze bouncing between Cade and Dana as I tried to come up with an excuse to keep Cade out of my house. I had no doubt he could do the deck work. It wasn't a complicated repair job. I just didn‟t want to be alone with him. It had been a while since the last time I got laid. I had needs, needs that were keeping me up at night, needs I couldn‟t ignore no matter how much yoga I did to distract myself from them. Night after night since I met him, I had been daydreaming about Cade Fisher satisfying those needs. But fantasizing about the guy was one thing. Acting on those fantasies was another thing entirely. He was too young. I was afraid of doing things I'd regret if I suddenly found myself alone with him for a long period of time. That's why I didn't want him in my house. Unfortunately, that morning, I didn't have a good reason to reject Cade‟s handyman services. Thanks a lot, Dana. “Fine. I guess you can fix my deck, Cade,” I finally sa id. Cade‟s face broke into a slow smile. “Great. I‟ll be over in a few minutes.” I turned on my heel and finally walked out of that kitchen, but not before shooting Dana a deadly look. She stuck her tongue out at me before turning her attention back to the pretty repairman. I rolled my eyes at her and headed for the front door. I wasn‟t really angry at Dana. I understood what she was trying to do. Like a good friend, she was trying to share her eye candy with me and I love her for that. I just wish she hadn't ambushed me like that. I knew the next few hours were going to be pure torture.

CHAPTER IV After leaving Dana‟s house, I crossed the street and went into mine. I was determined to have as little contact with Cade as possible. I was just going to show him what needed to be done and leave him alone on the deck until he was finished. While waiting for him to show up, I paced back and forth in my living room. My pulse was already racing and he wasn‟t even in the house yet. Damn it Dana! Why did you have to open your big mouth about the deck? About twenty long, agonizing minutes later, there was a knock on my door. With a fleet of butterflies swarming my stomach, I took a deep breath and went to let Cade in. “Hi,” Cade breathed, flashing his signature, slow- motion devastating smile at me. The front of his tank top was still damp and clinging to his magnificent torso and he had his toolbox with him. “Hi. Please come in,” I said, trying my best to hide how nervous I was. “Nice place you got here,” Cade remarked, walking past me and strolling around my living room as if he owned the place. “Thank you.” I shut the door and leaned against it while Cade continued to survey the place. Once he was done, he turned his attention back to me. He just stared at me without saying anything. It was almost as if he knew the effect he had on me and enjoyed making me feel uncomfortable. When I couldn't handle the heat of his lustful gaze anymore, I rushed past him, out of the living room and toward the deck. “Come with me," I hollered. "I‟ll take you out to the deck.” Once outside, I showed him the parts of the deck that needed fixing and got out of his way. I stood by the kitchen door while he walked around, meticulously inspecting every piece of lumber. When he was done, he slowly strolled back to where I was and stood uncomfortably close to me. “You know, this deck is in pretty bad shape,” he said with his hands on his hips. “I know. I would've gotten it fixed a long time ago but couldn‟t afford to hire anyone until now.” “What about your husband? Why didn‟t he just fix it himself?” “I don‟t have a husband… not anymore.” One of Cade‟s eyebrows went up. “So, you‟re divorced?” I nodded. “I‟m sorry to hear that,” Cade breathed, sounding insincere, almost gleeful. “What happened?” I cross my arms over my chest and shook my head. “Boy, you‟re just full of questions today, aren‟t you?” Cade dropped his chin to his chest and let out an embarrassed chuckle. “I‟m sorry. You‟re right. That‟s none of my business.” He turned his back to me and walked to the other end of the deck to inspect it a second time. “I‟m going to need wood,” he said, his back still towards me. “I‟ll have to swing by a Home Depot to pick some up before I can get started.” “There‟s no need. My ex bought all the wood and tools he needed for the job about a year ago. Everything is in the garage.”

After I helped Cade get everything he needed out of the garage, he gave me an estimate for the job. The price he quoted me was actually half of what the contractor I was going to hire had given me. I was very relieved and grateful that Dana had suggested Cade do the job. I was still nervous and uncomfortable around him, but for the price he quoted, I figured I could keep my lust in check for a few hours. Once Cade was set up with all the things he needed for the job, I went back inside the house and let him work. Through the kitchen window, I watched him as he took his tank top off, put on his safety goggles, and went to work. The sight of his taut, sun-kissed muscles flexing and relaxing as he got down and dirty was almost too much for my poor senses to handle. It was, without a doubt, the most erotic thing my eyes had ever witnessed. He was drilling and sawing and nailing like he was mad at the wood. It didn't take long for his whole body to be glistening with sweat and I couldn‟t look away. As time passed, my lust for the smoking hot handyman turned into genuine concern. It was almost one hundred degrees outside that day. Cade was sweating so much, his khaki shorts were getting soaked. He looked sluggish and dazed when he moved and kept blinking and wiping his brow. Worried that he‟d pass out, I decided to offer him something to drink. After pouring ice cold lemonade in a couple of tall glasses, I went back outside. “Here. Why don‟t you take a break and drink this,” I said, handing Cade one of the glasses. Cade dropped the electric saw in his hands and shot to his feet. “Thanks. Yeah, I could use a little break.” He still had that sweet smile on his face despite the sweltering heat. W hen he went to grab the glass out of my hand, his fingers brushed mine, lingering on them until I pulled my hand away. My heart dropped to my stomach. Danger, danger, a voice in my ear whispered. Once again, I ran. This time toward the patio set at the bottom of the deck stairs. Cade followed me there and we sat across from each other. For what seemed like an eternity, we just sat there, staring at each other and sipping lemonade in complete and awkward silence. “So, how is it possible that someone so young knows so much about plumbing and fixing decks?” I remarked when I couldn‟t take the weight of his blistering gaze any longer. Cade leaned forward, his elbows on the table, his hands cradling the half- full lemonade glass in front of him. “First of all, I‟m not that young. I‟m nineteen years old, going to be twenty in a couple of months.” Crap. He was even younger than I had estimated. I would have never guessed nineteen. Cade Fisher walked around with the confidence of a man who was at least ten years older than that. That and the oh-so-sexy scruff he was sporting made him look like a grown up. The revelation took me aback. Now I felt even guiltier for having the dirty thoughts and dreams I was having. He was barely legal. He was definitely forbidden fruit a nd more than ever I had to stay away from him. “And to answer your question, my dad taught me to fix things with my hands,” Cade added. “He did?” “Yes. He owned a home repair business. When I was in high school, he‟d let me tag along and help him. That‟s how I learned how to fix plumbing and do a lot of other stuff.” “You said he ran a home repair business. He doesn‟t do that anymore?” Cade‟s expression turned somber. “He passed away a year ago.” “I‟m so sorry to hear that. What happened to him?”

"Well, aren't you full of questions," Cade quipped. His lips made an attempt to smile but the sadness in his eyes gave away just how much pain there was in his heart. "I'm sorry. I didn't meant to..." “I was just kidding. It's okay." After gulping down most of the lemonade left in his glass, he continued. "Car accident. A drunk driver traveling in the opposite direction jumped the median strip of a busy road and plunged into him head on. He died at the scene.” I gasped. “Oh my God, Cade. That‟s horrible. I‟m so sorry.” Without thinking, I reached over and placed my hand on top of his and gave it a little squeeze. I just felt so sad for him. I too had to cope with the tragic death of a parent when I was very young, so I knew exactly how he felt. “After my father died, my mom said she couldn‟t live at our old house anymore because it reminded her too much of him. So she sold it and bought the house down the block.” “That‟s so sad. You must really miss him.” By now I had realized that my hand had been on his too long and awkwardly pulled it away. “I do miss him. He was the best father a person could ask for. I‟m an only child so now it‟s just my mother and me. My father‟s death has been really hard on her so I try my best to show her as much love as possible.” “You‟re a good son, Cade.” He shrugged. “I try. But enough about me. What about you? What are you doing all alone in a house this big?” I sighed. “I thought about selling and moving to a smaller place, but I love this house so much I‟ve decided to stay. Besides, I‟m not alone. I have a cat.” “A cat?” Cade remarked with laughter in his eyes. “A cat is not company. You know what I think?" "What?" "I think it‟s a crime for a woman as beautiful as you to be alone. I don‟t know what happened between you and your ex- husband but he‟s a damn fool if he walked away from you. If I were lucky enough to have a woman like you by my side, there‟s no way I‟d walk away from her.” I looked down at my drink, trying not to smile, no longer able to hold his smoldering gaze. There he was again, making me uncomfortable with his words and the adoring way he was gazing at me. Damn him. Why is he saying those things to me? Doesn‟t he realize how much older I am than him? I needed to get away from him before I did something I‟d regret. I could practically see a red “DANGER” sign flashing over his head. I shot to my feet and picked up both his and my empty glasses off the table. “Well, I‟m going to get back in the house and let you get back to work, Cade.” “That‟s a really nice pool you have over there,” Cade breathed, pointing with his chin at my massive, in- ground, kidney-shaped swimming pool on the other side of the yard. Before I could make a remark, Cade was already on his feet making his way towards it. I put the empty glasses down on the patio table and followed him. “Yeah. This pool is one of the reasons I don‟t want to sell the house. I love swimming,” I said once I was standing on the edge of the pool next to Cade. Cade crossed his arms over his chest. “I love to swim too. At the old house, we had a pool a lot like this one.” “You did?”

“Yeah. My father built it. I loved swimming in it. The new house doesn‟t have a pool and my mother refuses to build one.” Cade snatched his gaze away from the water and turned it towards me. “You know, that lemonade I just had did nothing to cool me off." "Do you want another glass?" "Nope. You know what would really help me cool off?” I narrowed my eyes at him. “What?” “A quick swim in this magnificent pool of yours.” “I have no problem letting you in the water, but how are you going to go for a swim without a bathing suit?” With his hands stuck in the front pockets of his shorts, Cade wiggled his eyebrows at me while dragging his teeth over his lower lip. I shook my head furiously and let out an exaggerated gasp when I figured out what he was hinting at. “No way. Absolutely not.” I turned my back to him and began to walk back towards the deck. “There‟s no way I‟m letting you swim in my pool naked.” “Why not?” Cade asked while chasing after me. I stopped, turned around and scoffed at the audacity of the question. “Why not? Are you kidding me?” “I don‟t see what the big deal is. It‟ll be just a quick swim. And you don‟t have to watch me swim…unless you want to…” There it was again…the maddening lip bite. I wanted to slap him silly. “I said no.” “Why? Who am I hurting?” I kept shaking my head at him. “Someone could peek their head over the fence and see you. The last thing I need is one of these nosy housewives seeing the neighbor‟s kid swimming naked in my pool. You may be new to the neighborhood, but I‟ve lived here for more than a decade. This is a small town. There are no secrets here. I don‟t want to be known as the sick, perverted lady who seduces teenage boys and watches them swim naked in her pool.” “I‟m not a teenage boy, Sidney. I‟m a grown man.” “Nineteen is still a child in my book. And it‟s inappropriate. I‟m sorry.” “Fine,” Case groaned as he walked past me and continued towards the deck. “I‟ll go back to work. I‟m feeling very dizzy right now, but I‟ll go back to work. For all we know I may be suffering from heatstroke but you don‟t care about that. I'll go back to work. I just hope I don‟t pass out.” The word “heatstroke” caught my attention. A heatstroke was a serious health issue that shouldn't be taken lightly. I followed Cade to the deck. “Really?” Cade stopped cold and swung around to face me. He gave me a sad look as I almost bumped into him. “You know Sidney, if I go back to work feeling like this I may die. If I drop dead in your backyard, how are you going to explain it to people? And all because you wouldn't let me take a little swim in your pool. The world will know how heartless you are. How will you be able to live with yourself?” I couldn't tell if he meant all those things or if he was just pulling my leg. Damn him. While he gathered his tools with one hand, he held his head with the other as if he had a headache. The sunburned skin on his face and shoulders looked pretty painful. I still didn't know if he was being serious or not about the heatstroke thing, but I wasn't going to take any chances. Besides, he still had a few more hours to go before he was done with the deck.

I let out a sharp breath. “Okay, okay. You can go for a swim." With a wide-toothed, triumphant smile plastered on his face, Cade made his way back to the pool. I went after him, already second guessing my decision. “Just make it quick, okay? I don‟t want anyone to see you.” Cade paid no mind to my pleas. He just kept walking, undoing the button and zipper of his shorts and kicking his sneakers off as he reached the edge of the pool. When those shorts started to slide down his hips, I covered my eyes with my hands and turned away. I kept my back to him until I heard water splashing around. “The water‟s really good. You should get in,” Cade suggested. His piercing blue eyes sparkled with mischief while his arms slowly treaded water. “Not a chance,” I said with my arms crossed over my chest. I wanted to look like I was annoyed at him but was failing miserably. Cade just look ed yummier than ever with strands of wet hair sticking to his forehead and water dripping down his perfect, angular face. I tried my best to keep my eyes on his face but my curiosity betrayed me. For a second, my gaze fell… and holy freaking mother of Heaven. The man was hung like a barnyard animal. Now I was the one feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and my symptoms had nothing to do with the scorching summer heat. DANGER! DANGER! “Okay, that's enough. I‟m going to go get you a towel,” I said. “When I come back, you have to get out of the water and get back to work.” Cade let his body sink to the bottom of the pool, but not before torturing me with another flash of his adorable dimples. I rushed back inside the house and grabbed a towel out of the linen closet. When I came back outside, I found Cade doing all sorts of fancy swimming strokes up and down the length of the pool like a freaking Olympic swimmer. He was so into it, he didn‟t even notice I was back. I was starting to get really worried. I had a next door neighbor who was always peeking her head over my fence every time she heard activity in my backyard. That woman was the biggest blabbermouth in the entire neighborhood. I was afraid she‟d make an appearance and find Cade, the new neighbor‟s kid, swimming in my pool in all his naked glory. I needed to get Cade out of the water and back in his clothes as soon as possible. “Okay, Cade. That‟s enough. You need to get out of the water now,” I whispered while waving him over with dramatic hand gestures. Cade stopped doing laps and went back to treading water while standing in the center of the pool. “But I just got in. Just a little longer, please. The water is so good.” “No,” I snapped. “You need to get out now.” “Come on, Sidney. Get in. Swim with me,” he said, pointing his chin at me. His voice sounded more sensual than ever. I‟d be lying if I said I wasn‟t tempted. Cade looked absolutely scrumptious, but I couldn‟t let my lust overrule my good judgment. “I‟m not kidding around Cade. You need to get out of the water. Now.” My tone was harsh and so was my expression. Cade let out a big, mocking sigh and began to swim towards me. The wicked expression on his face vanished and an unreadable one took its place. “Okay, okay. I‟ll get out. No need to get upset, doll.” I dropped the beach towel at the edge of the pool, took a few steps back and turned around so he could get out of the water, dry himself off and get dressed.

“Ouch,” Cade cried out. I swung around to find him still in the water and looking down at something. His face was twisting with pain. “What? What‟s wrong?” I asked. “I stepped on something. I think I‟m bleeding,” he said, bending down and looking like he was grabbing his foot. “That‟s not possible. I just had that pool cleaned three days ago.” I walked over and stood on the edge of the pool. When I felt Cade‟s hands wrapping around the back of my calves, I knew I had been had. Before I could even try to jerk away from his grip, I was airborne. The next thing I knew, I was fully submerged, struggling to keep the water out of my lungs. I flapped my arms and legs around, trying to get back to the surface. When I reemerged, I was coughing, gasping for air and water was coming out of my mouth and nose. I couldn‟t see anything in front of me because a heavy a mat of wet hair was covering my face. I swept the hair away and found Cade giggling at me from the opposite side of the pool. I wanted to kill him. “Are you out of your freaking mind?” I shrieked. I was shivering, partly from the coldness of the water and partly from the rage building inside me. I shot daggers at Cade with my eyes, but he didn‟t care. He just kept giggling at me while casually treading water. “You think this is funny?” I barked at him. “Actually, I do,” he quipped before swimming toward the shallow end where I was. The predatory look in his eyes made my stomach flip. I retreated until my back was pressed against the wall of the pool. Then I froze. I knew I should have tried to get out of the water before he got to me. But I just couldn‟t move. Suddenly he was hovering over me, his naked, wet body just inches away from mine, his lust filled eyes boring a hole in me, his slightly parted lips begging me to kiss them. So many times I had fantasized about kissing those lips, touching that body. The moment was my most forbidden fantasy coming true but it was also my worst nightmare. I kept looking around, afraid someone would see us. That‟s when Cade moved closer until his body was pressing against mine. He gripped the edge of the pool, trapping me under him while the tip of his massive erection rubbed against my belly. I wanted to step back, but there was no place for me to go. The pure, blazing lust burning behind his eyes was too much for me to bare so I dropped my gaze. “Please Cade. We can‟t do this,” I mumbled with my head still down. “Why not?” he asked before curling a finger under my chin and tilting my head up. “What are you afraid of, Sidney?” “Someone could see us. This is wrong.” “There‟s nothing wrong about this, Sidney,” he whispered, brushing strands of wet hair away from my face. He cradled my jaw with one hand while his other hand gripped the edge of the pool. “You and I are two unattached, consenting adults who are clearly very attracted to each other. There‟s nothing wrong with this. What we do here today is nobody‟s business. We‟re not hurting anyone.” “You‟re too young for me, Cade.” “You need to stop worrying about what the world thinks, Sidney and just trust your instincts.” I didn‟t get a chance to utter another word. With his head cocked to the side, Cade leaned in, claiming my lips with the softest, most tender of kisses. His cool, wet lips lingered on mine, and it was as if I was transplanted to another planet for a moment. I felt a shiver ripple through me, from the tip of my toes to the top of my head. When he pulled away, it took me a second to come back to earth. A short, labored gasp escaped my lips and I finally opened my eyes. I found

Cade studying my face as if he was waiting for me to react to the kiss. I think he expected me to get angry and slap him away. I should have gotten angry. I should have pushed him away and gotten myself out of that pool. But my mind was too fuzzy with lust and desire for the beautiful man. I just stared at him, my eyes bouncing from his eyes to his parted lips and back to his eyes. Cade leaned in and seized my lips once more. But this kiss was very different from the one we had just shared. There was nothing tender or sweet about it. He crushed my lips with such ferocity and hunger my mind was blown to pieces. The truth is I had never been kissed like that before in my life. I didn‟t even know I could evoke that type of passion in a man. Peter, the only man I had ever been with, never kissed me like that, not even close. Peter‟s kisses were often very chaste and mechanical. To him, passion meant sloppiness. But Cade… Oh my fucking God. That man knew how to use those perfect lips of his. While his tongue furiously plundered mine, his hands moved to cradle the nape of my neck. He pulled me in, making sure there wasn't a single corner of my mouth that was left unexplored. I threw my arms around his neck, moaning into his mouth while he grunted into mine. The throbbing desire building between my legs grew more and more unbearable with every swipe of his tongue against mine. I wanted him as badly as he wanted me and he knew it. His hands fell from my neck and landed on my ass, cupping and lifting it until my feet were no longer touching the bottom of the pool. I wrapped my legs around his waist while our kiss kept growing more desperate with every passing second. “Oh Cade,” I whispered when his lips moved to nibble and lick the curve of my neck. With my breath coming in shallow gasps, I buried my hands in his thick black hair, tugging at it while my body writhed against his. His frantic hands began roughing the back of my thighs and calves, settling briefly on my ass before finding the mounds of my breasts. The feel of his strong, punishing hands squeezing and stroking me over the fabric of my shirt drove the last bit of sanity out of me. I cried out his name, placing my hands over his and guiding them as they continued their assault on my humble breasts. His lips abandoned my neck and made their way back to my mouth, gasping and grunting against it until he could close his teeth around my lower lip. While he nipped and tugged at it, I could feel his erection growing harder. Every muscle in his body was stiff with anticipation and pent up need. The fact that I was turning him on that much made my own desire grow to dangerous levels. “I want you so badly, Sidney,” he breathed against my lips while unwrapping my legs from his waist. My feet hadn‟t touched the bottom of the pool yet when his hands started to fumble with the button on the front of my short. At that moment, I heard voices coming from the other side of the fence and something inside me snapped. What the hell are you doing Sidney? It finally dawned on me that I was about to have sex with a guy almost half my age, a guy I just met, in broad daylight. I had to put an end to it. Going through with it would have been wrong for so many reasons. My lust for that beautiful boy was strong, but my sense of decency and propriety was even stronger. By now, Cade had already unbuttoned and unzipped my shorts. His fingers were sliding down the front of my lace panties and were dangerously close to my throbbing pussy. I was on the verge of combusting. I knew that if his fingers touched me there, I wasn't going to be able to stop whatever came next. I had to stop him before we reached the point of no return. If I let him continue, I knew I‟d regret it forever. “I‟m sorry. I can‟t do this,” I blurted, gripping Cade‟s wrist and yanking his hand out of my underwear. My heart was beating fast, I was afraid it‟d stop. I wanted to feel him inside me

more than anything in the world. It was all I could think about ever since I first laid eyes on him. I felt bad for Cade because he wanted it to happen as badly as I did, but I couldn‟t go through with it. Without making eye contact, I used my hands to gently push him off me. Cade didn't resist. He didn't say anything either. He was probably too shocked and confused by my sudden change of mind. With my gaze still down, I zipped up my shorts, swam over to the pool steps, and climbed out. “I think you should go,” I said once I had reached the edge of the pool. My back was still toward Cade. I didn't give him a chance to object. With my wet clothes leaving a trail of pool water behind, I marched into the house to look for my purse. I found it in the living room. After grabbing a wad of cash out of it, I made my way back to the pool. Cade was already out of the water. His shorts were back on and he was drying his upper body and hair with the towel I brought out for him earlier. Without making eye contact, I tried to hand Cade the money. “Here. This is for the deck work." Cade stared at my clenched fist without taking the crumpled bills. “But I haven't finished the job yet.” “I‟ll hire someone else to finish the work. Please take the money and leave. I need you to leave now. Please.” I finally made eye contact with him and my heart broke. There was so much hurt and confusion behind those baby blues, I felt like the absolute worst person on the planet for not being able to control my urges. I was the grown up, not him. I shouldn't have let things get as far as they did. Cade didn't deserve to be humiliated like that. Cade just stood there, motionless, speechless. His gaze flickered to the money in my hands for a second before returning to my face. His lips curled as if he was going to say something but no words ever came out. Instead, he grabbed the money out of my closed fist, picked up his sneakers off the ground and slowly made his way back to the deck. I could hear him gathering his tools but didn't turn around until I heard the kitchen door open and close. That's when I knew he was gone. I let out a sharp breath and went back to the house to change into dry clothes. I was furious with myself for being so reckless and promised myself it would never happen again. From then on, I was going to avoid Cade Fisher at all costs. If something around the house needed fixing, I was going to hire someone else. The moment Cade and I shared in the pool was incredible, better than any fantasy I ever had about him, but it was wrong and should never happen again. My reputation was very important to me, and so was my job. I was a high school teacher at a private, religious school. If anyone at the school or the parents of any of my students found out I was fooling around with someone young enough to be one of my students, it wouldn't have ended well for me. I knew of a teacher there who had an affair with one of her former students. He was of legal age and their age gap was a lot narrower than mine and Cade‟s. But none of that mattered. She was shamed and fired when some of the parents complained. I couldn‟t let that happen to me no matter how gorgeous Cade was or how badly I wanted him in my pants.

CHAPTER V Later that same day, I found myself on a date with Kevin Reese, the guy my friend Gloria had set me up with. Fifteen minutes into the date, I knew I shouldn't have agreed to it. It was, without a doubt, one of the most boring dates I had ever been to. The guy was not a creep like some of my previous blind dates and I was thankful for that. Unfortunately, Kevin was, like I had suspected, very dull. He talked about his insurance job like it was the most exciting thing in the world. Just when I thought the conversation couldn't get any more boring, he switched to talking about his bowling league. I pretended to listen. I smiled and nodded politely at his lame anecdotes, but in my head, I was counting the seconds until I could get the hell out of there. Boring conversation aside, Kevin seemed like a very decent, honest guy and wasn‟t hard to look at. His dirty blond curly hair looked good on him and so did the full beard he was sporting. His eyes were an interesting shade of blue. They didn‟t make me want to go swimming in them the way Cade‟s did but they were pretty and so was his dimple- free smile. That being said, I didn't see a second date in our future. While Kevin spoke enthusiastically about his high bowling score, all I could think about was Cade. I kept replaying the pool encounter in my head. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't erase the memory of his heavy, calloused hands roaming all over my body. My skin was still burning from the feel of his lips branding every inch of it. I also kept picturing the hurt, confused look on his face afterward when I humiliated him and threw him out of my house. I was always going to hate myself for that. However, I still believed putting a stop to that affair before it started was the right thing to do. "Hey! Easy there," Kevin quipped when he saw me gulp down my second glass of chardonnay of the night. "Save some room for the food." He was right. I was drinking too much. We hadn't even had our entrees yet. But the conversation was so boring, I had to dull my senses out with alcohol to make the evening more bearable. I forced a smile and fought the urge to look at the time on my phone again. Kevin looked nervous and I think he sensed I was not enjoying myself. “You know... I‟m so glad you finally accepted to go out with me." "You are?" "Yes. I was dying to meet you. Gloria has been saying so many great things about you, I was starting to wonder if you were real." “So...did I live up to the hype?” “Yes," he replied enthusiastically. "But I must say, Gloria actually undersold you. You‟re a lot more beautiful than she described.” “Thank you,” I mouthed. "I just wish you were having a better time." I felt bad for Kevin. He was trying. He was making an effort. The least I could do was make an effort too. Perhaps Kevin was the guy I needed to be obsessing about instead of Cade. Kevin was age appropriate, had a good job, and seemed like an all-around good guy. So what if I didn't feel butterflies in my stomach? Maybe those would come later. Maybe not everyone was

meant to feel the whole butterfly in the stomach thing. Maybe I was one of those people. "I'm having a good time. I'm sorry if it looks like I'm not. I'm just a little distracted about work." "Are you sure?" I nodded and changed the subject. "Gloria tells me you have a son..." "Yes. His name's Charlie." Kevin pulled his phone out of a pocket on his jacket and showed me a picture of the adorable toddler. Once he started talking about the boy, he wouldn't shut up. I thought that was cute. We also talked about our exes and the challenges of being newly divorced. He, too, was having a hard time getting back on the dating scene after his divorce. We bonded over that. As the night went on, I felt at ease and even found Kevin's geeky-ness sort of endearing. In the end, the evening did not turn out to be a total disaster. After dinner, Kevin drove me home. We decided to skip the movie because I had a lot of papers to grade that night. He walked me to my door and I was grateful he didnâ€&#x;t attempt to kiss me. I was starting to like him, but I wasn't ready to kiss him ye t. I did agree to go on another date with him. I figured heâ€&#x;d continue to grow on me and I needed someone to help me get my mind off Cade Fisher.

CHAPTER VI After saying goodbye to Kevin, I took a nice, long, relaxing shower and slipped into a pair of pink pajama shorts and a white tank top. I dried my wet hair with a towel and threw a short silk robe over the shorts and tank top ensemble before making my way to the kitchen. There, I made myself a cup of green tea and opened a box of cookies. I was dead tired from not being able to sleep well the night before, but I couldn't go to bed just yet. I had too much work to do. An hour or so later, I was still sitting at the dining room table, drinking tea, munching on oatmeal cookies, and reading through history papers. I still had two or three papers to grade when the doorbell rang. I craned my neck to gaze at the wall clock behind me. It was a quarter after eleven. Thinking that it might be a neighbor in need, I rushed to open the door. My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I pressed my eye to the peephole and found Cade standing on my porch. With his hands stuck in his jeans‟ front pockets, he stared at the ground while shuffling his feet. I thought about not opening the door. I figured he'd go away if I stayed really quiet. But then I realized he probably knew I was home because all the lights in the house were on. Damn it. I started pacing back and forth in front of the door, not knowing what to do. Cade wouldn't leave. He kept ringing the bell non-stop. After a while, he switched to knocking, loudly and repeatedly. Afraid that one of my nosy neighbors would see him on my porch in the middle of the night, I decided to open the door. “What are you doing here, Cade?” I whispered, stepping out onto the porch. My eyes flickered back and forth between his face and the dark street behind him. After making sure no one was watching us, I focused my attention on the beautiful man-boy. “I need to talk to you,” he said, the somber look on his face matching the even tone in his voice. I couldn't help but notice that he looked extra yummy that night. His thick, dark hair was no longer falling on his forehead. It had been loosely spiked up and looked extra shiny and very stylish. He was wearing a tight, black t-shirt and a pair of loose jeans that were snug enough in the right places. He looked gorgeous. I wanted to do things to that boy, things I had never dared do to a man, things I had only heard or read about. But he was still forbidden fruit standing on my porch in the middle of the night. I needed to get rid of him before people saw us and started spreading rumors. “We have nothing to talk about,” I said, my tone cold, unwavering. “It‟s late. You should go home.” “It'll just take a second. Please.” I let out a sharp breath. It was clear he wasn‟t going to leave until I let him talk. So I stepped aside and motioned with my head for him to come inside. He smelled as good as he looked. A delicious mixture of cologne and sweat wafted through the air as he stepped around me to get inside the house. He looked so tall, so imposing strolling through my living room, it was easy to forget he was just a nineteen- year-old kid. “You better make this quick. I need to get back to work,” I said after shutting the door. I stood in front of it, facing Cade. With my arms folded over my chest, I stared at my feet. I

couldn't look him in the eye. I kept picturing him naked in my pool, kissing me, touching me, making me feel things I had never felt before. I was getting wet just by listening to the sound of his goddamned voice. I was afraid he‟d see how badly I wanted him if I let him see my eyes. “I just wanted to apologize for my behavior this morning,” he breathed. I snapped my head up and my gaze met his. My mouth hung open. That was not what I was expecting him to say. “It was wrong of me to kiss you and touch you the way I did. I‟m sorry. I‟d also like to come back and finish the work I was hired to do.” I drew in a deep breath. “Thank you for apologizing, Cade. But I don‟t think you working for me is a good idea. I will hire someone else to finish the job.” Cade closed the distance between us while grabbing something out of the back pocket of his jeans. “Well, in that case, I have to give you your money back.” He pulled several bills out of his wallet and handed them to me. I shook my head while staring at his hand. My arms stayed folded in front of me. “No. It‟s okay. Keep the money.” “I can‟t keep this money. I didn‟t earn it. Please take it back. If you‟re not going to let me finish the job, at least take the money back.” I let out another heavy breath. He was a stubborn one that Cade. I reached out and grabbed the money out of his hands. I figured he wasn‟t going to leave me alone until I did. “Thank you,” I mouthed before stepping to the other side of the room to set the money on a coffee table. When I turned my gaze back to Cade, I found him staring intently at me. It was as if he was trying to read my thoughts. His once vibrant, sparkling blue eyes were now clouded with frustration and pain. I felt awful for him, but I believed I was doing the right thing by keeping him away from me. Getting involved with him would‟ve been a huge mistake. Huge. Cade drew in a deep breath and shoved the wallet back in his pocket. “Well, that‟s all I came here for. I won‟t bother you anymore, Sidney.” He gave me one final questioning look before spinning on his heel and heading for the front door. While staring at the back of his head, I felt overcome with sadness. I knew that once he walked out of that door, I was never going to see him again. But something happened. Something made him freeze when he reached the door. He gripped the handle but wouldn't turn it. He just stood there, staring at his feet for a few long seconds before jerking his body aro und toward me. “You know what, Sidney? I lied. I‟m not sorry I kissed you this morning in the pool.” He took a couple of long steps and suddenly he was hovering over me. I gulped down a breath, too startled to move or speak. He had his hands in fists and I wasn't sure if he was about to shake me or kiss me. The volume and the harshness in his voice went up another notch. “I enjoyed the crap out of that kiss and I know you enjoyed it too. And if I had to do it all over again, I would.” “Please. Lower your voice, Cade,” I whispered. “No, Sidney. I will not lower my voice. I will not keep it down," he snapped, gripping my shoulders and drawing me into his body. I could smell a faint trace of alcohol on his breath. His lips were now dangerously close to mine. "That‟s all I‟ve been doing since the day I met you. I'm tired of keeping it down. I'm sick of pretending I don't have these feelings for you. I‟m done pretending and I don't give a damn what people think or say.” His hands slid down my arms and moved to circle my waist. "I haven‟t been able to get you out of my head since the day I met you. I walk up and down the block several times a day trying to get a glimpse of you going to work or picking up your mail. I know that sounds a little

stalkerish but I can't help it. You have gotten under my skin, Sidney. I can't get over you. I don't want to get over you. I thought you were married. That's the only reason I kept my feelings to myself and chose to admire you from afar. But now that I know you don't belong to a nyone, there's no way I'm letting anyone or anything keep me away from you." One of his hands traveled up to brush strands of hair off my face. His other hand stayed on my waist. “I lay awake at night thinking about touching you, kissing you, wondering wha t it‟d feel like to make love to you. I get hard just picturing you in those hot yoga pants you were wearing the day we met. I‟ve jerked myself raw just imagining how tight your pussy would feel around my cock. I‟ve never wanted a woman as badly as I want you, Sidney MacDougal.” He didn‟t need to tell me how badly he wanted me. I could feel his hard as a rock, throbbing cock pushing against my belly. “Please Cade,” I whispered. “Stop saying those things. You have to stop thinking about me that way.” “Why?” he asked, pulling back and dropping his arms to his sides. His voice was now softer but still full of angst. “Why Sidney?” I lowered my voice even more. “You know why. You‟re too young for me.” Cade groaned, backing away from me and throwing his hands in the air. “Who gives a shit about how old I am or how old you are?” “I do. And you do too. You just don‟t realize it yet.” Cade placed his hands on his hips and cocked his head to the side. “And who made you an expert on what I care or don‟t care about?” “You don‟t want me, Cade. What you‟re feeling for me will pass. You need to go find girls your own age. Girls you have things in common with. Once you do, you‟ll forget all about me.” Cade shook his head slowly. A bitter laugh fell from his lip as he scratched his forehead. “You think I‟m just some stupid kid who‟s trying to score with the hot neighbor lady, don‟t you? You think I‟m trying to nail you so I can go brag about it to my friends. Is that it?” “Well... Why else would a guy like you be interested in someone like me?” Cade chuckled and shook his head. "Someone like you? You make it sound like you're some sort of hideous creature locked up in an attic somewhere." Like a lion in the jungle that had just spotted its lunch, Cade sauntered back toward me. Anger no longer clouded his beautiful eyes and a lustful, lopsided grin curled his lips. I retreated but he kept coming. My heart skipped a bit. The last time he came at me like that, we almost ended up fucking each other senseless in the pool. I was able to fight temptation then. I didn't think I could do it a second time. I kept backing away but soon I found myself trapped between a hard wall and his imposing, testosterone- fueled body hovering over me. “You think you have me all figured out, don‟t you? Yo u know nothing about me, Sidney. But I‟m going to make sure you learn a few things about me tonight.” Those words, and the flames of desire burning behind his half- hooded eyes, sent a cold sweat down my spine. I opened my mouth to make another argument aga inst what we were doing, but Cade didn‟t let me utter a single word. He cupped both sides of my face and crushed my lips with his, drowning out what little was left of my self- control. His hands moved from my face to lay flat on the wall while his restless, talented tongue continued to plunder mine. All my senses were compromised from the sheer passion of that kiss. It was just as raw, frantic, and hungry as the kiss we shared in the pool earlier, but this time I did not have the soundness of mind or the willpower to push him away. It was game over for me.

“Tell me, Sidney. Did that feel like the kiss of some stupid boy with a crush?” he asked after pulling back. I let out a sharp breath while the heat of that kiss continued to burn my lips. Too overwhelmed to speak or even open my eyes, I shook my head while holding on to the wall behind me. My heart went on another sprint when his hands moved to undo the ties of my robe. He tugged at them and I let go of the wall, just in time for the robe to slide down my shoulders and pool at my feet. My heart was beating so fast I was certain Cade could hear it. My entire body shivered in anticipation of what he‟d do next. “Spread your legs, Sidney,” Cade breathed against my lips, his voice low, raspy, and incredibly sexy. I did as commanded without objection or delay. I was his to do with as he pleased that night. There was no point in pretending otherwise. With my eyes closed, I listened to his labored breathing and the sound of my own heart slamming in my chest. I could feel his eyes roaming all over my body but I kept mine shut. "Open your eyes, Sidney," he demanded after a while. I did, slowly, and found his gaze boring into me. The fire burning behind his glassy blue eyes was both exhilarating and a little terrifying. A sly grin curled his lips. Something told me I was in for the night of my life. Breathe. Cade kept one hand on the wall while the other crawled under the front of my shorts and panties. We both let out sharp gasps against each other‟s mouths when his impatient fingers speared into my sensitive, throbbing flesh. I cried out, both from the pain of Cade‟s teeth closing around my lower lip and the roughness of his long fingers sinking into me. “What about this, Sidney? Does this feel like the touch of a stupid kid who doesn‟t know what he‟s doing?” We kept gasping and moaning against each other‟s mouths, biting each other‟s lips as Cade curled his fingers deeper and deeper inside me, soaking them with my arousal. “Jesus, you‟re so fucking wet already,” he growled. Cade dragged his lips from my lips to my ear and whispered in a slow, sexy drawl. “I‟m going to make love to you tonight, Sidney MacDougal. Scratch that. I‟m going to fuck you like I know you‟ve never been fucked before. I‟m going to rip those little shorts off you and you‟re going to scream my name so loud, people are going to think you‟re being murdered. When I‟m done with you, you won‟t even remember your own name. I‟m going to make sure of it.” How my heart was still beating inside my chest after that, I‟ll never know. His lips wasted no time, slamming against mine and turning my brain to mush. While our lips collided into another furious, desperate kiss, his palms wrapped around my ass and effortlessly lifted me clear off the ground. I snaked my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. Without breaking our kiss for a single second, we began to move, racing up the stairs without stumbling or tripping. When my feet touched the floor again, we were in my bedroom. I wanted him inside me so badly. I had never felt that kind of desire before, not with Peter, not with anyone else. The throbbing between my legs was overwhelming, borderline painful. I was drunk with lust, whimpering inside Cade's mouth, sucking his tongue, biting his lip. Sweat was already running down my spine. With trembling hands, I reached for the hem of his t-shirt and awkwardly pulled it over his head. After tossing it on the floor, I reached for his belt buckle. I started fumbling with it, but Cade had other ideas in mind. I let out a small shriek when he flipped me around and pressed my back against his front. His rough, punishing hands wasted no time crawling underneath the front of my tank top to cup and squeeze my bare breasts. “Oh my God, Cade,” I cried out. His hands were merciless, squeezing, pulling and pinching my poor nipples so hard, I thought he was going to rip them off me. They stopped briefly to get my tank top out of the way. After flinging it over my head and hurling it across the

room, they resumed their ruthless assault. I reached behind Cade to grab a handful of his hair as a tsunami of sensations rippled through my body. It was all too much: his hands furiously stroking my breasts, his teeth nibbling the bottom of my ear, his hot breath on my neck, his pulsating cock pushing against my spine. With the back of my head resting on his shoulder and my fingers tugging at his luscious hair, I found his lips and we shared another devastating kiss. While our tongues wrestled each other, we staggered towards the foot of the bed and crashed on top of the mattress. I ended up lying flat on my stomach and Cade carefully settled on top of me. His hand brushed damp strands of hair away so his lips could nibble on my earlobe and the nape of my neck. Between giggles and moans, I smiled wide, reveling in the feel of his soft, cool lips rolling down my spine and leaving a trail of butterfly kisses in their path. “You‟re so fucking beautiful, Sidney. Your skin is so soft. I think I may be developing an addiction to it,” he said between kisses. The smile on my face disappeared when Cade curled two fingers under the waistband of my pajama shorts and began to slide them down my hips. Fear and insecurity began to invade my thoughts. Would I be able to satisfy a man like Cade who, in spite of his young age, seemed to know what he was doing in the bedroom? He was making me feel things I had never felt with Peter. Ever. Was I going to be able to do the same for him? Soon, both my pajama shorts and my panties were off me. Cade crawled up until his whole body was lying flat on top of mine once again. I held my breath and my whole body stiffened. “Relax, Sidney. I‟m going to take good care of you tonight,” he cooed against my cheek before kissing it and crawling back down. The tender kisses he was laying down the length of my spine helped my muscles ease up, but not for long. When his lips reached my ass, the kisses stopped and his teeth sank into one of my globes. He bit hard, hard enough to draw a loud gasp out of me and make my body tense up again. “Did you like that, Sidney? Do you like it when I bite your ass?” he asked, tracing the length of my ass crack with the pad of his index finger. His teeth continued to brand me with delicious love marks all over my backside. After the initial shock wore off, I was surprised to find out that I did, in fact, love his little love bites. “Uh huh,” I replied, a little embarrassed. Cade chuckled. “I‟m glad you do because I love your ass and plan to bite the crap out of it. I‟ve been obsessed with this booty ever since I first laid eyes on it.” He continued to run his finger up and down my crack. “Have you ever been fucked here, Sidney?” he asked, sinking the tip of his index finger inside my asshole. “No,” I whispered with a grunt. My body tightened even more and heat began creeping up my face. I felt like the most inexperienced, inadequate thirty-two-year-old in the world. I had never had anything go up that entrance before. Not by choice, though. Peter was the only man I had ever been with and he was not a very adventurous man in the sack, at least not with me. Over the fourteen years that he and I were together, the missionary was the only sex position he ever tried with me. Cade chuckled. “I didn‟t think so." He continued to sink his finger deeper ins ide my tiny hole. "We‟ll be changing that tonight, doll. An ass like this was made to be fucked. But first things first…” Cade crawled up me once more and leaned in to speak against my ear. “Right now, I want you to get on your knees, spread your legs apart, and hold on to the headboard. Can you do that for me, gorgeous?”

I nodded and did as commanded. Cade knelt behind me. His hands roamed all over my body, cupping my breasts, tracing the length of my spine and caressing my inner thighs before settling on my ass. I stared at the wall, shaking with anticipation. “Jesus, Sidney. Look at you. You‟re fucking perfect, every inch of you,” he said before taking his hands off my body. I felt the mattress move behind me. I shut my eyes, clueless as to what he was go ing to do to me next. I felt a tickling sensation along my inner thigh, followed by a burst of hot air against my delicate flesh. And before my brain could figure out what he was up to, his lips were on me. Oh my God, is he really doing that? Peter never k issed me there no matter how many hints I threw at him. But any thought I had about Peter quickly vanished when Cade pressed his mouth against my folds, breathing hot air into them and making my whole body shiver from the mind blowing sensation. Soon his tongue was relentlessly spearing into me. “Oh my God, Cade! What are you doing to me?” I screamed while rolling my hips against his face. He had to grip my thighs to keep me from crushing his head. I squeezed my eyes shut and got lost in the shockwaves of pleasure rocking my body. I buried a hand in my hair and continued to ride his lips. I didn‟t think my night could possibly get any better until Cade‟s lips found my clit. He closed them around my swollen nub, flicking it, sucking it, swirling it, pushing a gainst it. I never curse. It‟s just not my thing. But the things Cade was doing to my pussy were so astounding, the expletives just kept flying out of my mouth along with words of encouragement and appreciation. My orgasm kept growing faster, stronger. Years of pent up sexual frustration were about to come to a dramatic end and I wasn‟t sure if I was going to survive it. Then it happened. Every muscle in my body clenched, a single drop of sweat rolled down my spine and I came undone, fast and hard, all over Cade‟s pretty little mouth. I screamed his name and it all went dark for me for a second. Cade kept swirling his tongue up and around my folds, taking in and savoring every drop of my juices while I rested my head on the edge of the headboard and let the shockwaves of pleasure wash over me. Even though I was clearly spent, Cade wouldn‟t relent. He kept teasing my still engorged numb with his tongue while two of his fingers sank inside me. The explosions inside me began again, faster and more devastating than before. I white-knuckled the headboard with the little strength I had left and just came and came. I was in a daze, exhausted. “Please stop, Cade. I can‟t take it anymore.” Cade took pity on me and slipped from under me. I kept my head down, panting, gasping, trying to regain my strength. I felt Cade get off the bed and stand to the side of it. I turned my head and found him gazing at me from under hooded eyes, flames of desire burning behind his baby blues. The evidence of my pleasure was still glistening on and around his mouth. I never wanted him more than I did at that moment. My eyes drifted down to his hands and I noticed his belt was gone. He had already unzipped his jeans and was about to push them down his hips. “Stop,” I blurted before crawling towards him and kneeling on the edge of the bed. “Let me do it.” Cade‟s face broke into a slow, wicked grin as his eyes bore into mine. His hands dropped to his sides and he stepped closer until he was within my reach. My gaze drifted down to the cut muscles on his chest. He was the epitome of male perfection. The collection of perfectly tanned, hairless muscles would have made any Greek god green with envy. I reached out and let my finger trace every single cord and ridge on his taut pecs and perfect abs. I studied the intricate tattoo that wrapped around his left arm and shoulder.

It was simply stunning. I had never seen anything like it. I wanted to ask him about it, but the time for words had passed. All I cared about was the gifts hiding inside his jeans. My fingers continued to travel south to trace the “V” that disappeared beneath the white cotton of his briefs. I wet my lips and shot Cade a quick, nervous look before tugging at his jeans until they were pooling around his ankles. He stepped out of the m after sending his shoes flying across the room. My breath caught at the sight of what looked like an African Python nesting behind the white fabric of his boxer briefs. That thing felt pretty big when it was pressed against me before but what I had in front of me was just ridiculous. I gulped down a breath. Suddenly, I wasn‟t sure I could handle all of him inside me. I shot Cade another look. He tried to stifle a chuckle when he saw my eyes bugging out. He had this cocky expression on his face. He knew he was huge and was proud of it. I was afraid to keep going but figured I had gone too far to back down. So I took a deep breath, curled two fingers inside the waistband of his boxer briefs, and began pushing his Calvin Klein‟s down his narrow hips. A delicious shiver rocked my body when his cock popped free in front of my eyes. It was as gorgeous as it was huge. It bobbed in front of my face in all its pink, thick glory and was already leaking precum. “I want to taste you,” I breathed, running my tongue over my lower lip and without taking my eyes off of the magnificent shaft. The words shocked me as they fell out of my mouth. I had never been so forward and shameless. But it felt good saying those words out loud. “Go ahead. Taste all you want," he said stepping out of his briefs. "You don‟t have to ask my permission, doll. I‟m yours to do with as you please.” For a second, I hesitated. Fear and self-doubt reared their ugly head. Cade noticed. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" he asked. “I…I have never tasted a man before,” I replied, embarrassment and self-consciousness making it difficult for me to hold his gaze. “I‟m afraid I won‟t do it right.” Cade curled a finger under my chin and lifted my face up. “Listen to me, gorgeous. That‟s nothing to be ashamed of. There‟s nothing I want more in this world than to have those juicy little lips of yours wrapped around my cock. Don‟t worry about me not liking it. I know I‟ll love it. But I won‟t pressure you into doing anything you‟re not ready or comfortable doing. I‟d never force you to do anything you don‟t want to do.” “No. I want to do it,” I replied. There‟s no way I was backing down. I closed the pads of my fingers around the dripping tip, reveling in its texture, its slickness, its smell. Slowly, my whole palm made its way to his shaft. I began to slowly stroke its length, eliciting a loud, guttural groan from Cade. “Oh yeah. That‟s good, babe. That‟s really good,” he blurted, rolling his hips and throwing his head back. I kept stroking him, mesmerized by the look on his face and the sight of his ab muscles clenching and relaxing with every labored breath he took. The fact that I was bringing him that much pleasure with just my hand gave a huge boost to my confidence. It was time for me to get a little taste. With my palm gripping the base of his shaft, I swirled the tip of my tongue against the tip. I licked my lips, surprised by how much I enjoyed the salty taste of his precum. I shoved more of his shaft into my mouth, but he was so large and thick, I could barely ge t half of it inside. But that didn‟t seem to matter to Cade who kept groaning and moaning and telling me to keep going. I started stroking him a little bit faster and pushing his length a little bit deeper inside my mouth. I was getting the hang of it when suddenly Cade gripped my shoulders and pulled himself away.

“Stop. Just stop.” I looked up at him, confused, embarrassed, hurt. “Why? What is it? Was I doing it wrong? You didn‟t like it?” Cade lunged at me until we were both lying flat on the bed, naked body against naked body. “I loved it. I loved every second of it. You're really good at that. Believe me.” “Then why did you make me stop?” Cade claimed my lips into a brief but memorable kiss and then pulled away. “I made you stop because I was very close to coming. I need to be inside you when I come for the first time. That‟s why I made you stop, doll.” He stole another yummy kiss from me before jumping off the bed. It looked like he was searching for something on the floor. When he came back to the bed he was holding what looked like a wrapped condom between his teeth. He laid on top of me, rubbing the edge of the plastic wrapper against my lips so I would take the condom from him with my teeth. As soon as I did, he rolled over, taking me with him until I was the one on top. I sat up, straddling him around his stomach. “Are you clean?” I asked, after spitting the condom on the bed. Cade nodded. “Are you?” I nodded. “And I can‟t get pregnant.” I leaned down and kissed him. “I want you to make love to me without a condom,” I said after pulling back. “Are you sure?” Cade asked. I nodded emphatically and without blinking. I wanted to feel him, all of him and there was zero chance I was going to get pregnant. So why not? “As you wish, Ms. MacDougal,” he grinned. I straddled him again and his hands began to wander all over my ass, legs and breasts. I leaned forward, sticking my butt up in the air and placing a kiss on his soft, wet lips. Cade reached behind me to grab his cock. A long, forceful grown rumbled inside him as the tip of his wet cock rubbed against my slick folds. “I want you inside me, Cade. Now. Please,” I breathed, drunk with desire, not afraid to beg. I sat back down and carefully glided myself down his length. I cried out, the pain and the fullness making me choke on my own breath. “Oh my God. You‟re so big, too big,” I blurted with his cock halfway inside me. “Do you want to stop?” he asked. “I don‟t want to hurt you.” “No,” I barked. The only thing worse than the pain I was feeling was the idea o f not having him, all of him, inside me. I didn‟t go that far just to chicken out half way through the deed. I was determined to fuck Cade Fisher that night no matter what. Little by little I grew more and more comfortable to his thickness and length and soon the excruciating pain turned into mind blowing pleasure. I had all of him inside me, and it was everything I thought it would be and then some. “God, Sidney. You feel so good, so tight,” Cade growled, his hands on my hips, guiding them as they slowly began to grind on him. Soon I was riding him, screaming his name, digging my nails in his chest, threatening him with violence if he dared to pull out and leave me hanging. Then I sped up the pace of my thrusts. I grinded into him and he dug his nails on my ass. Our movements, groans, and moans were all in sync. I felt as if I was going to explode from the inside out and really didn‟t care if I did. I had never felt more alive than I did that night. Cade sat up, slamming his lips against mine, biting them and holding them between his teeth. I wrapped my arms around his neck and continued to grind against him, taking in every inch of his glorious cock. I pulled back and swept the hair stuck to his damp forehead away. I wanted to watch his face. I wanted to see if he was reaching the same levels of ecstasy he was

bringing me to. He was. Our eyes locked with enough fire between them to set an entire forest ablaze. We went fast, but when we thought we were losing control, we slowed down and then sped up again. We held on to each other tight to keep our sweat-coated bodies from floating away. I was so close. I looked deep into Cade‟s sleepy eyes and could see he was very close too. He began to slam my hips harder and faster against his cock, overwhelming my senses w ith the fullness. The explosions began inside me, starting at my belly and spreading all over my body. I dug my nails in his back. My inner muscles clenched around him while he sank his teeth on my shoulder and growled my name over and over. I cried out, finding my release and soaking Cade‟s cock with it. Within seconds, Cade was there with me, every muscle of his body clenching in anticipation of the explosion that was about to rock his body. With a loud grunt, he found his own release and filled me up with his hot, creamy seed. I held on tight to him while his whole body shivered under me. Exhausted and coated in sweat, we fell back on the bed. His cock was still inside me and his seed was spilling out from between my thighs. We cradled each other‟s faces, smiling and giggling euphorically. We shared another awkward, perfect kiss. "That was amazing. You are a sex god, Cade Fisher,” I slurred after I managed to free my lips from the grip of his teeth. Cade grinned and shook his head. “No, Sidney. You are a sex goddess. That was all you. You were in charge there. And to think you were worried about not being good enough, not pleasing me…You were unbelievable, babe.” I giggled and buried my face on his chest. I was proud of myself. “I don‟t want this night to end,” I said, wrapping my arms around him. Cade lifted my face and cradled it between his hands. “This night is far from over. I‟m just getting started with you. What we did just now was only the dress rehearsal, the warm up. I haven‟t even begun to rock your world yet, sweetheart.” My eyes bugged out of my head. I was so sore all over. I didn‟t know how much more of his love I could take in a single night. Cade chuckled at my reaction. “Don‟t worry, doll. I‟ll give you a few minutes to catch your breath before we begin round two.” He cradled the back of my head and pushed it down to his chest. “Right now, I just want you to lie here with me. Let me hold you. Let me feel you. Let me take all of you in.” I squeezed my eyes shut and let my body sink into his. I was beginning to think I was imagining him. Not only was he a gorgeous sex god, he was also sweet and caring and put my needs and feelings before his own…and he was only nineteen years old. It just didn‟t make sense. And why me? Why would a guy that perfect want a thirty-two- year-old divorcee like me when he could have had any women he wanted? He was just too good to be true. But I didn‟t want to think about that. He and I didn‟t have a future anyway so why try to make sense of it all? I pushed those thoughts out of my head and just lied there, reveling in the aftermath of our lovemaking. I was drifting away in a sea of post coital bliss, almost falling asleep when a loud bang on my front door made me jump out of my skin. BANG. BANG. BANG. Whoever it was po unding on my door was angry, deranged, or both. Then I heard a familiar voice and my heart skipped several beats. I jumped off Cade and knelt on the bed with a hand over my mouth. “Open the goddamned door, Sidney. I know you‟re in there,” The voice yelled, loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear it. “Who the hell is that?” Cade asked, sitting up, his brow crinkling with worry. “My ex and he‟s drunk.”
