small business project We started a business with 5 students and divided the tasks. We created a chicken coop that is modular, easy to build, durable and as cheap as possible. This project includes a business model, market analysis, finance and branding research. The company would reach breakeven in one year.
The first product of Chick’in, Chick’in Modular is a chicken coop that makes it possible for people to have chickens in urban environments. We did some research and a survey about the branding and marketing of our company to make the right choices for our product.
the finances
the final prototype
The financial model for our company abled us to simulate the break even point. Every price or quantity used in this model has been researched to be as real as possible. Three simulation were made : realistic - optimistic - pessimistic.
The final prototype was made with plywood. We used a manual CNC-milling tool to create the several parts of the modules. We tested our final prototype with a chicken to be sure it will go inside.

material design Designing a new folding bike using composite materials. Our focus was the mobility of the bike once it had been folded away, Since in most of our rivals had verry limited mobility when folded. Our bike only needs one action to fold or unfold. Once folded, it remains higher giving the user easier acces while walking or taking the train.

We designed a tent who ables people to have a cosy place to chat together while watching the performances
constructive design We had to create a new tent concept for festivals. It was a team assignment and our goal was to create a tent to relax while enjoying the music and view. To access the platform, people will have to climb the wall so people won’t be able to access it with drinks. Our final prototype had to be made on a scale 1:3.
We calculated the torsion, flexion needed tube diameter,... All those parameters helped design the tent.
connection part
Several prototypes before te final look
were made was chosen.
A final 3D model was made after all the research was done: technical - visual - connection
The connection was our biggest challenge because of the several angels made with the tubes.
The final prototype was made with the conncetion we designed. The rooftop willl have a cosy atmosphere

mechatronic design This project was in collaboration with Novy. They wanted a new and futuristic hood. We integrated a projector in the hood to project information on the hot plate. This will enable you to have an unblemished hot plate all black or white when not in use. With this project we combined conceptual designing and programming.

cocreation Creating a dogfeeding system for an assistance dog. We made it so that the owner would only need to give one command to the dog to allow him to have his daily meal. The product can be easily made by any person as it consists of standard parts available in any hardware store. The remaining parts can be made by visiting a makers lab.

innovation For this project we recieved a material who consist of two different components. By mixing those comonents the material will have hardened after several minutes. We had to design a coffee filter using this material and a way to produce it. My solution is made with very simple products, who can be easily found.

reverse engineer Assemblies makes it possible to work with different people from the bottom up. Once we understood how the trimmer was build we recreated a 3D model. We then started by giving it the right dimensions and determining the right tolerances for those dimensions.
