Noon on Saturday, June 22nd, we will be joined by Mayor Dianne Watts: Surrey Councilors; Mr. Frank Butzelaar, President of SRY Raillink; Mr. Steven Higginbottom, Public Affairs Coordinator BC Hydro; MLA Stephanie Cadieux and many others to officially open the Replica Cloverdale Station and inaugurate operations of the Heritage Rail Demonstration Project with Car 1225.
As this is a special event, we will not have our planned regular schedule this day. After the platform party opens the line they will have a ceremonial run to Sullivan and return. Upon their return, we will have cake and refreshments at the station after which we will be offering free rides along the spur, for those in attendance.
Come for a ride on our first full day of operations, running from Cloverdale Station to Sullivan and return. The Station will open at 9:30am with the first train departing at 10:00am, on the hour until the last train at 3:00pm. 1-4 pm meet many historical characters from Surrey’s past. The Surrey Heritage Re-enactors will
represent Reeve T.J. Sullivan, Doctor Fredrick Sinclair - Medical Health Officer, Mr. Eric Anderson - carpenter and pioneer settler, teacher Miss Mary Jane Shannon and Zennosuke Inouye - WW I veteran and President of the Surrey Berry Growers Association.
