1 17 DAY DEPARTURE
Day 1 Depart New York (JFK). Days 2-3 Cross the International Date Line (regain this day on your return) and arrive in Shanghai, China’s largest city. Sightseeing includes visits to Shanghai’s famous waterfront Bund area to see the many stately buildings of European architecture, beautiful Yu Yuan Garden with its many halls and pavilions, and the Jade Buddha Temple, famous for it’s image of Buddha in white Burmese jade. Special departure featuring the cities of Kaifeng and Luoyang. Following your stay in Beijing, fly to Zhengzhou for a two-night stay. Enjoy a full day excursion to Kaifeng, an ancient capital of China on several occasions and home to the ancient Chinese-Jewish community, unknown to the world until the 17th century. Sightseeing includes visits to the ancient Synagogue erected in 1163 AD, nearby Jewish Quarter and ancient Jewish cemetery. Continue by road to Luoyang for an overnight stay and to tour the fascinating Long Men Caves; dating back to 494 AD with 1,300 caves containing over 100,000 images of Buddha. Proceed to Xi’an the next day by train. Three meals per day, plus a special dinner banquet in Kaifeng are included.

Days 4-6 Fly to Beijing, capital city of China. Beijing is China’s cultural and political center, as well as home to many fascinating sights located in or near the city. No visit would be complete without an excursion to see the magnificent Great Wall, truly one of the greatest feats of human engineering. Sightseeing highlights also include the Ming Tombs and the incomparable Forbidden City, architecturally stunning and housing many great treasures; the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and enormous Tian’anmen Square. Days 7-8 Fly to Xi’an, ancient capital of China for eleven dynasties and starting point of the famed Silk Road. It is here you will see the amazing underground tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang; guarded by more than 7,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses, the tomb is one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures. Days 9-10 Fly to scenic Guilin. The tranquil beauty and spectacular karst mountain landscape of Guilin has served to inspire painters and poets throughout the ages. Sightseeing includes a cruise on the fabled Li River, where village life unfolds along the banks as you travel past the magnificent limestone formations jutting up from the green plain. Days 11-13 Fly to scenic Guangzhou (Canton) and continue by catamaran to Hong Kong, the glamorous port city filled with luxurious hotels, fabulous shopping and exquisite dining. Your sightseeing tour includes Victoria Peak, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen Fishing Village and Stanley Market for shopping bargains galore. Day 14 Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.
