The holiday season is the perfect time to visit the Museum galleries, where art and creativity can provide solace, inspiration, and joy. Be nostalgic in Think Outside the Brick: The Creative Art of LEGO® , an annual holiday tradition opening in November. Marvel at the innovative and quirky designs created by our partners at OhioLUG Columbus and challenge yourself to complete the LEGO® Scavenger Hunt. Be sure to use your member discount to find creative goods + good design in the Museum Store for all the people on your holiday gift list. And stop into the Schokko Café to enjoy an onsite treat or to place a carryout order to bring home.
There are so many ways to embrace the wonder of the season here at CMA. Join us for exclusive member preview days, November 18 – 20, and be the first to see Raggin’ On: The Art of Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson’s House and Journals. This spectacular exhibition features six decades of Aminah Robinson’s art and writing. The first major exhibition of the artist’s work since her death in 2015, Raggin’ On is a celebration of Robinson’s work and vision, and the home and neighborhood she cherished. Bring family and friends to experience the work of talented Columbus-based artists in Greater Columbus: The 2020 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Exhibition; and the painterly design, honest humor, and emotional vulnerability of the work of Tara Booth, our 2020 Columbus Comic Resident recipient. We shine a spotlight on the Ohio-based work of Clarence H. White and Ema Spencer in No Mere Button-Pressers, a joint production with The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology.

2020 has been an immensely difficult year of turmoil and uncertainty. This holiday season, CMA is thankful for the outstanding support of our Museum family—our Board, our members, our donors, our volunteers, and our visitors. Now more than ever, we strive to be a catalyst for change and a hub for creativity in our community. Because of your support, CMA will successfully navigate the challenges of the future and continue to serve the people of Central Ohio by creating engaging experiences, innovative learning opportunities, and bringing our city the best the art world has to offer.
