Jessica Walker was a bachelor of science student majoring in chemistry. One of the main reasons she attended BGSU was to play in the marching band. Her parents set up this scholarship to honor their daughter. The recipient must be a female marching band member, who is a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Originally from Findlay, Ohio, Bruce and Janet Misamore both attended BGSU. As an undergraduate Bruce was a recipient of a Music Talent Award, and was a member of the Falcon Marching Band and the Symphonic Band mostly as a nonmusic major. He was the president of Kappa Kappa Psi, the band honorary fraternity, and served for several years after graduation as a member of the Alumni Band Board of Directors, including a term as the organization’s president.
