Jody Adams was born and raised in Gastonia. His family has deep roots in the area and were instrumental in the textile industry. As a boy, Jody’s family had a river cabin on Lake Wylie and split their time between Gaston and York counties. It was a great area for a kid to grow up. After graduating from Appalachian State and brief stint in Portland, Oregon, Jody moved back home... to the Carolinas. Jody taught and coached at South Point High School in Belmont and made life long friends and future clients while there. In 2001, he turned his love of both North and South Carolina into a career as a Realtor. His passion for Real Estate is evident; he is knowledgeable and very hands on. He has helped hundreds of families buy and sell homes on both sides of the Lake. Today, he and his wife Michelle, are raising their four children in the same area Jody grew up in. Their children have attended schools in Lake Wylie, Gastonia and Belmont. Jody proudly admits, “I can’t imagine a better place to raise my kids than right here.” Outside of Real Estate, Jody enjoys boating on Lake Wylie, hiking Crowder’s Mountain, and attending his children’s many activities. He is an avid BMX enthusiast and Panther’s fan.

These properties were a big source that kept a lid on price appreciation. We can all remember the “buyers market” where homeowners were forced to accept pennies on the dollar. Today, when a home hits the market, particularly one in an affordable price range, there are a slew of buyers ready to write an offer. Sellers need to be prepared to move; a well located home that is in good condition AND is priced correctly will sell… and it will sell quickly! Make no mistake, this does not mean “anything goes” for sellers and there are multiple reasons why. While some homes are being snapped up immediately, others are not. A seller needs to understand that price, location, and condition have a major impact on the amount of days that a home is on the market. Innovative and creative marketing is a must. Marketing can be the largest driving force in getting a home sold quickly. A seller who understands the market and a Realtor who knows how to market are often confronted with the “problem” of multiple offers.
