Tuition Reimbursement
Full-time employees receive up to $3,000 per calendar year for job-related degree courses. This amount is pro-rated for half-time employees.
Paid Time Off
Traditional time off benefits for vacation, sick time and holidays are combined in a single category called Earned Time. Benefit eligible employees start accruing Earned Time with their first paycheck. The accrual rate is based on hours worked and is pro-rated if you work less than 40 hours per week. The annual accrual rate increases as your years of service increase, as shown in the table.
Other Paid Leave
It is the intention of Cheshire Medical Center that employees who are called to active duty, military service are protected against serious financial hardship that could result from this eventuality. Cheshire Medical Center supplements the employee’s military pay, if necessary, to ensure that the employee’s total income remains equivalent to the employee’s normal straight time pay. This compensation will continue for a maximum of 26 pay periods. Receive your pay plus stipend if you are called to Jury Duty. Bereavement leave is one week of your normally scheduled hours.
Cheshire Medical Center will provide up to two (2) consecutive weeks of paid Parental Leave for all Eligible Employees following the birth or adoption of a child. This policy shall only apply to births or adoptions that occur on or after the employee’s benefit effective date.
Professional Development Funding
Financial support is available for job-related certification exams, continuing education programs, conferences, memberships, and books.
