Hungry?

Manhattan Beach has an insane amount of delicious restaurants owned and operated by the best in their field. Manhattan Beach is divided into “dining” areas: Downtown & Metlox, The Village, and famous North Manhattan Beach area (a sliver of home and eateries, closest to LAX, sure to impress your eyes and taste buds).

1. DOWNTOWN & METLOX

While the streets of Downtown Manhattan Beach have been cleared of the outdoor decks, the food has only gotten better! The ocean views from the floor to ceiling windows at The Strand House never cease to amaze, while across the street Rock’N Fish the ‘open air’ building with ocean peek

view is still worthy of your time. Newest restaurants, Nando, Slay’s Steak & Fish and Dash & Dashi are side by side and the owner attentiveness to details will impress any Michelin worthy critic. Across the street from this trio is the amazing, small, always full, Fishing with Dynamite and MB Post, and yes it was the original location of the old post office.

On the South side of Manhattan Beach Blvd sits Ercoles and Shellback Tavern, two of the oldest bars in town. Both are infectiously happy places where locals rush regularly, all times of the day, to meet and connect with new and old friends.

Looking for a deeper connection over a meal, Arthur J Steakhouse and Slay’s Italian Kitchen are phenomenal choices to excite a hungry palate and soul. The downtown

European style town square area called, “Metlox” is home to The Shade Hotel with happy hour, music and comfort, as well as Nicks Restaurant and Petros Greek Restaurant that have outdoor dining with heat lamps, just in case the ocean air brings a chill.

2) THE VILLAGE

The village mall has a new open grassy area where kids can play and parents can chill. Joey Manhattan Beach and BOA Steakhouse are welcome new additions to casual family dining options. Tin Roof Bistro & Dan Modern Chinese give local taste buds a chance to explore and excite.

And Sweet Greens and Urban Plates are fast healthy options local Moms are grateful to have so close to home. Of course, we can’t forget to mention famous Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, both a great yummy new addition to the Village experience, plus…wait for it…there is free parking. Yes. FREE.

3) NORTH MANHATTAN BEACH

The North end of Manhattan Beach is also the beautiful entry point to our city from Los Angeles along the coast. It’s small town USA as you pass local Mex favorites: Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant, Baja Sharkeez, El Tarasco Mexican Food. If you want seafood, stop by Fishbar or Pisces. And for classic American, visit Cafe Wild, Two Guns coffee or see the live music schedule and dine for breakfast at the local staple Sloopy’s! Need food to eat during your day at the ocean edge? Beach Pizza! They deliver right down to the beach if you meet them at The Strand and the sand! Plus this year, on December 7th, you can walk around this little area and see all of these locations in action at the annual Holiday Stroll! Santa will be there with lots of other attractions!

Of all the city’s most successful and adored local establishments, we must mention point out the oldies but goodies: Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, Simmzy’s, Sloopy’s, Local Yolk, The Kettle, OB’s, and Grunions that all have stories to tell.

With so many varied options, from breakfast to dinner, to eat and to drink, maybe that’s why residents eat out here in Manhattan Beach more than any other city in CA.
