Cardigan Welcomes ree New Trustees

Cardigan is humbled and honored to introduce the community to three individuals who have recently committed to serving on the School’s Board of Trustees.

tyler lewiS:

In 2019, Tyler Lewis joined Kimball Union Academy as head of school. He and his wife Renee, who is also a career educator and coach, live on campus with their two sons, Benjamin and Finnegan, and their daughter Hadley. Prior to his appointment at KuA, Mr. Lewis spent four years as the head of school at Bishop’s College School, an international boarding school in Quebec, Canada. Under his leadership, the school implemented a strategic plan and a comprehensive campus master plan, enrollment reached maximum capacity, and the annual fund nearly doubled. From 2006–15, Mr. Lewis was the director of admission at Holderness School in New Hampshire and oversaw the execution of recruitment, retention, and financial aid; served on the finance committee of the board of trustees; and participated in two school strategic planning processes. At Cardigan, Mr. Lewis is serving on the Admission and Marketing Committee as well as the School Life Committee.

Jeffrey robertS p’21:

Jeffrey Roberts is the parent of a current Cardigan student, Jack Roberts ’21. He and his wife Michelle have two other children (ages 17 and eight) and live in Glencoe, IL. Mr. Roberts is an executive vice president in the Willis Towers Watson (WtW) Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. He is responsible for merger and acquisition consulting, risk management consulting, and insurance solutions for private equity clients along with their resultant portfolio company relationships. Currently, Mr. Roberts covers more than 20 private equity funds nationally. Prior to joining WtW, Mr. Roberts served as the Midwest financial products leader for the Marsh Private Equity Mergers and Acquisitions Practice, focusing on transactional risk solutions and management liability insurance products such as Directors & Officers Liability and Errors & Omissions. In 2002, Mr. Roberts relocated to Chicago and helped build a mergers and acquisition focused team, serving the Midwest private equity community. Before his career in finance, Mr. Roberts spent five years teaching and coaching at independent boarding schools, including St. George’s School in Rhode Island and Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut. Mr. Roberts is serving on the Academic and Intellectual Life Committee, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, the Real Estate Committee, and the School Life Committee.

ChriStopher King ’79:

Christopher King ’79 has spent his 30+ year career working with financial institutions, primarily in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). While at Cardigan, Mr. King served as School Leader and hockey captain; he continued his academic and hockey careers at St. Paul’s School and Princeton University. Mr. King then went on to serve eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve. After a brief time practicing M&A law, he became an investment banker with Credit Suisse and uBS, before moving to American International Group (AiG). Most recently, he served as a managing director for nine years at AiG. Mr. King and his wife Victoria currently live in Greenwich Village, NY, with their college-aged daughter Willa. Mr. King is serving on the Finance Committee and the Investment Committee. r
