ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUMMER CAMPS 2015
MORE THAN JUST LANGUAGE... DISCOVER THE CULTURE, EXPERIENCE ENGLAND BRADFIELD COLLEGE 29 June - 12 July | 13 July - 26 July | 27 July - 9 August Designed for 14 - 17 year-old boys and girls with intermediate / B1 level English or above
EXPERIENCE ENGLAND! With English+ our students get far more than just English lessons; they receive a comprehensive English development experience, where classroom lessons are just the start. A programme of directed learning activities and excursions to iconic British attractions accelerates classroom learning. Our excursions are not designed as a study-break. They form the basis of an enriched programme, where the culture and story behind the attractions informs the classroom syllabus. CMT Learning calls this the accelerated learning model, and it is inspired by the highly successful CLIL approach followed by many top schools around the world.
What’s included • 1:12 max teacher to student ratio (1:6 on some excursions) • 25 hours of classroom English tuition • 15 hours of directed learning • Grouped by ability • Exam preparation for Trinity, Cambridge and ESB (if required) • Individual teacher assessment and written report at the end of the camp
Did you know... Students are challenged to present ideas, opinions and concepts to develop their confidence in the language skills that are essential for success in the oral examinations for Trinity, Cambridge and ESB.
Our Staff Our Learning Philosophy The biggest challenge young people face in developing their language skills is the limitation of short-term classroom-based learning. CMT Learning challenges this model by designing evidence-based courses for optimal student engagement and language learning success. We believe that a fully immersive English environment is more engaging, fulfilling and enjoyable for students than traditional models. Evidence shows that the fastest and most effective language learning is achieved through immersing students in an Englishspeaking environment.
English Language Highly qualified native-level EFL teachers, with extensive experience in motivating young people, deliver interactive taskbased lessons supported by extensive teaching materials. Core competencies in speaking, listening, reading and writing are supplemented by a programme of directed learning activities to develop social skills, free-thinking, teamwork and confidence in English. With projects focussing on excursion topics, students are engaged in learning through every aspect of the camp. They leave with an individual learner assessment, advice on further development, workbooks and projects to continue at home.
A team of highly qualified and experienced teachers and pastoral staff supervise and support students 24 hours a day. We have many staff on site who have attended top UK universities and are happy to discuss their experiences with students. There will also be trained medical staff on-site.
