Vice-Chancellor’s Introduction

“ When choosing your university, do it on the basis of quality and be very discerning: top quality is claimed by many, but demonstrated by few. ”

Vice-Chancellor’s Introduction Welcome to Sunway University’s prospectus of courses. This book is packed with information about our academic programmes as well as lots of other valuable information about our University, our resort city locale, and what we can offer you in terms of a total student experience.

Making the right choice of university is very important for your future. Sunway University is an academically “excellent” institution as judged by the national SETARA quality assessment carried out by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. Moreover, we work in partnership with distinguished institutions around the world. For example, many of our degrees are validated by Lancaster University, UK, which is a top ten UK institution. This means students on such programmes can get dual awards with certificates awarded by both Sunway and Lancaster. In the hospitality field, we partner with the renowned Paris-based institution Le Cordon Bleu, which upholds the highest global standards in hospitality and culinary training. Other qualifications carry accreditation from the major professional bodies in their fields. All of this says one thing: whatever the field of study, Sunway University distinguishes itself by quality. This is exactly what you would expect from a University that is supported by the not-for-profit Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and which is part of the highly successful Sunway Group of companies. Our graduates are increasingly sought-after by top organisations both in Malaysia and internationally. All of our academic programmes are designed to give the highest quality of education but focused on particular job requirements. They also provide our high calibre graduates with the necessary generic professional skills to enable them to succeed in the highly competitive employment market. American Degree Transfer Programme Centre for American Education

About the Programme

Entry Requirements

“ An American degree is recognised throughout the world as a mark of quality and is a passport to today’s global jobs market. An American degree usually takes about four years to complete and, because of the high cost of education in the USA, can be very expensive. The American Degree Transfer Programme (ADTP) enables you to begin your degree at Sunway University before transferring to a university of your choice in America to complete your studies. The ADTP covers up to 2 years of equivalent study before you transfer, allowing you to complete your American degree at nearly half of the cost. ”

The ADTP has been developed specifically to allow students to study for the first part of their American degree at Sunway University. The programme has been designed in consultation with American universities to ensure that students can transfer seamlessly to America to complete their studies.

ADTP (Science / Engineering) — For Science, Engineering, Aviation, Computer Science or related majors

Studying abroad gives you a real competitive edge when it comes to getting a job, helping you to truly stand out from the crowd. But it is much more than just an educational experience; the time you spend in America could well be the time of your life, as you will get to meet new people, immerse yourself in a different culture and visit places you have only before dreamed of. The American education system provides a unique blend of rigorous academic study within a broad-based curriculum, designed to develop each student’s talents to the fullest. Many of our faculty have worked or studied in America, so they know just what it takes and can help and support you all the way. The ADTP at Sunway University has been helping students realise their dreams for over 25 years; during that time our graduates have gone on to some of the top-ranked universities, including Cornell University; Johns Hopkins University; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and New York University. The ADTP strives to bring out the best in every student, through education of the highest level of excellence. We pride ourselves on student-centred learning, recognising that each student is an individual with an individual learning style. The latest technologies are harnessed throughout, to create the best possible environment for learning. Although specifically designed to enable students to transfer to universities in America, some of our students decide they wish to complete their studies elsewhere. If you decide to go elsewhere, you will find that the ADTP is accepted throughout the world, including Canada, Europe and the UK, New Zealand and Australia.

Like all American degree programmes, the Sunway University ADTP provides students with a mixture of subject specific and general education, ensuring that students are wellprepared for the next phase of their studies in the USA. Alongside their academic studies, students are encouraged to take part in a range of extracurricular activities, including community services, field trips and sporting events. As you move towards completion of your studies at Sunway, we will help you prepare your applications to the universities of your choice.
