eDITOR’S nOTE Greetings: Here we are, looking at the end of another tourist season. We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable season while dodging tourist traffic and RV’s throughout the summer. The approaching month of September is a reminder that fall is on its way and on its heels will come the ice and snow of winter. We need to take care. This is the time also to remind ourselves that children are excited about their return to school and may not be paying attention to or thinking about road safety. It is our responsibility as professionals to watch for school buses and avoid situations involving children in school and playground zones. “Remember! Our children are our future.” Now on to the lighter side of things, Truxpo is being held in Abbotsford, B.C. September 19-20th 2014, and everyone is invited to attend. Stop by for a visit. Meet leading suppliers in the industry, and visit with recruiters from many of the major transportation companies. Find that ideal piece of equipment, the perfect company to connect with or just stop in to reunite with old friends. I have made this statement about the transportation industry, many times. “The people and faces stay the same, but the names on the doors tend to change”.

As far back as I can remember I’ve wanted to be a truck driver. On my days off school I’d wake up at 4:00 am to go with my father on his runs to Chibougamau and Sept-Iles in northern Quebec.
